it was a fast check in and check outthe car was dirty and it looked like they did not put any effort to clean the outside we were additional charges I had to pay for my husband to drive the car even though we are married and on the same policy

The staff in Columbia were friendly at purchase. However, the car I rented began to have issues about an hour into the drive. I called the initial rental office and they basically said "find another Hertz and exchange it". That is quite difficult today while driving down the interstate in a place you do not know. I had to call back and ask them to please at least look up a place for me to go. They told me the airport. This added an hour to my drive in a car that was having trouble speeding up when I pushed the gas. The airport people were very unfriendly and I was not at all happy with the entire experience. THEN they charged me an "exchange fee and gas cost!!!!"Employees were only doing the minimum for their jobs. There is no extra help if you have an issue with the car.

Staff was friendly. My husband made the reservation in his name when the car was for me. So, we cancelled the reservation in his name and put it in mine; otherwise, we would have to pay extra to add a driver which an increase in price wasn't disclosed until I asked. They honored the original price. However, since it was prepaid, the staff said it would take several weeks for a refund. We will monitor our credit card and dispute the charge if it isn't removed from my husband's account. I just hope we don't have to go to that trouble and the refund will go through as it should.When we were going over the car, it was dirty. The Hertz staff said she had nowhere to get the car washed. What? So, I am driving a dirty car in a time businesses are stating they are disinfecting and cleaning things better than before. I thought this was unacceptable, but took the car anyway because I needed it and didn't have much if a choice.

I reserved an SUV with a third row, but when I went to the Hertz dealership they didn’t have a vehicle for me. They didn’t have one anywhere in the region. We needed the SUV for my family vacation and this issue caused a major problem for us.

It got us to point A to point BThe maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle. Also do was we didn’t have to pay anything for pick up and had to drop a 200 dollar deposit fee at arrive. The vehicle wasn’t even ready for us to pick up. Overall the staff were still nice.

Helpful staff, availability of drop-off after hours.Car could have been a little cleaner. I had to stop and clean the inside of the windshield because it was difficult to see through. smeared.

I arranged a different pickup location then previously established by travel agency and was told by your representative that I would not be double changed. However I was charged for renting a vehicle from both locations.
