Everything was close by and without hassle. I wanted to save a bit of money so reserved the smallest car I could even though there were 4 of us, and three are 6 foot or taller. They gave us a Suzuki hatchback and it was great. Lots of head room and leg room and very comfortable.The car was a little dirty. I think that's an Alaska thing. We found a sock in the back. Also something we did not know was the high price of the 5 minute ferry ride from airport to Ketchikan. Not the car rental company's fault, but a sticker shock for sure. $70 for 4 people and a car.

Helpful agentI'm recovering from a broken leg in the rental agent was very helpful and retrieve my car for me and pick me up right at curbside so I didn't have to walk out to the car couldn't ask for more than that

Ketchikan rentalCar was great, easy access and fast and courtesy service! Nice that they could sell the round-trip ferry pass in the car rental!

Nightmare Pick-Up!!!!!Car was adequateIn one word, pick-up was HORRENDOUS! After making the initial reservation, the email confirmation I received and printed off stated "off airport" pick-up. In Ketchikan, AK there is a ferry that runs every 1/2 hour to/from airport/city side. Made my way down to the ferry terminal after picking up my luggage just as it pulled away, so waited 1/2 hour to catch ferry from airport to city side. Upon arriving on the city side, I contacted EZ Car Rental to let them know I was there and they said they'd send a van right over to pick me up...had to call again after 20 minutes and no van, which finally arrived another 10 minutes after that. Driver confirmed my name for pick-up...only problem was I wasn't the party he expected to pick-up. After providing my name, he called the office and I was told my pick-up was on the airport side! I showed driver my email confirmation that specifically stated "off airport" pick-up, and he didn't have an answer. Made my way back to the ferry terminal with my luggage just as it was pulling away, so had to wait another 1/2 hour for the next ferry! Finally arrived on the airport side only to find there was nobody at the EZ Car Rental counter! Made several calls to the Ketchikan office and each time was told they're trying to contact the employee that was supposed to be there. The gentleman at the next door Budget counter was very helpful and made several unsuccessful attempts via cell phone and text to contact the EZ rental employee. Finally, after a 45 minute wait, the employee showed...by this time I was livid, and the employee was very apologetic and provided a minor discount upon my demand. Once I finally got to the car (tank only 3/4 full), and loaded my luggage, I made my way to the ferry terminal...just as it pulled away. So had to wait another 1/2 hour for the next one! Are you serious?!?!? Had the email confirmation correctly stated that the car pick-up was on the airport side, I would've just picked up my luggage, walked over to the counter and been merrily on my way with no delay. Instead, it ended up being a three hour pick-up fiasco! Come on EZ Car Rental, get your act together if you want to have ANY chance to successfully compete against the big boy car rental agencies! Keep up this level of service and you'll warrant a name change from "EZ" Car Rental to Nightmare Car Rental!
