Location was beautiful and handy for our day time plans.
Pool area was grubby. Dead moths and flies floating on pool when swimming in the water in the evening. Also freezing as the window was open although this appeared broken. Put me off from swimming so never went in again during stay. Noticed the pool was also dirty under the water on the tiles. Woken up the back of 5 in the morning by the racket upstairs guests were making. Thumping and running across the room continuously. Brought to the attention of reception staff. We appreciate you will hear sounds in old buildings however this was off the scale and gave us little sleep. Partner was the driver for the next day and struggled due to poor sleep.
Bed was comfy, great views.
Breakfast felt like we were in an episode of faulty towers- no organisation and food of questionable quality. We also did not have our room made up, when it should have been.
Location Room very spacious Views spectacular
Young staff in the dinner and breakfast hall can do with some training. Tables not cleaned and ran out of everything. Bathroom was never cleaned, used bottles still in shower.
Lovely large room and a swim after a cycle was a great way to relax.
Breakfast was chaotic with nobody in charge, nobody taking orders, no juice glasses, no coffee cups; the cups would arrive, but the coffee had run out etc. It took 90 minutes, which is 45 minutes extra than it should. Check out is before 1100. Went to check out at 1015. Nobody at reception. Waited 10-15 minutes but had to leave without settling the bill. Phoned later to pay but nobody could take the payment.
Location is great. Beds very comfortable.
Meals were expensive. They appeared to be having staff problems.
