While over all the report looks nice from the marketing pictures and the location is in fact beautiful, the service and facilities are not up to par. To start with most of the staff was pretty rude or the service was very slow. We went in the off season so maybe they employee less staff but there was also fewer guests. Pros (+) The location of the Carambola Beach Resort is idyllic. Beautiful white sand beach and tide pools nearby. The beds were comfortable in the patios attached to each room are lovely.
Cons (-) It is clear that this property was severely affected by the hurricanes a few years ago. They are still trying to get up and running. The restaurant and bar is chaotic at best with meager options. The staff seems unenthused to be there. There are kitchenettes in the rooms but no dishes or cooking implements or cutlery at all.
