We had reserved a car for pick up near our hotel and were then told the pick up was available only at the airport location. We then proceeded to pay for a taxi to the airport only to be told, after waiting in line for 45 minutes that they gave our reservation to the gentleman in front of us in line. I asked the agent what the point of booking a reservation, only to be told that it is first come, first served. She also said we were late for pick up. Pick up was at 10:30am, we arrived at 10:15 and had we not had to wait in line behind the person that later received our rental we would have arrived in plenty of time. Very disappointed, poor service and a waste of $65 dollars as we then had to pay for a taxi back to our hotel.

Avoid Payless. Upon arrival we were bluntly told they ‘had no cars’ ‘were overbooked and could not do anything for us’ When reminded of their responsibility to honor the reservation the representative gruffly told us that they could not hire from another company. There we were stranded at the airport with kids. Very unprofessional, very rude, and unfortunately quite in character. We had to find an alternative rental on our own for double the price.

I could not pick-up my car because the agency closed before regular open hours, no one informed us. Thus unforcasted taxi to pay

Great staff, car in excellent shape, good value for the money.Pickup a little backed up and a little slow but it was a prime arrival time at airport.

NO PAYLESS RELOCATED TO A HOTEL AND HAD NO INFORMATION OUT SIDE REGARDING..WE HAD ASKED SEVERAL COMPANIES WHERE THEY WERE LOCATED.WHERE TO PICK UP THE CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE ...THE CARS WERE CRAPPY HAH TO GET ANOTHER ONE THAT WASNT FALLING APART ALSOAND MORE EXPENSIVE THAN CURACAO THAT HAD BETTER CARS

Staff was ultimately accommodating, but not quick to assist.Firstly, the car was a 2016 and a piece of garbage. The door lock only opened the driver door, rather than all of the doors as it should have. Our car died on the island. We called the service number and they told us 20-30 minutes. An hour later they came, tried a jump start and battery, but to no avail. They said the car needed to be towed, and after a phone call, said they were to take me to the airport to get a replacement. I questioned the drop off point since Payless is offsite. Of course, when they dropped me at the airport, there was no one there. I imposed on the Avis attendant (Avis owns/partners with Payless) to get me a ride to Payless. There they gave me a replacement vehicle. But no one from Payless knew of any of my previous conversations with them during this ordeal. To their credit, they provided me with a courtesy discount for my troubles when I settled my account.... but only after I asked.

High pressure to buy extra insurance even though I kept telling her our credit card covered it. We ended up paying for it. Also the air conditioning did not work well, we were miserable driving around.

The car was disgusting inside. It smelled bad and they tried to hide the odor with some type of air freshener which made it twice as bad. And it was full of cockroaches! Very upset with it all around
