Dated fixtures and facilities aren't worth the price per night, even with the excellent location. These rooms should be $100-$150 per night cheaper, given how dated this hotel is.

Pros (+) Great being at ocean front property with an ocean view room.
Cons (-) Room wasn't too clean; dirty bed skirt and dirty washcloth/towel and screen door was off track.

Cons (-) We have been going to the Princess Royale for years and the one thing we noticed this time was people smoked pot and cigarettes on the balconies and in their rooms. We could smell the nasty skunk smell of pot coming into the room.

Pros (+) Location - beachfront, parking, bus stop right outside hotel to go south to the boardwalk ($3 day pass) Rooms - large, safe, kitchenette
Cons (-) Maintenance - ceilings leaking with rainfall, sink faucet leaking on countertop Decor/ amenities - dated, clearly no investment in renovations Staff - not inviting, mixed knowledge in hotel information Bar hours - tiki bar and pool bar close way too early

Pros (+) The hotel was RIGHT on the beach, private beach entrance. ALSO a beautiful indoor pool. So coming from the beach, to the pool to cool off was wonderful.
Cons (-) Only con was that it wasn't on the boardwalk like we originally thought, but only a very short distance to get to the boardwalk for the shops. About a 5 minute drive. The room was much bigger than we expected, turned out to be a 2 room suite with a full kitchen and dishwasher. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Wonderful stay. Will be coming back.

Pros (+) On the beach and clean and orderly with great ocean front rooms and kitchenettes as an option.
Cons (-) Restaurant food is okay. Coffee and meals suffer from lack of refined flavor and enthusiasm. But, still a good value for getting a place on the beach with nice rooms.
