Cons: This was by FAR the worst experience. I was given an OFFROAD, lifted 4WD car. When asked if there was another, the employee was very rude and said "well this is all we have." I agreed due to lack of time. Then I realized there was 1/4 tank of gas. When I asked, she was very RUDE and said

Pros: The staff did change our price to reflect the lower class of vehicle that we were given.Cons: The car smelled badly and we were given the wrong class of vehicle.

Pros: Hertz staff were rude, not cooperative and failed to resolve a booking issue.Cons: The reservation was made under a search for a car rental at the New Orleans airport. The reservation process steered me to a Hertz in Harvey, Louisiana several miles from the airport. That location was closed by the time I arrived in New Orleans. Hertz at the airport refused to honor it.

Pick up location and staff was horriblePros: Drop off was easy.Cons: The pick up location had no sign indicating that it was a Hertz location. We drove around and around and finally stopped at a car dealership to ask where it was. It was IN the dealership. We were supposed to pick up at noon. The one and only employee was at lunch until 1pm. When he got there, he informed us that the car we reserved wouldn't be there until 3pm. We ended up getting charged for an upgrade but he gave us a few discounts to help cover the extra cost. He said that when you book a car through Kayak, you aren't guaranteed to get what you reserved. I will never rent a car from Hertz again.

Cons: The pickup and drop off were awful. The associates were not friendly and seemed inconvenienced that I was there. The pickup process took almost an hour

Cons: Had to clean the inside of the car myself after I picked it up. The car smelled so bad I had to buy an air freshener. There was melted chocolate in one of the cup holders. The radio didn't work at all, just static. The car had suffered some major hail damage. Easily the worst rental car I've ever had.

Kayak online car reservation failed badly by mixinPros: Hertz staff were courteous and helpful, but could not solve the problem caused by Kayak reservation. Second, it was vital that Hertz honored cancellation on the day of the pickup.Cons: I could not complete this rental due specifically to a Kayak reservation misleading information during online reservation. I searched for rental pickup at location in or near the New Orleans airport -- MSY. This is in Kenner, LA. I was given a good rate, for Hertz, and made the reservation. Only upon arrival and presenting myself at the Hertz airport counter did I learn that my reservation location was Harvey, LA, which is approximately 45 minutes distant by driving. This was unworkable, unacceptable. No useful mitigation was available-- my reservation would not be honored at the airport location, no pickup would be done. I made other arrangements. Hertz missed a chance for a one-week rental due to the online search and reservation system misinforming me.

Great servicePros: The young lady who served me, Diamond, as so helpful trying to get me the lowest possible price, and I really appreciated all her help.Cons: I thought the insurance fees were steep, but I'd have hated it more had the car been damaged.
