I had a reservations and was told by Juan that the inventory is not updated on the website and they had no cars available. He lacked customer interpersonal skills and was not very welcoming to myself or other customers. Perhaps training is needed considering working with the public. Customer service goes a long way. As a result, I rented with Alamo.

Cons:

Hertz and I made a contract for a week long cargo van rental for a business trip. A full week before I needed it. They confirmed the contract twice. I arranged for someone to drop me off to pick up the cargo van. Upon arrival at the pick up location, there was no cargo van. It wasn't even a Hertz location so I could not remedy the situation on site. I returned home and called Hertz. I eventually had to ask the representative to stop apologizing and start problem solving. I had to basically coach the representative to find me a replacement van at another location. In order to get it I had to pay for another rental and wait several days for a refund of the other. After three hours, several gallons of gas, and my drop off person being late for work I had a van. Which I then discovered had damage, a burnt out light, and less gas and more mileage than stated on the contract. It eventually got sorted out but I will not be working so hard to give Hertz my money in the future. That $75 credit for a future rental I won't use with this company does not compensate the expenses incurred due their broken contract.

Pros:

Not much. Stood waiting at the counter while the agent was engaged in a personal conversation with someone without a mask. She could not answer questions about the drop off, and could not provide a phone number for the drop off location. Was overcharged for a full tank of gas at the dropoff location, which I will dispute. Refused a paper receipt at dropoff and was told I would get an emailed receipt. When I questioned what the charge would be for fuel, the agent said he did not know. The emailed receipt shows a charge for a full tank of gas, when the tank was over half full. That charge will be disputed. I will try to avoid Thrifty in the future.

More attentive staff, provided with better information.
