Pros:
The room I had was perfectly set up for business with a desk and high speed WiFi connection. Huge bathroom and huge bedroom with first class amenities and heating. The communal areas were excellent and in terms of décor it was like stepping back in time to a hotel from 100 years ago. Excellent value, especially for the price. Staff were also friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in Spokane on either a short or long stay.

Pros:
I loved the romance of the historic building. The art. Thee big bright 2nd floor common area.
Cons:
The stench of whatever overpowering "scent" they used. Horrible, like bottles of perfume had been spilled. It was even worse in the room than the common areas and no ability to open a window to clear the smell out.

Pros:
Sometimes when you stay at a historic property you have to sacrifice quality, not here. Beautiful place, excellent rooms, and at a great price. Restaurant downstairs is beautiful with great food and excellent staff. Would stay again and again

Pros:
The hotel was very charming and warm. It was in a good location downtown town and they had adequate parking on-site. I t was well lite and secure.
Cons:
Really enjoyed the vintage beauty and cleanliness of this hotel. With that said I would ask for a room on the top floor because the floors are vintage too. Meaning they sqeak alot when other people walk the floors. But it is only bothersome if you are sensitive to usual sounds.

Pros:
Large, comfortable and very clean rooms. Very large bathroom, I was able to move around easily especially during this time of me wearing a walking boot due to injury. Beautiful artwork and lovely antique furniture. Nice lounge area on the second floor with vies from the third floor. Great complimentary coffee. The staff is professional and courteous, we are definitely staying here again.

Pros:
Really adorable historic stay! I loved the elegant music and relaxing common area on the second floor to sit by the fire and read. Room was huge and warm and comfortable. Very adorable!
Cons:
Bathrooms could use more effort. We're dated and oddly colored didn't suit the rest of the hotel. Stairs were super creaky haha but not much they can do perhaps. The unicorn in the hotel should make better cocktails. Would bring the place up a bit.

Pros:
I loved the decor - it felt so luxurious. The surrounding neighborhood was wonderful to stroll around, and the nightlife seemed really interesting. Everything about this place is thoughtful and enjoyable.
Cons:
The complimentary breakfast was nothing to brag about, but it rarely is, and it didn't diminish my experience one bit. There are plenty of places nearby to enjoy a more full breakfast experience.

Pros:
The room was great, and the history and character were well preserved through the restoration. The hotel will be even better when the surrounding construction is finished.
Cons:
No in house breakfast, but they offered discounts and complimentary breakfast at the Ruby Hotel, less than a block away.

Pros:
Picked the Montvale for it's location and price, was very pleased with the quality of our room. I would say adult only simply because of it's location to bars (they're good bars though) and lack of breakfast options in the immediate vicinity. But the Satellite Diner and Sante are only short walk away. We also discovered that Post Street Ale House serves breakfast, which was awesome.
Cons:
The Montvale nor Hotel Ruby are really set up to serve a proper breakfast, props on the Thomas Hammer Coffee though. Luckily there are food options downtown. Post Street Ale House serves awesome breakfast nachos and Sante is a personal favorite for breakfast.

Pros:
Loved the old class with a touch of modern. Breakfast was a block away, and small amount of parking. But if you love the elegance of 1800's architecture; then this is a definite yes!

Pros:
Large rooms, comfy beds, right across the street from the fabulous Fox theater and an historical building to boot.
Cons:
Being only three floors high, there is a bit of street noise heard in the rooms. Nothing the hotel can do about it.

Pros:
When we were looking for somewhere to stay Montvale seemed great because it is located right in the middle of downtown, just a walking distance from everything. It seemed great.
Cons:
When we got there however we found the site we reserved the hotel through wasn't as truthful as we thought. There was no hotel parking so we drove around for 20 minutes trying to find somewhere to park, there was a $30 fee we were not informed of in case of damages that I haven't even received back, and if you are under 21 you have to have someone at least 21 staying with you which the site did not say either. All these things could've cause my trip to Spokane to go very badly if I hadn't conveniently been able to work around them. Also when we FINALLY found a spot and went inside the lobby there was no one at the desk. We waited for a good 10 minutes and no one showed up, it was only about 10:30 pm when we arrived. I finally used the phone and called the number on the desk they left and no one answered until the second time I called. After another 10 minutes we received our room keys and went inside. I was exhausted from driving for 8 hours and immediately went into the bathroom to take a bath. In the bathtub there were about 5 hairs. Of different colors and lengths that were not mine. It grossed me out so much I just went to sleep instead. All in all the trip went very well and I was grateful for the tea and coffee the hotel served night and day even though there were a few bits I did not expect.

Pros:
I really liked the bargain price and the New Orleans vibe at the Montvale. Location is great across from the Fox theatre and close to everything.
Cons:
The first night was fine but you have to block out the train noise if you are facing west. 2nd night there were 4 people sharing 1 room and stayed up partying all night waking me up multiple times. Very thin walls. I did like the hotel and the price. Maybe better luck next time.

Pros:
High ceilings, fun interior, historic feel, nice staff
Cons:
The hotel is right in between the train tracks, where trains run all night, and show venues like Fox Theater, Knitting Factory and Bing Crosby Theater, which all had shows during my Saturday night stay. I had a room on the second floor with windows facing Monroe street so I got to enjoy the cacophony of train and partygoer squeals with street traffic all night. The interior is also quite squeaky and I heard the conversation in the room next to me at 1AM quite clearly along with some constant "floor squeaks" from the room above. I am happy that others are enjoying their stays and probably would've joined them if this visit wasn't for somber family business (which admittedly most likely made me hyper aware of my surroundings). Since the surrounding venues draw lots of attendees, parking was scarce and I was forced to pay $15 for "event rates" at a lot next to the hotel (which completely absorbed the "savings" I had when I booked the hotel a week ago). There is no onsite pub - but there is a restaurant with a small lounge called Scratch that sat about 40 and they were welcoming and nice. All in all - will not be staying at the Montvale Hotel again and would not recommend it to family or friends.

Pros:
The classic decor and style of the place. It's location to food, entertainment , and the freeway. It was cheap.
Cons:
It was noisy, between the creaking of the floorboards from the upstairs guest, to hearing the conversations from the other side of the walls, to the freight trains that roll through it was pretty hard to sleep or relax.. The wifi is painfully slow. I wouldn't stay again.
