The room was very big. Comfortable, large beds. Good hot water pressure. Window shutters so no light enters the room at all. You're right in the centre of the local area and only about 10 minutes drive from the main historical and shopping areas. I would stay here again.
The breakfast was quite expensive for what it offered. You can get better in the local area. It's also a bit of a shame that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Everything! The people, the room!
The staff is just amazing. We talked with 2 people and they were extremely friendly and with good hints.
This hotel of an older vintage belonging to the Atiram chain of Bahrein and Spain seemed rather under—utilised, but offers spacious rooms with a bath tub, and an excellent breakfast buffet.
When I tried to speak Spanish at the check-in, the desk clerk lectured me that they, Catalans, don‘t speak Spanish anymore. She switched to heavily accented French with a limited vocabulary and took me through a long, bureaucratic check-in procedure. When I enriched my expression of annoyance with a few juicy Spanish expletives, she consented to speak Spanish, no doubt the language of her parents..... to my mind this was not only a sign of how much the Catalan issue has poisoned affairs, but also a sign of very poor service attitudes. The rest of the staff all spoke fluent Spanish, also among themselves.
We liked the friendly staff and kids liked the free sweets. I liked the very strange dated artwork.
We didn’t like the noise!!! We could hear everything the people above were doing including clomping about in clicky shoes on tiled floors, flushing the toilet, talking, running water and showering. The windows did nothing to dampen street noise. The beds were not comfortable and the room was too hot. All four of us had a very bad night’s sleep. The town is scruffy with very poor choice of eateries. Parking is tricky and there are multiple parking officers on patrol at all times. In a row of ten cars parked in the strret outside the hotel, four had tickets this morning. The breakfast was fresh but very basic with bad coffee and not much taste.
When you stay at Imperial Atiram in Sant Julia de Loria, you'll be in the suburbs, within a 10-minute drive of Caldea Spa and Pyrenees Andorra Shopping Centre. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
