Pros: Old world charm.
Cons: Not much to do in the area.
Pros: Nice and comfortable hotel on a nice location, very helpful staff, excellent stay!
Cons: Limited parking facilities, although the available parking solutions are of good quality.
Pros: Magnificent historic hotel. Brilliant location. The room was very good and the bathroom superb. Staff was excellent except for one surly, unsming chap in the breakfast room.
Cons: A tall, swarthy, unsmiling, arrogant staff member in the breakfast lounge. Considering everyone else was so friendly, so decent, it was a let down that this chap could be so arrogant over nothing.
Pros: I loved the spa amenities.
Cons: Didn’t care for the memory foam mattress.
Cons: There is one remark about the condition of the equipment in the sauna area: - steam generators do not work in the Roman steam room and steam room with aromatherapy; - in the salt room some time ago (several years) there was an unpleasant smell of dampness (or mold) and nothing was done. I have something to compare, because I first stayed at this hotel (it was called Haeckers Kurhotel) in 2007, and for a long time the equipment about, which I wrote above, worked perfectly.
Pros: Staff and Breakfast.
Cons: This is an old resort slowly coming to an end. Terrible furniture, worst sheets. One room smelled, another extremely dark (had to upgrade it). Bathrooms were fine. Only for older people interested in hot spring.
Pros: beautiful area and hotel very plush and comfortable
Pros: Very comfortable hotel and staff .
Cons: Some of the food at dinner could have been better. Duck I had was inedible.
Pros: Exclusive room was big with comfortable bathroom. Warm swimming pool and saunas were great. Hotel is beautiful (only from the outside though).
Cons: Welcome was very cold. We were not given basic info like when and where’s breakfast served. Staff speaks basically only German, we were treated like second category guests. Very chaotic breakfast - tables not ready, missing food (eventually good quality though), staff not very helpful. Hotel filled with old people. Overall too outdated and too expensive for what you get. Parking very problematic.
This family-run hotel offers an idyllic and completely tranquil setting in the heart of a forest. Berghotel Wintersberg offers excellent regional cuisine and a fantastic view of Bad Ems and the surrounding area. Quietly situated beside the UNESCO-listed Limes Tower, this hotel in Bad Ems offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and a balcony. It has great views of the Lahntal Valley and the Nassau Nature Park. Breakfast is provided each morning at the Berghotel Wintersberg. In the summer, guests can enjoy breakfast outside on the terrace and enjoy the view of the Limes Tower. The hotel restaurant offers Mediterranean dishes as well as regional, country-style cuisine made with local produce. The Berghotel Wintersberg is an ideal base for hikes and day trips in the Taunus and Westerwald hills. Bad Ems town centre is a 5-minute drive or a 25-minute walk away. Koblenz can be reached in 20 minutes by car.
Pros: Wonderful location, lovely walk through the forest down to Bad Ems. Characterful building.
Cons: Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice for those who need a cup of tea to wake up!
Pros: The room was spacious and the view is amazing.
Cons: The hotel is not easily find. When we reach the place an old lady was expecting us but she did not speak even a word in English. We couldn't ask her a question even with the translator. The mattresses and the pillows (only 2, too large and too soft) were flat and not comfortable. The breakfast the first day was better but with no sweet German stuff at all. The second day it took a lot of time to serve it and they forgot my boiled egg and one of the ladies of course she did not speak English at all. If you are German the hotel is friendly, if not, do not go there. The restaurant is not open every day, take that into account because is not easy to go to Bad Ems center and find a Restaurant. We went walking through the mountain which was nice but if you are not young or fit, you need to grab the car again...
Cons: Noisy room number 4 sounded like a freezer coming on & of a all night.
Pros: I really like the position of the hotel. Nice view! beware that the bar and restaurant are not open on al days...
Cons: I booked for one person, The hotel wasn't full. but still got room nr1. without a nice view.... was better to let the guest stay in the best view room when not completely booked out...
Pros: Very good meal and nice Hotel
Pros: Great view from my room. The nature around the hotel. The terrace with a very nice view. The breakfast made with lot of love :-) Fabulous!!!
Pros: Nice, cosy and quiet place with very nice hosts. Almost like at home.
Cons: A little bit more thorough cleaning would be nice, and may be a little fridge in the room..

The spacious rooms at the Aktivhotel Alter Kaiser feature classic-style décor with wooden furniture and laminate floors. Parking is free at the Alter Kaiser, and Bad Ems West Train Station is a 10-minute walk away. It takes 15 minutes to drive to Koblenz.
Pros: Cosy place with very helpful staff. Clean and spacious room with fast Wi-Fi. Breakfast was above expectations. Self-service bar with board games is a nice addition to a relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing specific. I personally don't like separate toilet and bathroom but for some guests it could be more convinient. Keep in mind that reception does not work during afternoon time. Plan your activities accordingly.
Pros: Satisfactory breakfast. Huge room, comfortable bed. Absolute quiet surrounding, all you hear is the flushing of the next room. Parking available for free, however the space is narrow and only for the experienced driver. Host extremely welcoming!!!
Cons: Parking space. May be it is a good idea to split the space in less places.
Pros: Bed was very comfortable, clean room and all the amenities were provided.
Cons: Not applicable
Pros: Great value for money, large and comfortable room, helpful and nice staff, outstanding breakfast, definitely not my last stay in the hotel.
Cons: No elevator.
Pros: The owner Ernst at the front desk was wonderful. He spoke English and was very helpful providing directions and recommendations for dinner. The dinner was one of the best in our 2 week trip to Germany. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. The shower was small, but many are in Europe. The bonus was there are 2 bowling alleys downstairs and my husband and I had a blast bowling while drinking a couple of beers that are in the refrigerator that you can take and pay later. The breakfast was good, coffee excellent. We enjoyed walking around the town starting at the hotel. So cute and everyone was friendly. We really fell in love with Bad Ems and would definitely come back here and to this hotel again.
Pros: I returned to this hotel many times. It is in excellent location, clean and comfortable.
Pros: Great value for the location. Super friendly staff, a good European breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Room is simple, but not lacking in anything. Convenient to walk to the major tourist attractions with free parking in their courtyard. Seems they have bike storage services for bikers too. Dinner recommendation was excellent.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
With a stay at Hotel Bad Emser Hof in Bad Ems, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Philippsburg Castle and Marksburg Castle.
Pros: Excellent staff, affordable and well worth the stay! With one of the most attentive, friendly, personally pleasing and courteous staff with whom we’ve enjoyed being guests! Bad Emserhof the most superior service quality by our breakfast staff, the most important meal of the day and the staff always make the finest first impression with each contact! I am going to say as an American that the staff and service are superior to here in the USA!! We are losing our respectability and honor when it comes to hotel service, especially with larger companies or chain location hotels??!! We loved our stay! The tubs in the bathrooms are just that, VERY LARGE tubs in which to take great baths, even for larger size men like me!
Cons: The WiFi is great at the lobby level, the WiFi per room is just not good at all?!
Pros: The bed was quite comfortable (I had a french bed) and the room had a hug balcony. The recepcionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for one night.
Pros: Very good restaurant doing superb Italian cuisine
Cons: No AC
Pros: The room was quite big and had balcony with nice view over the river and town. I slept comfortably. Bedclothes were clean and had nice touch. Breakfast was very good and again with nice view over the river. It was quiet although the rooms are not soundproof and you can hear someone walking down the stairs etc.
Cons: I didn't like the floor, there were plastic panels and not a carpet, at least in my room. I didn't have the cosmetics kit except for liquid soap and shower/shampoo gel. In my room I could not catch wi-fi. The hotel is a bit outdated, some renovation would be most appropriate.
Pros: Lovely hotel in a very pretty town. We used this as an overnight stop off after a trip through the Black Forest before heading to the Mosel Valley. Car parking is available in a multi storey to the rear of the hotel which is located on the main street with lovely views over the river. We enjoyed a relaxing evening stroll through this lovely town and finished the evening with dinner in the Italian restaurant located next door to the hotel where the food was of a high quality. There was an excellent breakfast selection in the hotel and our room was very spacious. After a day's riding in hard rain this was a welcome and comfortable venue within which to relax. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.
Pros: Great location
Pros: What a great location, staff is professional, friendly, courteous and will work to help you and make your stay fully satisfying! The balconies are perfect, plenty of space inside rooms, the breakfast is excellent with full hot & cold options available AND our service staff are so friendly & positive always with a smile and true German hospitality!!!
Cons: No climate control in rooms to control humidity but, air at night is nicely cool with Euro-style windows to prop open, pull open?! And, both balcony doors and hallway balcony doors open completely to air out any heat and we are free to keep the hotel door open as well to air out any heat! Thee are also no grocery stores close by to buy water or necessities for stay or travel but, about a mile (kilometer) away is Rewe and Aldi & LidL are a bit further and you can take a 350 meter walk to the BH train and 4 minutes from Bad Ems to Bad Ems West is LidL right there inside the old train station!
Pros: Location excellent Breakfast good to excellent
Pros: Bike garage. Nice restaurant for dinner. Great location. Had room in back, very quiet!
Cons: Breakfast good but more limited than other hotels we’ve used.

Pros: The hotel has a good restaurant(Croatian grill) on the ground floor. There were adequate free hotel parking places. The restaurant served complimentary dessert for the hotel guests. It was very addictive and we ended up having most of our meals at the hotel and the children were happy every time. The Emser Therme(Thermal bath) was only a block away. The staff were very friendly.
Cons: There is no elevator, but still manageable with kids and luggage. Not easily accessible for disabled. Saw a guest with crutches though.
Pros: Decent rooms, clean, perfect hospitality, good restaurant,

Pros: We love coming here and make a pilgrimage at least once a year to this brilliant family run hotel. The location is stunning, the welcome always warm and nothing is too much trouble. With the Rhine passenger ferries stopping just across the road and the car ferries just along the road, this super friendly place is perfectly placed for a break on the Romantic stretch of the river. We love sitting on the terrace, watching the boats go by with a glass of delicious local wine. And the food! Wow! Wonderful local fare like Oma used to make as well as fantastic salads and steaks. Thank you, Hotel Krone, for another wonderful holiday - and a special thank you to Mareena for looking after us so well.
Cons: We loved everything!

Cons: The bathroom could have been better.
Pros: Beautiful location friendly people great breakfast.
Cons: Top floor. No lift.
Pros: Wonderful location on the Rhein. Romantic, great summer travel location
Cons: The front desk staff kept saying they don’t speak English instead of reaching out to the English speaking counterparts to assist. I actually speak enough German to communicate, but their attitude pissed me off.
Pros: Room is very clean and comfortable
Cons: I prefer to have more beverages for breakfast
Pros: Nice staff, good size of rooms, cleanliness is very good.
Cons: Noise from the street/trains
Pros: Very good breakfast, room with nice balcony. Cosy bed, everything clean. Super friendly staff. Thanks for the nice stay.
