I accidentally placed an order for a car at a different hertz 25 minutes down the road. I thought I had ordered from the hertz by the airport. The rep I was working with wanted to help me but didn’t know how. It is also of note that the place 25 minutes away, closed at noon, and I had a 1 pm pick up. So even if I made it to the correct place, I would have still been out of a car. After the rep roamed the building for 15 minutes trying to find out how to help me he came back and told me I had to call the 1-800 number, that they couldn’t help me. I called, and every time the automated service would hang up on me. I was in town for a wedding, and fortunately a friend was able to come pick me up. While I waited, all the reps yelled to each other about looking forward to getting drunk that night, not once asking if I needed any help. Hertz should change their name to Hurts.

Staff are so rude.Very bad experience, very dirty and nasty inside.First safety, vehicle have lots of problems, without checking and any service, they put in rent and have shows lots of mechanical issues, on way driving, and this is very worse experience I get from hertz. I will never rent any car from this Hertz, and will never recommend to my friends and family.

E wry thing was tops. From check in to return. Chris was awesome. He explained everything. He Showed me the features of the can. He Gave me his hours in case I needed anything. Just really extended the customer service. I’d rent here again. BRAVO!!

The person that processed my transaction was friendly and efficientCar smelled like tobacco smoke and windshield was very dirty. Otherwise, everything was just as expected. The Corolla was comfortable.

We rented a cargo van, so the space was nice and the seats were super comfortable.Where to start? Van pickup-Van was dirty, there was writing on the driver's side window, and it only had 1/4 tank of gas. Total trip was 24 hours, van overheated 5 hours into trip. Coolant reservoir was empty so had to replace with 8 personal water bottles until we could get antifreeze. Called Hertz-could only get automated responses saying that it was upwards of 75 minutes to connect with an agent. Started texting and was told to drop off at nearest location, however, would not provide us with nearest location. Got antifreeze and refilled the reservoir which was empty again. Limped to destination for the night. Still not able to contact anyone from Hertz. Next morning, check the antifreeze and looked like it was holding. Drove 30 minutes, stopped to get gas and noticed fluids were leaking from the van. Again, called Hertz and nothing. Looked up the nearest Hertz, drove there only to find they were closed on Sundays. Find another Hertz, drove there only to find that location was closed permanently. Went into Budget (which was nearby to were Hertz was supposed to be) to see if we could rent something but they didn't provide one way rentals-at least we were able to talk with a real person. Budget told us to talk with Avis, which was located in the airport where Hertz was supposed to be. Walked into Avis and talked with Avis and Enterprise, who were both sold out. Told them our story about not being able to get in contact with anyone from Hertz-"no wonder they are going out of business". Avis & Enterprise, told us to take it to get fixed and gave us the name and address of repair shop. Took it to repair shop which fortunately was open on Sunday morning. Repair shop fixed a hose pipe that had come undone, and four hours later we were on our way. Had Hertz done an initial check of the van-they may have noticed something was amiss but my guess is their incompetence was the problem. Still no call or text to make sure we were alright, But it doesn't end there-time to take the van back. Our contract showed the address to drop off the van, and when we get there-there is not a Hertz in sight. Luckily, a security guard was able to point us in the right direction. We dropped off the car and were told to leave the keys in the car but never asked about our experience. Bottom line: we will never, ever, ever rent from Hertz again. It was the worst rental experience we have ever had. As Avis, Enterprise, Budget, and the repair guy said-"no wonder they are going out of business". They left us stranded and if it weren't for the fact my husband knows a little about cars, we could have been in real trouble. Thanks for nothing Hertz-no wonder you are going out of biusiness!

Have me an upgrade due to the high volume of business they have been experiencing. That was awesome, but they also we're turning vehicles around so quickly and focusing on sanitizing them that they did not have time to wash the exterior. Did not matter to me, it was just the only silly little thing I can say that wasn't flawless.

Patrick was very friendly.I think I could have saved a little more if I had used the 30% offer that was in my email; but, I ran out of time to change my reservation. On 2/4, I paid $136 for a one day rental, St. Louis, MO to Hickory, NC. On 2/10, I paid $36 for a 2-hour rental, Lynchburg, VA to Richmond, VA.

The vehicle was fine, Budget’s service was terrible!Car was clean, late model, ran well, no issues with the vehicle.The employee morale at the St Louis Airport Budget is terrible! Not one “hello” or smiling face during the entire car rental experience - both renting and returning. Things started at the airport with the Budget shuttle driver yelling at an elderly customer who was having difficulty boarding the shuttle. When we arrived at the service counter(shared with Avis rental car), we were met with a long line, we have no issues waiting in line, but since the counter is shared with Avis rentals it was confusing to figure out which side to it turned out, there’s only one line, but a simple sign or a door greeter would have been nice as many other customers were just as confused as we were. When we finally made it through the line and approached the service counter, I was checked in by a “Manager” who already looked annoyed, he mumbled every word he spoke and got visabily angry with me as I kept asking him to repeat himself. He didn’t have a speech impediment, I just couldn’t hear him speaking to me over the other customers and representatives. He whispered something to the representative sitting next to him while he could not find my reservation, at one point he handed me back my Govt. CC and ID and told me someone else whould finish helping me as he was going to take his break. I finally got the rental vehicle which ended being $110 more than the quoted price, I called the 1-800 number to try to figure out the price difference but gave up after being transferred several times, I had already taken possession of the vehicle, so I had my doubts they would be able to do anything about the price anyway. On return of the vehicle, we were once again met with a confusing experience, there was a rental return sign pointing to several lanes already full of returned vehicles, I had to weave my way through several lanes until I thought I found the right space, I stepped out of the vehicle and waited for an attendant to check the vehicle back in. After not being acknowledged for several minutes, I walked across the lot to ask another attendant what to do, he suggested that I just leave the vehicle and I would get my receipt emailed to me. I’m familiar with the car rental process at airports, I travel frequently for both work and pleasure. I’ve never had such a poor rental experience previously. This appears to be an employee morale problem much larger than a few disgruntled workers.

i rented a car from airport site using kayak. when i went to pick it up it was another site in town. kayak let me down..... budget helped me correct it.

Dodge Caravan is a must for long trips with familyThe ordering process was so simple I thought it was too good to be true. Loved the gps feature, backup camera, steering wheel functions, the fact that I could plug a regular plug in to an outlet, the huge space behind backseat for luggage, seats that folded down, seats that reclined so far it was almost like lying in bed, and ability to control each individual section's temperature. Also, I'm super grateful I was allowed to turn the auto in a few hours late with no charge. It's really hard to judge when you'll be home after driving through several states.The engine light was on so I was unable to use the autostart function...sad panda. Other than that, everything was great

a little slow...but flexibleI made a reservation without realizing I it was for a location other than the international airport location where I was arriving. It took a long time to get to the desk upon arrival. Once I got to the desk, I found out my mistake. To complicate matters, it was on Thursday before the Easter weekend. The other location was 30 minutes or so away. The rental agent gave me the price for a new reservation at the airport--but it was almost double the price of my reservation. After several minutes and a final request to see if the rental agent could do ANYTHING to help me, he found a rate that was $20 higher than my original reservation. I really appreciated that!!! Sometimes slower is okay. Thank you!If I could have gotten through the process faster, I could have spent more time seeing St. Louis...but as mentioned...I made the reservation mistake and Avis/Budget helped me out.

My husband and I traveled via Uber to Enterprise for a car we had reserved online. We never got the car because: We couldn't use a debit card(neither mine nor my husband's even though the cards are from the same bank); I don't drive but my husband has a valid license; when I called a utility company to text me a photo copy of my latest 'paid' gas bill; enterprise rejected it because his name wasn't on it; he does not have utility bills in his name. I offered to pay cash to no avail. Finally when we had exhausted our options, we were stranded and it was too late to try another rental agency so we caught another taxi home. Enterprise discriminates! I am seeking other horror stories about Enterprise too post.

I requested a car from STL Airport but you gave me a car that was at a different and didn't realize until shuttle took me to airport location and they gave me a price almost two what you quoted. The allocation said the location I had to go their by cab as their shuttle would not take me there and also that maybe it would be closed by the I got there. It was very chaotic and stressful.

They didn’t have my rental at all. I never got a car . They said the price was not what they charge so they tried to get me to do the reservation over to pay more money for the car. They didn’t Honor you all’s prices.

The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond taking care of my rental for me. When we were doing the walk around to make sure everything looked good, we noticed there was some bird poo on the side of the vehicle and they said they wanted to give it a quick wash for me before sending me out in it, which I though was very nice of them to do that, even though they didn't have to. I have rented from different Enterprises around the St. Louis and St. Charles areas, and this one has been by far the best.

Customer service was great.The interior and exterior of the rental was kinda dirty/had outside (leaf) debris in the inside of car from previous driver as well as bug residue and visible dirt on the exterior from previous driver(s).
