Cons:

I reserved a convertible because we needed a parade car for my daughter. They confirmed the car in advance, but once I got there, NO CONVERTIBLE. The person working the counter was not the friendliest and acted as if it was not their problem. Very Disappointed with the whole experience.

Cons:

The fact that Avis is reserving cars that they don’t have, especially through use of third party apps, makes traveling such a gamble. Waiting in line for over 30 minutes at your destination, just to be told there are no cars, is crazy! And then when a car comes in, during COVID, there’s are so many people waiting ahead of me, that I decided to take the car before it was cleaned. And cleaned it myself. Yeah, won’t be using Avis or Cheapflights after this. No other car rental had lines. Their parking lots were full of cars. So it wasn’t a lack of cars in general. The lack of coordination between the reservation systems of Avis and Cheapflights was the problem. When I was leaving town, there was a long line at the counter again. Crazy.

Van stopped on me a mile from the place. Call roadside service it took 2 hours to send me someone. Then the they finally came it was a pop a lot car, I was in the car I needed a toll truck. The guy tried to jump start the van he couldn’t find the battery my God. The guy at the desk was not friendly at all after all that he didn’t say sorry that happened. God bless him

Pros:

The staff was friendly and helpful. Pick up and drop off was easy.

Cons:

I thought it was pricey but it was the cheapest option, so could just be that I don’t rent card very often.

Cons:

They need to make it explicitly clear (online and at rental kiosk) that they do not accept Debit cards so we don’t wait an hour in line at the airport only to find out that I can’t rent a car when I finally speak to the employee.

Drop off experience was not smooth. No one available to ask questions. Drop off in Kenner was somewhat of a nightmare. Next time I’ll allow at least an hour extra time

I received a phone call 2 hours before my reservation advising me that there would not be a car available. The person on the phone said they were expecting a truck in 4 hours but didn’t want to promise anything. Also said I should call back later when she was off. I called at 5:45pm to get an update. Was left on hold for 21 minutes and then hung up on. I drove over there and saw at least 10 cars in the C slots. Once I got to the counter, there was no one there and they said “it was first come first served” When I pointed out that I WAS FIRST - my reservation was an hour earlier and no one else was there, all of a sudden there was a car available.

Flight arrived after rental car office was closed. No refund and reservation was cancelled because I wasn't there on time. Booked through Travelocity. Will never do that again.

Car was dirty with food on steering wheel and center counsel windows were so dirty I had to pull over and wife a circle so I could see out of it. Vehicle was supposed to be Covid-19 safety sanitized with a sticker and no such thing. Also I reserved a SUV and ended up in an Nissan Altima and told “oh well it’s all we have”

The girl in Lafayette where I rented the car was extremely nice. The Hertz people in Nashvlle when dropping the car off were extremely RUDE. The car was ok not super comfortable but ok. The rAtes are outrageous. Also, I paI’d ahead for the car with a major credit card. You guy putting another $200 hold on my acct for days is unacceptable. I had already paid for the car. Ridiculous and I don’t like being told that AFTER I’ve already rented the car. I have insurance. No reason to do that.

They are scam artist behind the counter at LFT. They literally had the audacity to try to charge me for a broken windshield that I did not break. They have no cameras around the rental car area yet claimed it was my fault. Absolute trash employees and trash company, I will never rent from hertz ever again.

Flight arrived late, but a National staff person was still at their desk, despite it being after their normal hours. The pickup and return were very efficient and quick, though they can have somewhat of a long line at busy times--so plan accordingly.

I drove all the way to Lafayette to pick up my rental and the employee at the desk wouldn’t allow me to pick up the SUV. Apparently a major CC was needed, bank card not accepted for SUV. However, this information was not listed online or in the fine print of the rental when I booked. I offered to provide a major CC via phone since I did not bring one with me, the employee said they had to swipe it b/c they use an “old swiper”…which you can still manually type in card info. She also spoke about running a major CC to verify my associated flight, I said I didn’t book a flight, she replied, “exactly, that’s why I need a major CC.” Nothing made any sense. I can understand rules but that employee was awful! I asked if they could pull other rental locations away from the airport to see if they had available van or suv and she refused. She stated that a major CC would be needed for a van too. I drove 30 miles back to my home and booked directly with Enterprise and then drove all the way back to Lafayette. The entire process delayed my family’s vacation by 6 hours and it turns out I did not need a major CC to rent a van. National/Enterprise/Alamo - your employee at the Lafayette airport on the morning of September 1, 2022 is what gives companies a bad reputation. She was not helpful, contradicted herself a few times, rude and lazy. I won’t be renting from this location in the future, it wasn’t worth the 4 hour hassle. I also ended paying an additional $400, as my booking was not guaranteed when I picked up from a new location. An $800 rental became a $1200 rental.

Kayak allowed us to book a car online, but when we went to pick it up we were told they had no cars available. We also waited in line for about 20 minutes while the very slow agent helped 2 customers before us...only then to be told no cars.
