The hotel is beautiful. A very welcoming reception area stunningly decorated, a very warm feel. The staff were fabulous. Special mention to Scott from the concierge, who on my arrival after a 2 hour train delay, helped me with my bag, was very friendly and even went back to the bar to bring me a glass of wine to start relaxing! Just above and beyond but really made me instantly feel I could just relax into my evening. Lucy and Kyle were also incredibly helpful, as well as the gentleman who's first shift it was on reception (didn't catch his name) so friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and a good temperature. Breakfast was a buffet with great choice and delicious, fresh and hot. I love that you can order freshly cooked items if you wish. Really like the touch of being able to grab a takeaway coffee - don't see that everywhere. Oh and the pillow sleep spray!! what a lovely touch - love that idea! I travel a lot for work and this was by far the best experience on a work trip! Thank you!
My only observation I want to share is that I think the shower cubicle needs an update. The bathrooms small but I didn't mind that at all but would be better with a newer shower (some marks on the ceiling and black mould around the edge) but other than that the bathroom was immaculate!
The room was decent value, had the breakfast been hot,I would have marked the hotel higher.
Breakfast from the hot buffet was cold both days of our stay.having stayed here before we did nt feel that the front of house was as welcoming as it used to be.On our last day we were out at 8.30am till 3.30pm,when we came back to relax we found our room had nt been serviced,at 3.40 the maid appeared to clean it,just as we were looking to relax and shower before going out.
Room was really spacious, clean and very comfortable
We did not incur any negatives. A very enjoyable stay which was in a perfect position for our theatre visit
Breakfast no tea or coffee served at table
Very central position. Nice room.
A number of small things not quite adequate for the four stars that the hotel claims: out room was in the basement, the radiator in the bathroom was out of order, the shower panel was leaking allowing lots of water to leak on the floor while taking a shower.
