Location of the hotel is awesome. View from the window is pretty good.
Unfortunately, it is a 3 star hotel maximum, not 4. There was unpleasant smell in the room, I couldn't even sleep there. I asked to change the room because of the smell, but no, the were full. ok... I asked to fix it, but they didn't do anything with it. In addition to said above, shampoo was empty 2 days... They didn't change bed linens for 3 day in a line. The room and a bathroom very small. There are no socket near the bed. There are only 3 clothes hanger.
Staff really kind, perfect location, more than comfortable rooms
There were spiders (really big) in my room, when I called reception to get a person from facilities to take them away or whatever, the reception lady told me she was the only staff member in the hotel (she did offer to help but I personally think it doesn’t fall in her job description). So I had to sleep with spiders
Location, staff, rooms, breakfast - all were great. Did I mention location - literally steps away from the Charles Bridge. The staff was wonderful, rooms were great, beds comfy! We liked the hotel so much that we booked it for the end of our trip before leaving Prague at the beginning of our 3 weeks in Europe.
Could have had more comfy side chairs in our room, but who sits in their hotel room in Prague?
I could not imagine a better location. We were literally 2 minutes from placing our feet on Charles Bridge, 3 minutes from excellent restaurants, ice cream, shopping, etc. Taking the metro and bus in from the airport is easy and cheap, and puts you within a few minutes' walk of the hotel as well. If you need a car to get somewhere (like to the train station or airport as we did) the hotel will arrange that for a set fee (about $15 to the train station and $30 to the airport) and you have no worries. Just have your bags packed and they pick you up at the front door. We were in room number 11, I think it must have the best views. One window looks directly at Charles Bridge and a gate leading to it (you can't see the whole of the bridge, just a bit of it., but I found that quite enough) the other one affords views up the hill over rooftops to the castle. Especially nice as it was lit up at night. The windows even supplied a really nice cross breeze, cool in the evening and lovely to have the windows open just to people watch. The room also had a few extra square feet which was great. Just felt like you had more room to stretch out. There's a small table with two chairs near one window. Breakfast was plentiful and had nice, fresh choices. You are allowed one hot selection personally cooked for you by the attentive and very competent lady who manages the room, after which, you are charged for more, but it's not even really needed as it's easy to fill up on the well stocked buffet. The front desk staff, two different young men and a lady there at different times, were all very nice. Especially Matthew, I believe that was his name, was so helpful, soft-spoken, calming and competent, the epitome of what you want to see in at a front desk to represent your establishment. We stayed here at the beginning of their trip, and came back a few weeks later to stay the last few nights.
The air conditioner in room 11 was the most pitiful of our entire 3 week journey through four countries. Yes, it did put out cool air, but at an extraordinary slow pace. It must be reaching the end of its life, and needs to be replaced as it took hours to cool the room down. And, although the room was very clean, and the sheets & pillows cozy, there were a few large-ish spiders that love to hide & hang out near the windows that made opening them kind of scary. I'm sure upon hearing this, the hotel will promptly spray!
Fabulous location, fabulous stuff, so easy to stay there.
