Good price comparing to other places around. Very good location, you can easily get around to the most famous attractions.
Staff doesn’t speak English that much. No common area to chill. Rooms a bit small.
Good environment and friendly staff. Generally good position
Not the best choice as concern the toilets (small toilets have to be shared with many people) and the aeration of the rooms
It was close to the metro station and the hypermarket, the room size was sufficient and the room was quiet (I stayed in 6-bed female dormitory, first room downstairs).
The worst thing was a constant unpleasant smell in both the room and in the bathroom attached to the room. The aircon was dripping, as well as some pipes on the ceiling, so it felt quite humid in the room. It was not possible to close the window and everyone knows that the window should not be open if the A/C is on... There was no common area (or kitchen) apart from the three bar stools when you just enter the hostel. The bed was quite hard, I didn't mind that much, but someone might. The people staying there were mostly Chinese staying long term. This was the cheapest hostel when I made a booking, but it was really not THAT cheap for that to be an excuse for all these things I listed. Unless you're on a really strict budget, not staying in Beijing for more than 2-3 days and planning to be outside 90% of the day, pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.
We asked for a night check in and they answerd that was no problem but when we arrived there was just a guy sleeping on the floor... After 20 minutes of call he woke up he say “no no no” and back to sleep. We woke him up again asking for a room or even a bed in dormitory but we had the same answer “no no no”. We had to wait 6 hours before they give us a room. Wi fi is not working.
Good location and very friendly manager. Really helpful in assisting with taxis and other issues that arose with our group during our time at Sunrise hostel.
The room was quite dark, hot, and not so clean. The bathroom often smelled and was not maintained enough for a room of 6 people.
