Pros: Lush with plants, trees, a true jungle experience with all your amenities. Birds singing every morning.
Cons: The TV wasn’t working great for the soccer game Italy against UK.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Most beautiful place I’ve been at. This was an amazing stay. Very close to San Ignacio for food and Xunantunich as well which is great.
Cons: Lots of bugs but really no mosquitos in the peak of mosquito season so nothing to get bit by. Services are very expensive, drinks pretty well priced for a resort though.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Hotel was beautifully landscaped. Very peaceful, spa like. Staff was attentive but not over bearing and helpful with everything. They have a spa, pool, and yoga on site.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Quiet, great staff and location.
Cons: Need a bit more variety on the food menu.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The resort is very well kept, clean, and luxurious. The staff is friendly, offers excellent customer service and responsive to our requests. The room was made twice daily.
Cons: Our room 14 did not have a card key but old school keys.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: I loved everything about the property. It was gorgeous and clean. The staff was all so incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help me and my friend on multiple occasions. The food was 5 star quality, as were the drinks. I cannot speak highly enough of this resort, but I do know that I will be booking this hotel the next time I stay in San Ignacio. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!
Cons: Nothing.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff was fantastic!! Very friendly and told us interesting facts about the resort, trees, and wildlife. The facility was beautiful and clean. Would definitely stay here again!!
Cons: Everything was great!!!
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Super comfortable beds, drinks delivered to your suite or pool, iguanas wandering the property and ample bird life, beautifully developed spaces, with tiki torches, candles, comfy chairs, art
Cons: We had a car, so could drive the less than 5 minutes into the town if San Ignacio for a meal or drive to Mayan sites for tours. I highly recommend having a car.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: So much to like at this resort! The most impressive thing about ka'ana is the customer service. It is second to none. If you go to Belize and are on the mainland you have to stay at Ka'ana.
Cons: No worries you like the whole experience

Excellent 10,0
Pros: I was expecting very basic space, but the hotel has such a fabulous, funky vibe, very charming! The rooms were very clean and spacious; the AC was very welcome. There was a communal kitchen to use and a rooftop that overlooks the city. A few blocks from the area of embarkation for many tours.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff super friendly, showed me places to go eat and for breakfast and assisted me in booking an airport shuttle
Cons: Internet was most working very well and there was no safe in the room
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The staff was very courteous and the services really catered to allowing guests a wonderful experience.
Cons: There was no cable tv for some reason.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Spacious room ( 5) and bathroom, good a/c, great roof terrace, lovely kitchen on Second floor for making breakfast.
Cons: Some traffic noise and the inevitable barking dogs. Bring earplugs!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: This hotel is spotless! Staff service is excellent. All were very helpful. The location is close to the downtown core of San Ignacio. Just a bit of a hill to reach it from downtown. Stairs are involved to reach your room. Location also offers Rum tasting, Marie Sharp hot sauce and jams tasting and a cooking class. The chef, William, took 6 of us through a four hour hands on local food cooking class complete with rum drinks and a wonderful Belizean dinner made collectively by our group under his guidance. It was fun and he is emailing the recipes to us all so we can try it at home! Highly recommend this activity!
Cons: The exterior of the building is a little worse for wear but it is the interior and the service that are important!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: You have to take the Rum Tasting Class with Luid.
Good 6,0
Pros: Clean
Cons: Poor Wifi connection

Excellent 10,0
Pros: All of the staff are super friendly and go above and beyond in customer service! The pool was fanatic and a beautiful area to relax in.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This was our anniversary trip and - I left our passports in the room!! Yes I did. We didn't realize it until we got to the airport in Belize City. When I called & spoke to the front desk they found the passports and since the manager was going into Belize City the next day he went to the airport and had them sent to us on Tropic Air to San Pedro. The staff at San Ignacio Resort Hotel are just the best. And, I mean everyone.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Staff is great The restaurant is facing the jungle
Cons: Everything but the shower floor with black mold
Excellent 9,0
Pros: I loved that everyone was soooo nice and friendly!
Cons: I didnt like the complimentary items left in d room. For the price we paid, I expected more than just 4 bottles of water and coffee that wasn't tasty at all.
Excellent 10,0
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The food was so good. The restaurant is known for its steak but even the pizza was good. The staff is amazing, they somehow remember your name. It's incredible. The location is nice as its within walking distance to town & Cahal Pech Mayan Ruin the tour guide at the ruin was very informative. We stayed in the Regal room and it was very nice.
Cons: There are stairs everywhere so it wouldn't be a good location for anyone that has a hard time with stairs.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The hotel was in a great location, which allowed us to explore the area very easily. It sits above the downtown area of San Ignacio, but it is still within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking, then taxis are cheap. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities are very comfortable with a great pool and outdoor dining area.
Cons: The hotel was under construction, which definitely took away from the ambiance. We didn't loud experience any early morning construction, but the hotel wasn't looking its best.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room was cool and brightly decorated. The pool area was a little oasis. The staff were fantastic, so welcoming and helpful. The food at Nature’s kitchen was the best we’d had during our trip.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Staff were very nice and welcoming. Loved touring the grounds with all the gardens and lush scenery.
Cons: The beds weren’t very comfortable and water pressure wasn’t great. The lodging fee was very reasonable but we found the price of food to be a little high.
Good 7,9
Pros: Lovely jungle lush garden setting. Loved the porches and hammocks. Lots of birds. Rooms not big but ok. Bathroom good. Restaurant good food but pricey.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Good spot in the hills. Seems like the perfect getaway for an eco-friendly and yoga-style retreat.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The location in the jungle was amazing. Was great to see that they grew some of their own produce
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Cookery course and setting. Very friendly and extremely helpful to sort any requirement out. Local employees gives a special added bonus to learn about the country.
Cons: For tall people the double bed was small and sleep did not come easily!
Excellent 10,0

Excellent 8,0
Pros: The staff was wonderful. The cabins were comfy and well-equipped. There is really nice network of hiking trails and the trails are beautiful and well-maintained, though many of the trails need to be driven to.
Cons: The environment is not totally as anticipated. We expected a bit more biodiversity than we encountered, but the area is still nice. The menu at the restaurant was also quite pricey and there was some confusion as to whether or not breakfast was included. The lodge is rather difficult to get to and one does need a 4x4.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Setting. Quiet. So many trails. Wonderful views and walking/hiking. Good food. Very attentive friendly staff.

Pros: Clean roons,, nice staff, great nature.

Pros: Entire stuff is extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is located in an amazing area so you can enjoy hiking and a day in the private creek pools. Lots of activities around:) Also the food in the hotel was very good and in reasonable price. We would definitively come back here.
Cons: Really nothing to complain about.

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Location
Excellent 10,0
Pros: the room was so nice and extremely underrated for the price
Okay 4,0
Pros: Quiet
Cons: The building is outdated
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Centrally located and super close to the bus stop. A/c and shower was great. Staff was super helpful with booking tours and giving recommendations.
Cons: Not easy to meet people if you are traveling solo. WiFi is spotty in the room, but worked fine in the main front office area.
Good 6,0
Pros: The location of the hotel was great for our family. Near restaurants and the bus stops, it made for easy planning. The room’s A/C unit and ceiling fan made for cool sleeping.
Cons: The shower had no hot water and a tiny sink. There was very little counter space or tabletop for use to set things upon. The mattresses were very firm, bordering on hard. As we were traveling during COVID/post vaccination, there was no daily room service. That said, we could have asked for towels and service at any point, and the staff would have responded kindly and efficiently.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Really enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend that if you are a light sleeper or go to bed very early that you request a rear or side room as the noise from the street (and the bar across the street) is very noticeable. There is a pool available at a sister property, but you may need to ask. Feet from a bar and a block's walk from the best Belizean breakfast in the country - Pop's!
Cons: Street noise from below was pretty loud and made us wonder if the window was open. Night staff was great and would provide towels for the pool if requested. Day staff, not so much.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Wish we’d found this one earlier. It was everything we needed at a very affordable price. Best of all was the location - step out of the hotel upon the charming promenade street at the heart of San Ignacio.
Cons: Bring your own ice.

Excellent 9,0
Pros: Beautiful property in the middle of the Belizean jungle- impeccable service, delicious food, beautiful lodging, great outdoor activities either onsite or close by. If you are going to Belize, you should schedule a few days in the Cayo district to enjoy the nature, adventure, and history. And this is absolutely the place to stay if you can get in.
Cons: This is in a remote area and while the property provides almost everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel, there isn’t air conditioning and it’s hard to keep things dry with brief, periodic rains. They provide quick and inexpensive laundry services, but you should bring plastic bags to store wet shoes (at least during the rainy season).
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Chaa Creek was recommended by a friend, and had a big reputation to live up to - which it did, and more. The property, rooms, staff, and tours were all fabulous for our family. Chaa Creek Lodge and grounds were beyond beautiful, and their tag line “wildly civilized luxury” totally fit. It was a joy to let it all soak in. We loved the infinity pool, which was big enough for my teenagers to have fun goofing around, while adults enjoyed a social drink, or moment of peace. What a great way to end a day of tours! The restaurant ambiance was perfect either inside or out, and we loved the fresh, delicious, well-presented food and drink. We were beyond thrilled with our Macal River View Suites, which was perfect for our family of four. The spacious and luxurious suite of two rooms, two patios, and bathroom; comfortable beds, tall thatched roof; mahogany wood; and, artful decor made me happy and never want to leave. I had been worried about the summer heat, but the fans kept us cool and we slept soundly. But the best part of the lodge was the friendly and helpful staff, who made staying there a true joy. At each point of contact the people were great, from answering my many questions before arrival via chat, to our great overview with welcome drink at check-in, my multiple conversations organizing tours with the knowledgeable, efficient, and patient concierge, the bartenders, wait staff, cleaning staff, and everyone were just great. And finally, our tours were fantastic! Xunantunich was especially lovely with our wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He did a great job of reading his audience, answering our questions, and weaving interesting Mayan stories with nature, world history, and present day - again, exceeding expectations! We also loved the in-site jungle amenities and paths, as well as our casual river tube float down the river. We’re so happy we chose Chaa Creek, and only wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: N/A
Excellent 9,0
Pros: What an incredible place. Beautiful grounds, great facilities, really good food and wonderful staff. So many activities also, many of which were free. We will be coming back in the future for another stay!
Cons: The only downside is that many of the traditional lodges are without air conditioning since they are basically open air. They are sealed with netting that prevents any bugs from getting in and you really feel like you are sleeping outside in the jungle with all the wonderful noises. There are ceiling fans and other fans if you need them, and after a day or so you get used to the heat.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The rooms are private villas set for n the most beautiful serene spots all over the property, to get the most of the jungle sounds and sights. The staff makes this place special, they are attentive to every need and kind and friendly. From Saul the bartender, to Marcos, Jessie, Myra,Joel, cara and the wait staff, to Leonso, meshak, Alexy, ronell and Miguel- the guides, they are all very knowledgeable and work very long hours to accommodate your every need! Ben and Jessica at concierge were great too, and miss marisella the resident cooking teacher was so sweet! The naturalists are very impressive of their knowledge of birds, sounds, plants and animals and share the information freely. The food was amazing too! I could go on and on! Loved our stay here!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 9,0
Pros: superb kept property, very convinient rooms, excellent bed quality, very engaged and polite personel, good tour excursions especially the horse riding
Cons: breakfast average ( poor fruit salad), food in general ok but soups are rediculous small
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Some of the things we loved about Chaa Creek were the food, the drinks, the guides and the ease and organization of excursions. Our family of 4 (kids age 9 and 11) did the ATM tour, Caves Branch tubing, Tikal, Xunantunich, and Barton Creek cave canoeing. The property is beautiful. It’s like what you picture when someone says “luxury jungle hideaway”
Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the Lodge at Chaa Creek. It was an expensive splurge for us. But we feel that we got such a high level of service, quality, attention, comfort, and fun in return that it was worth the price tag.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Fantastic eco resort with multiple level$ of lodging. Tours can be pricey but, the level of care and attention to detail validates the cost. The on site activities are a wonderful added value. We also found the staff to be some of the best parts of our experience at Chaa Creek. Would definitely go back.
Cons: We eat a whole foods, plant based, vegan diet. Chaa Creek was extremely accommodating to our requests. Our one suggestion would be to educate the kitchen on the depth of what “whole foods, plant based” means. They would find a very receptive crowd and it would tie in nicely to their eco friendly message.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: The front desk and all the staff worked really hard to make sure all our needs were met even as our needs changed due to the weather conditions.
Cons: I liked it all.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly, great and helpful with a full access tour desk. The 3 pools were really nice with an amazing view. Each room has a balcony with a great view also. The breakfast was really good, cost about $4.50 U.S. the drinks are strong too. The Mayan site next door is a must see also.
Cons: The Bungalows are a great little unit but our particular one had an AC unit that just couldn't keep up. We spent our first night dying of heat. But the next day they switched us to a hotel room as we asked with a working AC. They have grass roofs that just don't keep the cool in and I can't sleep when it's hot. The WiFi in the hotel rooms is non existent. You pretty much have to go down by pool or bar for wifi.
Okay 5,0
Pros: Was to be $10 per person but was more.
Cons: No water or cups in the room for drinking.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The view from the resort was phenomenal. It is located at the top of the hill so you can see a lot. The rooms were ok but it was comfy for a family of four. The food was okay but worth a walk to some other local restaurants.
Cons: The food was average. Definitely worth your time to walk into town to get some local food. The drinks at the bar seemed kind of weak.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The Cahal Pech Village Resort is the perfect place to stay in San Ignacio, perched on a hill overlooking the city you will feel like you are in the highlands of Central Africa. Pool right above the city is majestic - also great location to the Cahal Pech site only a 5 min walk from the property. The rooms are a good size though don’t gave stuff like a fridge. The bathroom was a beautiful color. Staying in the cabanas is a must - you will feel like you are in your own enclosure and have a hammock to relax on. Staff was very pleasant and helpful!
Cons: I love walking and trekking so I didn’t mind the 5-7 minute walk straight uphill to the town area but some people might. It takes about 25 minutes to walk from the hotel to the downtown market area.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Property on the mountain, 2 min walking to cahal pech ruins. Amazing view, great restaurant/bar and friendly staff.
Cons: No fridge, microwave or safe.
Good 6,0
Pros: Everyone is nice and accommodating. Great views from pool/restaurant area!
Cons: It felt like a nice hostel to us. Bungalows are cool to stay in, but beds/towels/etc are very basic. Our shower hardly worked. AC couldn’t keep up, but we got extra fans and it cooled off. The main bathroom to use when in restaurant/pool area is quite atrocious.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Location amazing and staff super friendly.

Pros: The view was spectacular. The staff was really accommodating. We got a load of laundry done for $9USD. The meals were good and they were able to provide a tour to Rio Frio Caves and waterfalls. You could stay here as an all inclusive.
Cons: The mattresses were uncomfortable. When the budget allows, they are probably ready to be replaced. According to the map, the hotel was close to town. The hill to get to the hotel is really steep. Nothing they can do about this, just be aware. It is possible to walk it, but not an easy walk. A mini fridge would have been a great addition.
Excellent 9,1
Pros: The staff at Cahal Pech were so friendly and accommodating, they were like family! The tours they set up for us we great!

Excellent 10,0
Pros: The location is unbeatable, on a beautiful waterfall surrounded by equally beautiful jungle. You feel like you’re in the treetops while you’re there. The staff all go above and beyond, and made our stay amazing. It feels like you’re part of a Gaia family while you’re there.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff were prompt, amazingly nice and the environment was impressive. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the area!
Cons: It was farther out from San Ignacio - so I would recommend having a car and driving out yourself!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Perfect getaway! No phone signal no wifi in the cottages was just perfect for me
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The view and the staff are really what make Gaia exceptional. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. Even though we had a lot of rain during our stay, we still enjoyed the waterfall seating area and scenery. The food is delicious and fresh from their garden. The location of the lodge is absolutely stunning with a view of the waterfalls, forest and valley.
Cons: The breakfast that was "included" was only a piece of toast and some fruit, so don't be fooled by the "full breakfast" mentioned on the booking.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: It was just great! Very very friendly staff, very nice welcome incl. welcome drink, great room with fresh air, stunning view, delicious cocktails and good food, very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, great place at the waterfalls...and they even permitted a late check-out - thank you for this flexibility and thank you so much for making our weekend so great!

Okay 4,0
Pros: The pool and the Bartender at the pool. The drinks were really good.
Cons: The customer service. The Ac of the rooms were not turn on before we arrived so the rooms were hot. Some of the AC were not working. The room attendant would go to the room and not give enough clean towels or toilet paper.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The staff there went above and beyond our expectations

Good 6,8
Pros: good location, quiet
Cons: Lots of little flaws, luke warm hot water, lights out, cracked mirror, missing screen. but overall ok place.
Excellent 8,2
Pros: The cabana was awesome, as well as the staff. Beautiful pool with poolside bar. Centrally located in the heart of San Ignacio.
Cons: No telephones in the rooms. No ice machines at the resort. Also no little mini refrigerators or microwaves in rooms. Also charge to bring a guest to the resort to use the pool even when accompanied by a paying guest
Excellent 8,5
Pros: Location and rooms are great
Cons: No ice for in room or efficiencies
Good 6,0
Pros: The cabana was awesome. Nice pool. Great location. Nice little restaurant and poolside bar.
Cons: Front desk staff was not informative on extra charges. I was charged 15.00 per guest to spend time with us at the pool. That is ridiculous!! I booked the resort based on being able to meet with family and friends and enjoy the facilities at the resort. Didn't expect to be charged daily for that. We did spend money at the poolside bar for food and drinks. It's ashamed to be charged more then a room night to use the facilities. The WiFi is terrible unless you are by the pool or the deluxe rooms above the pool. I had no cellular service so I was dependent on WiFi to check email and communicate back to family in the US. I asked for a room closer to the pool to get reception and I was told that I could pay extra for a deluxe room above the pool. Not!!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The tours we booked through the resort were worry free. I had heard from some postings of challenges traveling to Tikal in Guatemala. We simply booked our tour ahead and brought our passports. They took care of everything. We had a great guide, rode in an air conditioned shuttle on both sides of the border and the guide was with us the entire time. On the way back we even had a late lunch in Guatemala where we could pick up some souvenirs. You MUST do this trip. Being only 2 hours from these ruins makes this a must see. Only $135 US PP was also a very fair price. Try breakfast at Pops as well. It's .. right behind the big yellow building in town. It has a very nice pool which we used after a long day of excursions in the heat.
Cons: Breakfast was good at the resort but less of a value then in town. Cabanas are great for 2 but kind of tight with 3. No drinking water in the room. Water was only available at the bar.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Love the location, amenities and staff. This is our second stay and I'm sure we'll be back. All of the Midas' staff is very conscientious but don't push you. Got help when we asked but were able to enjoy our vacation without pressure. Per the locals the temps were exceptionally hot this time so the bartender was willing to turn one of the TVs facing the pool to the NHL playoffs for my husband and son so they could watch the game from the pool. :-) Made their night, maybe the trip. We love the location is close to town, just past the park so we don't hear the town noises at night. Close enough if we want to stay out late, but far enough we were easily able to get away from it when we wanted to and walked everywhere. Oh and BWT bugs love me but it's never been a problem at Midas. That said, we went to dinner at a high end resort just out of town this time and I got eaten alive. Glad we were staying at Midas and not the other PS thought they had some of the best fry jacks in town.
Cons: Enjoyed the pool and it's surroundings, but for the number of people staying there at the time, it seemed loud kind of late at night.
Good 7,7
Pros: Ac was great, nice cafe on the premises, very near town, markets and other good restaurants, very clean. Friendly staff
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Comfortable pool, great bar and bartender, and cute/comfortable little cabins with beautiful grounds. We stayed here the night before heading up to Tikal and had a great time. The staff were very accommodating and we have no complaints.
Excellent 9,4
Pros: Delmi is the sole reason this resort runs well. Rooms were cute & comfortable. Location perfect. We never had to worry about sightseeing trips . She arranged everything with great guides. Talk about a jewel in the jungle!
Cons: Our room was not as advertised. Delmi made things right by upgrading to a lovely room.
Okay 5,4
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Staff very unhelpful unfriendly
Good 6,0
Pros: Great location-right outside the city so easy access, but away from noise. Staff was very friendly and pool was beautiful.
Cons: Not very impressed with the restaurant set-up. We went during the off season so this may be why it was slow and seemed unprepared. **If you are purchasing through Kayak and notice the Economy standard room-this is a SPARE ROOM. The spare room appeared clean, but we would share a bathroom with the room next door and bathroom/shower was across the hall. The bathroom was brand new and appeared clean, but we did not want to split with others. Also, this area was under loud construction during our visit in Dec 2015. We ended up upgrading to a cabana which was very nice.
Excellent 8,5
Pros: Good location that is slightly removed from the town but still close enough to walk to. Took the bus from Belize City that drops off in front of the tourism office and Midas was just close enough to comfortably walk to even with luggage. The restaurant had good food for breakfast but only tried the dinner on the first day when I was too tired to go into town to eat.
Cons: A trail of ants coming out of one of the light switches and a leaky toilet. Also the wifi is only in the common areas (restaurant, bar, and the yard) but I was able to get a working signal by sitting on the balcony.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice pool and bar area
Cons: Poor water pressure in shower, no coffe pot in room. Restaraunt not good
