I really loved the general vibe, there's a big dancing space with a bar downstairs which was very fun and breakfast was also awesome. Check in fast and simple, friendly staff
Unfortunately we had the worst experience ever inside the room at night. Two men were in the same room with us, one was extremely loud and rude and both snored incredibly incredibly loud (and both of which could have been my dad even though the website says people above 35 don't sleep in dorms). So that last fact was quite uncomfortable since me and my fried are 23 year old females. One of the men talked loudly on WhatsApp at 3am inside (!!!), when he wasn't busy snoring and refused to be quiet when we asked nicely. Of course this isn't directly the hostel's fault, but the loud construction noises at sunrise on our floor is. Nobody informed us in advance and I guess I'm writing this so you take ear plugs if you go there. Although I had my noise cancelling hesdphones on with music playing and could still here everything from the corridors of all the floors. I stayed in a lot of hostels and this is my first bad review, but I wish they would sort people reasonably, age wise. That was the main issue for us. All and all good hostel but if you're not in Amsterdam for the techno parties and value sleep I'd stay somewhere else.
> Location is perfect > Walking distance to almost all I need as a solo tourist/traveler
> Very moist, lot of children, bathroom is messy, it’s stink
The location and the people was incredible. the security too.
All i liked me
Was a lovely little hostel w a great location and lots of activities !
Would have been cool if the staff knew a little more about the area like for restaurants etc
The staff was really nice and helpful.
My uncomfortable stay was entirely due to the context of my situation. I just needed a place to crash for a night so that I could pick up a friend from the airport early the next day. First I got placed in a mixed dorm where I was the only woman. I walked into a room full of shirtless men who all knew each other and didn't expect me. Since I was the only person in the room they didn't know, they all wanted to get to know me, when all I wanted to do was go to sleep. I asked for my room to be changed, which was possible. I was surprised to find nobody in my new room until a few hours later when I was woken up by another group of people who all knew each other and were surprised to find me sleeping in "their" room. I ended up pretending I was asleep, and they spent hours in disappointment, because they clearly planned to party all night in the room. I felt unwelcome and in the way. I never had a situation like this before in other hostels, and maybe it was just bad luck. Either way, I don't feel good about booking here again.
