With the gas shortage it was a little scary leaving on a four hour trip with a little more than 1/2 a tank of gas. Not the fault of Alamo, it was just the reality for me and Alamo. Happily, by driving 5mph under the speed limit, I was able to save gas and extended the expected range of travel by over 45 miles.8,0 Very Good

The staff was nice and the drop-off was easy.Cons:
The car was not clean. There was a filmy goo-type substance on the dash and interior. It also smelled faintly of cigarettes. It was also the oldest rental car I've ever driven and it was frustrating that I couldn't even hook up my Bluetooth music because the car was so old.10,0 Wonderful

I called to extend my contract for a day and was quoted (automated) 100 dollars extra, then transferred to an agent. The agent was abrupt and offered no help even though I had a quote on my contract of 34 dollars, as well as Kayak.com to rerent. I actually had to drive to the airport to rerent.Dollar

Dog hair in the car when we picked it up. Was given a number in case there was any problems and it was a wrong number. Never got the problem taken care of so we cleaned it up ourselves. Chey cruz is laid out in a very poor fashion. Hated off feature when you stop, hated dashboard, hated trying to find radio station. I will request not to have a chevy in the future. Windshield wipers were horribleCons:

John was very accommodating and the airport was easy to move around. He even went out and got the car for us as my husband is handicapped and we were his last customer.Cons:
The wait time at the airport desk to get the car that was already reserved. John needed help that day! He was very nice, but out-manned with the requests for cars at the time. Wish we could have had a van instead of an SUV. Cost was HIGH I thought compared to a van rental for the same number of days in Florida.6,0 Okay

Gas mileage was great. Prepay your return tank price was well below current price in the area. Still the best price for my area over Enterprise.Cons:
Car windows were so dirty I had to stop and clean them before I could drive anywhere. Rental car fees are just outrageous.I prepaid the car on a credit card but you still get socked for a $200 depisit on top of the rental fee.5,6 Fair

Pros:
I got to Jacksonville,NC airport late, around 11pm on the 30th of July. There was a Hertz employee; African american female w/ glasses. She was the most pleasant, most helpful and understanding young lady I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. She stayed and waited for my delayed flight to arrive even though she had to be back to work on the 31st at 7am. She took the time to answer all my questions and even though she was tired she was extremely pleasant and helpful. I must admit it is because of this wonderful young lady when i will most certainly use HERTZ again.Cons:
