People make the difference!
Pros: Dawn was exceptional in helping make transaction smooth & easy even when I complicated matters by changing type of vehicle I needed. She was fabulous!

Minimally large car for a full size
Pros: Hybrid had good gas mileage, staff members were friendly and explained options without being overly pushy
Cons: The Fusion was the only "full size" car available, and the hybrid battery took so much trunk space that it barely fit the description of fitting 2 large pieces of baggage, taking tremendous trickery to fit the bags in after each unload/reload. The satellite office was not very helpful in finding us a replacement full size car, but we managed through our trip. All other aspects of the car worked out well.

Allowed me to book a vehicle, even though they wer
Cons: I made a reservation in advance, and the website allowed me to do so. Paid for an Uber from the airport and arrived at Hertz on time. I was the only customer waiting, and there were two agents, yet it probably took about 10 minutes for one of them to engage me. When I told the agent I had a reservation, he kinda chuckled and said something along the lines of "Not today, buddy. We don't have any cars!" I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but that was a nightmare of a day. I wish the website would just say they're sold out, instead of allowing me to make a reservation. Ended up paying a few dollars more at Enterprise, which I should've done in the first place. Their service is unparalleled.

Beware of renting from Hertz in Salt Lake City thr
Cons: Car was off site, but that wasn't communicated by the 3rd party rental company. Cost $40 for a taxi from the airport to the car, then off-site Hertz location was closed. Had to wait 15 minutes to be let inside, then 20 minutes for a couple that was ahead of me...brought by Hertz rental agent.

Pros: Car was clean and in good shape. The Hertz people working that day were friendly.
Cons: Though I made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, a car was not ready and I waited for over an hour. The Hertz people were friendly, but appeared to be disorganized. It reminded me of the Seinfeld bit, "Yes, I know why we have reservations."
