Friendly staff and very flexible. The table setting for breakfast is very quaint and delicate. Free parking space and the view from the room was fantastic with the lake! Great location, and not very far from the city center. Walking from the hotel to the center is such a treat as you walk along the path by the lake.
No elevator, so don't bring heavy luggage.
The lady who owns the hotel was really nice. We had breakfast there on Easter Sunday and she had bought a chocolate Easter bunny for each of the hotel guests. It's not very far from the city centre. In Summer there is a small boat service on the Pfaffenteich lake where the hotel is located, but it was not yet available when we were there.
Beautifully located next to the water and close to town center. Free parking, no additional charge for pets.
Very small and dated rooms. Had booked a “comfort double room,” but was shown to a regular double room when checking in. Was told that it would be at a lower price. I agree since it was only an overnight stay and it had been a long drive. The lower priced turned out to be only 6 euros less (not worth it).
location, parking, Kettle and tea facility in the room, atmosphere
The duvet is in synthetic material. The breakfast could be boosted a little.
This is a hotel designed primarily for German-speaking guests and there is a language barrier for those of us whose Deutsch ist schlecht as the proprietor's English is worse than my German - however, he is a very jolly individual although I think he runs the admin side all on his own whilst juggling other hotel duties. The hotel is nicely located with many rooms overlooking the lake and it's about 15 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof - less when the little ferry runs across the lake. The old DDR heating system (now redundant) was left in the room as a feature, and the room was large. I am still chuckling about the handwash, called "Green Moment"! This place had a little fridge and tea and coffee facilities.
If you like carpet in your room you could be in for disappointment, and if I am honest I'd say this was a 55 Euro per room place rather than a 70 Euro. I wasn't entirely convinced by the look of the sheets so slept between two duvets. The shower needed a clean inasmuch as the head probably has limescale build-up. Breakfast was adequate although the selection was not vast. The wifi was non-existent for most of my stay and at some point during the night the radiator just shut down, although that didn't bother me too much. There is no lift here - not a problem for me but could be for others.
Located directly on the pier, overlooking the scenic Lake Pfaffenteich, this family-run hotel offers free internet access and regional cuisine. It is just a 5-minute drive to Schwerin city centre. The Haus am Pfaffenteich offers simply furnished rooms with cable TV, a radio, minibar and telephone and a view of either the courtyard or Pffafenteich Lake. Some rooms also feature a balcony. A breakfast buffet is served every morning at the Pfaffenteich, which guests can enjoy in the hotel’s breakfast room. The Pfaffenteich offers good connections to Schwerin’s tourist attractions. Schwerin Castle, the Zoo, TV Tower and several theatres are all within a 15-minute drive. The peaceful Schwerin Lake is about one kilometre away. The local ferry service, known as the Petermännchenfähre, reaches Schwerin Central Train Station in 10 minutes. Free parking is also available at the Pfaffenteich Hotel.
