This was our second stay in this modern hotel. With an excellent location, in a calm street situated somewhere between via Veneto and Piazza Spagna, Berg is just a few minutes walk from Villa Borghese. Extremely friendly staff specially Erico. The rooms are large and clean. Our bed was king size and comfortable. Mini bar has a lot of choices. The internet speed is high. What to ask more.
Everything was perfect, location, comfortable, the terrace was great, breakfast
Only thing I need is electric kettle in the room to make my morning coffee and enjoying the view in the terrace.
Good breakfast, great location
We had booked a Junior Suite with City view. Instead we got a room (suite?) with view to the back of other buildings. This room was Nr. 605, next to the elevator and opposite the storage room for cleaning materials which was already in use at 8.00H. Very bad practise.
The location is great, very safe neighborhood and fantastic restaurants around it. The room we had (junior suite) was very spacious and had a walk in wardrobe which I really appreciated. Breakfast was quiet varied and it had good options, perfect for fueling up before hitting all the sights.
Too bad it was our honeymoon! I expected a little more from this hotel...the photos on booking.com looked great, however: 1. the property is in dire need of some maintenance, some of the mosaic tiles in the shower were missing and mold was starting to form. 2. the towel rails were fixed to the wall with double sided tape and they were starting to come off. 3. the shower tap was sealed with silicone and it looked really sloppy, not done by a professional 4. the AC did not work properly.... I'm pretty sure the property switched it off in the entire building during the night and as you can imagine Rome in summer, is really, really hot! It wasn't even blowing cold air during the day... 5. the toiletries were not refilled every day, we had to share some leftover shampoo from the day before because we would never find new toiletries after the clean! We had to ask for shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion! The toiletries were refilled only 1 time during our 5 day stay! That's unacceptable for a 'luxury' hotel The worst part of our stay was in the first 2 days when the toilet in our bathroom stopped flushing... Their solution to this was to tell us we can use the shared facilities for that night until the morning when they can get someone in to fix it?! They seemed quite taken aback when we obviously said no. We weren't going to catch to lift from level 6 to level 1 in the middle of the night just so we can use the restroom! What type of 'luxury' hotel doesn't have a maintenance team available!? The hotel was fully booked that night so there was no way we could change rooms. We 'compromised' after we went back and forth and we got the keys to a disabled room they had free so we can use the toilet.... The hotel manager tried to fix the toilet in the morning but it stopped working again and they did eventually call a professional who told them they need to replace the whole thing.
comfort in the room, excellent bed and bathroom..
