Managers very kind and swimming pool by river
Do not take room if interconnecting door.. could hear everything and even worse if guests noisy Don’t have breakfast!! does not cater to westerners. No screens on doors so lots of mosquitoes if doors left open, so had to have aircon all the time if inside.
Nice view of the river the arrangement
The layout of the rooms is too spread away, the shower is not working properly. The break fast is so, so.
The staff were helpful and gracious. The morning breakfast was very good. The scenery at the pool was great. The water was clear and refreshing. The pool was large enough to accommodate children and adults alike. The view from the room was very nice. It took in the gardens and grounds to the pool and beyond to the River. The interior of the Main Reception down to the Restaurant must have had some glorious programs in the past for the King and his family.....it looked that elegant.
The Resort was once beautiful and the envy of Chiang Rai. Royalty and High Society must have had great times there in eras gone-by. But now, it needs a lot of Tender Loving Care (TLC). It is old and run down in some sections of the grounds. The sidewalks are decaying. There is no lift at the resort... so if you are not fully able bodied, you are in for some treats negotiating up to 3 flights of stairs...... When we first arrived to the room, one of the first things I noticed was the Brown water coming out of the tap...not a good sign....and same from the Toilet. That evening, the shower did not have enough pressure to put out a good stream. By morning, the water had cleared some and a shower was possible. Significant capital investment is needed to update the place. There is not sufficient traffic for the hotel to make money and they struggle (my opinion) to keep the doors open.... I do hope they survive..... it has an interesting history .... but has fallen on hard times.
Good, location. attentive staff. Unfortunately the hotel is older and caters to Asian tour groups. High noisy turnover. restaurant is limited to buffet breakfast (Chinese food) and buffet lunch. No service for dinner
clientele is mostly tour groups, who do not purchase anything tat is not provided with their tour. This meant the restaurants and bar service was very limited. Only one of four restaurants was in service, and that only for buffet breakfast and buffet lunch
Spacious Hotel, beautiful and peaceful, Nice pool and very nice staff always wanting to help :)
Location is bit far from the city, but was not too bad.
