Faro car hire

Cons: The drop off was a bit of a mess. I was sent to one office, then another where there was a queue but initially told I should go back to the first office before being told to join the second office with the long queue ... hope you’re still following. After that I’d to wait a further ten minutes before they realised that most of us in the queue were dropping off so they gave us priority as we had flights to catch. Other than that everything went well.

Cons: Price charged by Hertz was not in line with price quoted to me by Hertz agent.

Cons: We passed a Hertz lot off the freeway, spent a good 15mins trying to get to it only to find out that it wasn't the proper drop-off location. The paper work didn't have an exact address for drop off.

Cons: Nothing. All good.

Cons: The line to pick up was a joke... After getting off the plane the last thing you want to do is stand idly in a queue, and to make matters worse all the other car rental places were queue-free

Cons: The women at the counter were not helpful and the service was poor. They did not know the terms and conditions of the company (i.e. what coverage is included in a specific fare) and they didn’t have them handy so we could read them ourselves. After asking several times for them, they realized they were framed in small print on the wall right next to them. The car report was missing several damages so we had to take photos upon picking it up. There also seems to be a glitch on the website as I could not access the terms and conditions for the Avis office in Faro in English, even if that was an option on your menu. This would all have been ok had the Avis staff been more professional and experienced.

Cons: We felt like we were forced into paying for insurance and that this was a hidden fee that made the rental not nearly the deal that we thought it was when we booked online. Staff were helpful and pleasant and the car was fine, but we felt a little bit like we had been taken advantage of.

Cons: My mistake I fueled the hire car with diesel instead of petrol and it cost me €350 ... ouch

Cons: Car inspection before and after all done in darkness. We ended up paying for tyre damage which we didn’t do. When they inspected vehicle st the end of the hire they ignored all the dents and bashes shown at pick up but went straight to one of the tyres and pointed out where it had been kerbed!!!!

Cons: we had to pay a hidden extra 50 euro tax which there was no real reason for
