Ibiza car hire

Depending on your plans, choose a smaller car for cruising through the city and avoid the hassle of finding a parking space. For a family vacation with trips to remote beaches, an SUV might be a better choice.

Adhering to the speed limits in Ibiza is crucial, as fines can quickly go up into the hundreds. 60 kph (37 mph) is allowed in the city, whereas land roads let you speed up to 80 kph (45 mph), and on the motorway 100 kph is permitted (62 mph). However, when driving on dirt tracks, always adapt the speed to the bumps and drive carefully.

Always pay attention to the color of the curb line. Yellow signals that parking is not permitted; blue designates a pay-to-park area and, if there is no line, parking is allowed free of charge. At the park meters, you can pay with coins or card, but parking is usually allowed for only up to 2 hours. For round-the-clock parking, opt for a parking lot like the Parking Es Pratet in Ibiza Town, which is about €2.50 ($2.81) per hour. There is also free parking available in the outskirts at Parking Es Gorg, from where a shuttle bus goes into Ibiza during the summer season.
