Pros: The setting next to a ravine with mountains in the backdrop was lovely. Breakfast was good and the pools just outside the dining room were wonderful to dip your feet in and enjoy the scenery
Cons: The information listed on my booking confirmation didn't initially work when I saw my accommodation. The info provided by Booking .com listed a full kitchen but I was led to just a standard room adjacent to the villa I wound up staying in. The front desk fixed this with relative ease, which I appreciated. But, here's what was missing in this comfortable and spacious villa...basically all kitchen items necessary for such a stay. No strainer or collendar, dish towels, starter coffee for the coffee maker (and coffee is the featured product in this region) pots and pans finally located in the oven, counter chairs sit extremely high off the counter and one has to crouch to eat over the counter, no hot pads, no screen in the patio doors. Watch your step to the patio and into the shower as it's recessed more than one would think.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the view is amazing (15 minute to downtown), pool and hamacs.
Cons: Far away rooms from the center (where the pool and restaurant are), and single villas too close together (you hear your neighbors).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Villa was beautiful and clean. Lots of room and A/C worked great. Pool was also clean and had excellent view of the canyon. Same with the restaurant.
Cons: There was no jacuzzi/hot tub as advertised. There was a small, round pool attached to the bigger pool, but was the same temperature as the bigger pool. No hot water. Luke warm showers. There could have been a few more utensils and cookware in the kitchen as well, but we made do. Villa was about a mile from the main house. Good thing we had a car. Outdoor porch had no table to put drinks on. We had to improvise.
5,8 Okay

Hotel Panamonte - Boquete - Building

R3 430+
Overview Reviews

The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The gardens, location and food hold their reputation as one of the best visit experiences in the country. The menu was excellent but the wine selection was limited.
Cons: Despite a clear effort to preserve the 60-year+ essence of the original Inn, the facilities are aged and severely deteriorated, taking you away from the “genuine” look and feel well into a “worn and torn” experience. The room didn’t smell clean, the towels were damp and smelly in two occasions and the staff denied us room service in 3 occasions from being “understaffed” as they explained to us. Overall, went to Panamonte knowing their standards for the past 30 years but did not find what I remembered.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s an awesome and relax place to stay the greenery and the classy style make it comfortable
6,7 Good
Pros: Beautiful gardens and fire places in cool of the evening.
Cons: Air conditioner didn't work in first room we had . They moved us for 2nd night to room with one king from 2 queens which was okay plus provided us with small discount. We have stayed there many times over the years but thought they had slipped a bit .We would still go back but will look around more before we do.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely, historic hotel set in attractive gardens. The room was huge with French windows on to a private patio. The restaurant was excellent; not much more expensive than local restaurants. Breakfast was served at the table (not a buffet) and there was a wide choice, well presented. It was a short walk to the town's facilities
Cons: Service was a little slow.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Rooms are well nice, spacious and overall nicely designed. Gardens are very well maintained. Late check out was available.
Cons: Staff is a failure - completely inattentive, no service attitude at all: served different wine than ordered (multiple times, when asked: “the other one is not available”), breakfast service is poor even there are rarely guests, no spa area although they advertise spa & massage prominently on their webpage... I could go on with multiple more examples. This is not a member with “Small luxury hotels” anymore but still advertise online...
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The property is quite an old building but well maintained. I love the elegance of the property. It is charming and restful. The gardens are lovely and very neat. We were upgraded to a suite which had its own patio with chairs, table and a hammock.

Pros: GREAT STAFF! Thanks especially to Alejandro who was always friendly and extra helpful! Excellent location...close to many great restaurants.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, staff very helpful and it a charming little town. The food at the Rock Restaurant next door is a joy to go to each day for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are other excellent restaurant's in the town for all your dining needs.
Cons: The coffee is luke warm and I believe a hotel of this quality should look for a better coffee brewing system. I will say that I have run hotel's for many years and this coffee will meet the needs of most.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It‘s s very beautiful retreat a little outside of Boquete town. The rooms are very clean, spacious with comfortable beds. We were there during off season and it was very quiet. We had the common rooms all to ourselfes.

Pros: We were upgraded for free because a wedding party booked the area we were supposed to be in.
Cons: The location is perfect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The most beautiful place I have ever seen
Cons: food
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect as we were attending an event there. The riverside cottage was lovely as we could get away from the crowds when we chose to. It had it's own parking spot and was very private. The cottage has a small refridgerator in the room and small bar/kitchen area (no cooking). It also had a large shower and bath with good water pressure. We have been to Valley Escondido before and love the area..its very beautiful. I would definately stay again.
Cons: we missed seeing locals at this event, but I guess they don't listen much to Blues and Jazz! Will return for the flower festival next year instead as we really enjoy the Panamanian people, and know they will be there! (:
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: The location and the setting is beautiful.
Cons: PLEASE AVOID IT ON WEEKENDS. The property hosts often weddings in the hotel and to us they really need to choose and decide which business they seek. The music of the wedding was so loud that it was impossible to sleep until 1:30am. I have never experienced anything like this. I called several time the reception, they agreed with me, but indicated that they could not do anything. In addition, in our case the covered and blocked any use of the indoor pool for two days because of the arrangements. Going to the countryside and having such a bad experience was unimaginable for us.
6,7 Good
Pros: the property is beautiful
Cons: we could not use the indoor pool
9,2 Excellent
Pros: location, good services, attention from all people from the hotel
Cons: my room was not good clean,my parents room had a problem with the cable.
7,1 Good
Pros: staff was helfull The beauty of the grounds and surrounding area were unsurpassed.
Cons: went for rest. Kids all over the place from toddlers to teens yelling screaming running everywhere even in restaurant and bar area. restaurant was poor. Buffet was bad. Menu choices limited and not very good. Coffee not readily available other than restaurant and they ran out.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. We stayed there while attending the Boquete Jazz & Blues Festival which was primarily held in the fabulous amphitheater at the resort. The included buffet breakfast was nice.
Cons: The food service for dinner was extremely slow. The massage I had at the resort was not that great for the price. Would have appreciated having a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: the comfort of the apartment, the very centric location of the place, the space of the apartment.
Cons: I did not know at the time I booked that the cleaning services were only available at request, and it was not a full cleaning service, only change in towels, removing the garbage, and making the beds.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The place is amazing, the coffee tour is a great experience
Cons: The restaurant is low quality, the service is terrible and they didn’t have most of the items on the menu. They didn’t care to apologize.
7,5 Good
Pros: Food was great
Cons: No enough light in the bathroom
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The food and the weather.
Cons: The bathtub had rest of silicone.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful environment. Nice room. Great shower, bed and mattress! Very tasty breakfast. Staff was helpful to solve any problem we had.
Cons: Checking in took a long time. Coffee machine in room didn't work and had to be replaced. No airco in room, pretty cold at night. Couch in our room had stains and looked old.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really perfect and the staff were very sincere and nice
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The gardens and humming birds. The food was amazing.
Cons: The map of their paths is terrible. It is not to scale for distance of each section which is fine, but they also don't include all of the paths, so "taking the 2nd right" for example, will get you lost. Instead, go to the Lost Waterfalls, that is an amazing hike.
7,9 Good
Pros: The property is a beautiful coffee farm so it’s lovely and verdant The restaurant is really good with a yummy french toast option for breakfast and a to die for passion fruit pie on the dinner menu
Cons: The rooms are a bit basic
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: More optiones for dinner.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The place! The mountain, the room and in general the ambience.
Cons: The service provided by the staff. For example: called front desk and they answered without a good morning. The waitress in the restaurant made so many mistakes. The menu offer jam and natural juices but not at all Bo Jan and no natural juices.

Pros: Small and tidy hostel with a nice garden. I stayed there three nights and felt at home from the first minute. Adam was very supportive giving recommendations for undertakings in this area.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was very clean, comfortable for relaxing, and felt like home with a balance of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel feels very homey and relaxed. The people are very kind. The location is perfect, you can get to all the hiking spots very easily or if you want to do a tour the manager can book it for you from the hostel. The manager Adam is very kind and generous, cutting some sugarcanes for you or taking the time to give you advice about what the best hiking trail is. I really enjoyed this hostel and would recommend it to everyone, 10/10!
Cons: Nothing ! :)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, relax, coffe 24/7 The guest is so kind and very worry for you comfort.
Cons: The rooms should have fan, Boquete is cold but if there is no wins, you will feel hot case where a fan could help you a lot.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Mo, the current reception guy. He is great! Whole atmosphere was great. Nice location, great garden, and spacious room (for central America standards).
Cons: The walls were too thin.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house with a big garden. The kitchen has every necessery equipment. You can cook with a great view. There is even a gas grill. Very clean. Quiet location, 5 minutes from the city center by taxi, which was actually an advantage, because it was so peacefull and taxi costs only 60 cents.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Kitchen is clean and nice. The bed is so comfy.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean hostel, kitchen has full equipment and there are good places to sit and chill. Adam was very nice and helpful, thanks
Cons: A bit outside the centrum, but you can take a bus for 60 ct that brings you there in 5 minutes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and peaceful location outside of town with clean air, good facilities, and a great view on Volcán Barú. The place looks very much like an alpine resort from Europe. The staff was very friendly and helpful in finding my way around and suggesting things to do in the area. The hostel is small and cozy with just 4 rooms for 2 persons each. If you are lucky, you will get your own room, which is a very good deal for the price.
Cons: The power often went away for brief periods of time during rain, but this is not the hostel's fault. There are quite some mosquitos around so one needs to make sure to protect him/herself.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Adam was a great host, the house is very confortable and you will easy feel at home! You can also enjoy a nice garden with hammocks + they take bitcoin for payment!

Pros: The host, Marcelo, was one of the nicest people we’ve ever met! His million megawatt smile made us feel very welcome. He was very knowledgeable and helped us set up our activities. The hotel grounds are just beautiful, with many colorful flowers. We enjoyed thestunning view from the hot tub including a rainbow and many hummingbirds! The breakfast was good and the outdoor dining very relaxing . The area is just beautiful and we enjoyed the zip lining and white water raft thing. The town has great restaurants and friendly people.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location! Listening to the river all day was priceless. Very nice jacuzzi and pool...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Property is gorgeous. The flowers and grounds are extremely well manicured. The pool / hot tub is adjacent to the river which makes it very enjoyable. Our accommodations were incredibly spacious. It was great. Breakfast was really fantastic, the 1st place in Panama to actually serve real sausage and not hot dogs called sausage. Great way to start your morning.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful pool and we especially loved the jacuzzi with an amazing view after a hike. Breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and good hot shower. And I don't think we ever had such a great view during a workout in the gym :). There was even a sauna by the way!
Cons: Breakfast starts at 8 AM which is a bit late with a small child.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Gardens, humming birds, hot tub, fireplace, view of the river.
Cons: Had to ask to turn on the hot tub. It was off season and they kept it off when not in use, so you have to plan 30 min. in advance when you want to use it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Place located just 5 minutes from central Boquete going up into Palo Alto. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Nice view of the river, excellent to have a pool and Jacuzzi for when you get back from going around all day. Full Breakfast was included in our rate and it was very good and cooked daily and fresh. They also have a bar where you can buy drinks (or you can bring your own) and enjoy your time. We rented the Family Suite which was perfect, spacious, and included a full kitchen with Fridge, stove, coffee, etc. Definitely recommended!
Cons: We rented the Family suite which had a lot of space downstairs but just FYI the upstairs loft is spacious but due to the low inclined ceiling we found it not so convenient for adults or our bigger teenager kid.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location on the river was quite nice with great views especially form the Jacuzzi and pool. The breakfast buffett was very good -- except the last day when there was only an omelette. However, they offer great mimosas and Bloody Marys with Gray Goose! It is about a 45 min walk to town, if you don't have a car, but the taxis do come by often. Very relaxing and lovely garden with beautiful birds and flowers!
Cons: My only suggestion is that IF you are a bird watcher, it would be helpful if the FIRST thing in them morning fresh fruit was put out on the platform, each day, so the birds can come and nibble before it gets too busy!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great - fresh fruit, fresh coffee, fresh omelette - perfect start. Location is awesome - next to a cascading mountain stream with great views of Vulcan Baru.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Most lovely staff, very helpful and kind. Amazing garden, beautiful flowers, pool with a view and outside jacuzzi. Good breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, fruits.
Cons: Roosters screaming early in the morning, but that’s not the fault of the hotel. :D You need a car to get to Boquete Town, but the hotel provides some friendly drivers.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Inn at Palo Alto was spectacular! The views are incredible, location was amazomh with close access to town. Marcello and his staff made this experience unforgettable! So accommodating, helpful and genuine. There is nothing more they could’ve done to make this a better experience.

Pros: Breakfast!! Was excellent
7,5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was adequate with the servers being friendly and helpful.
Cons: Do not have suggestions this time. My visit was excellent.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: TV set is on and very loud during breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff
Cons: The ubication of the bathdroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. I liked the breakfast, but not so much did my partner, it could include more options. Good place to rest from your journey.
Cons: The reflector light from the garden lightned up the inside of my room at night, because of that I had to close to curtains completely. Minor detail really.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Food and attention were great
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast Is amazing.
6,3 Good
Pros: The property has a good location just walk across the bridge and your basically in town. Staff friendly they did assist us with getting a mini fridge in the room to store items we had - not sure if they normally come standard in the room or not Rooms clean
Cons: Charged an additional $35 to check in early even though it was a Sunday in low season (checked in just after 12pm) and most of the rooms in the hotel were empty (the room cost was $75) so don’t understand the pricing model especially given that Boquete is such a destination specific place, But apparently that is there policy. Unfortunately I was sick and it was also pouring rain as weather warnings were also issued so we didn’t really have a choice. some better customer service given the situation would have been ideal. No pool, hot tub, bath, or fireplace which is rare in boquete given the cooler climate, but they do have a restaurant (food was not great they tempura batter the chicken fingers and served them with tartar sauce so I thought it was fish but I think it was just cooked in the same oil as it was definitely chicken but tasted fishy). Everything was just ok, there’s much better places to stay and eat in boquete that have more amenities. Highly recommend the Chophouse downtown boquete. Don’t check in before check in time not worth the additional price

Cons: Good

Pros: Hot tub and view of the back garden area. The location is good. The breakfast was very good.
Cons: Room was small.
6,7 Good
Pros: Bedding was not up to standard for this luxury hotel and neither was the breakfast.
Cons: Breakfast and the bedding
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved our stay in the Haven Spa Hotel. The staff, especially Caesar, were so friendly, helpful and nice to talk to. They accommodated every wish we had. The Jacuzzi and sauna were perfect after a day hiking up the volcano Baru. Yoga is also offered in nice and airy room surrounded by the hotel's garden. My boyfriend also used the hotel's gym everyday and was very happy. Our room's private terrace with a view on the beautiful garden with bamboo and a small stream were pure bliss and a wonderful setting for our breakfast. Bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious. The location is a bit off the main street with restaurants which meant a short walk every night for dinner, which we didn't mind and a taxi would only cost $2.5. Overall highly recommended.
Cons: If the hotel had it's own restaurant it would be excellent and you wouldn't want to leave it all. I assume that the small number of rooms does not justify a restaurant. As said, we didn't mind the short walk to the restaurants.
9,2 Excellent
Cons: A restaurant at your site will help for those that want stay in.
6,7 Good
Pros: Clean, everything is organized, not our thing for the holiday feeling. But great if you want to sport and sauna.
Cons: Breakfast is minimal, have to take it in the room(make your own coffee/tea-max2). Not the real holiday feeling. For swimming you have to make a reservation and the swimmingpool is to swim (!), not to have fun. No bar, no restaurant..... a bit the feeling of a sanatorium... walk tiptoo and don’t wet the floor after swimming.....
4,2 Okay
Pros: good
Cons: they don't have the jacuzzi on continuously so you have to ask ahead of time for it to be turned and UP for the water to be warm enough for a HOT tub... kind of strange and not very relaxing when you get in and it is like a bathtub of water going cold! Same thing for the infrared sauna, needs to be turned on 15 mins ahead of time but you have to know that first!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a large grilled ham and cheese sandwich on a lovely whole grain bread served with fresh fruits (Papaya and Pineapple), yogurt, and cereal and milk. Delivered right your door at the time you request which is a very nice touch.
Cons: The beds could have been more comfortable. The driveway near the road could use a little fill.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good!!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful fixing a booking error through booking.com. We had an amazing room and the staff was kind and wonderful. Would recommend highly.

Pros: Such a beautiful place and nice staff. The breakfast was also delicious.

Pros: The staff was amazing!!! I left some important documents there. They called me to let me know, cause I had no clue!!! Then helped me to send them to my next hotel. AMAZING SERVICE!!! Thanks Mirna!!
Cons: I wish there was more coffee, it was good.

Cons: Nothing. It was absolutely amazing.

Pros: Beautiful location, view of valley, siting and architecture of buildings and gardens, nice breakfast to start the day.
Cons: There was a mention of spa services, but it would have been helpful if room had brochure with services and prices.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: friendly staff and I would recommend Santuario!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are beautiful with a large assortment of flowers and a manicured lawn. The view is spectacular and "lobby" is very cozy. The staff was very friendly. When we commented on the breakfast and asked if we could have tortillas and hojaldres instead of loaf bread, they delivered the following days.
5,4 Okay
Cons: Very bad attitude of the personnel.. Very negative, inflexible people. We enter into a shouting match with the administrator over the fact of bringing more persons that what our reservation said instead of telling us that we needed to pay extra. When we left ,I left the key in the reception desk because there was nobody there and now they are charging my credit card for the extra people which they never mentioned they were going to do. I will not accept it.Ill never come back and I will tell other friends in the karate froup that go annually

7,5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, tasty breakfast, good location, friendly common space, clean room
Cons: There was a plastic foil set under our sheets which made it impossible to sleep comfortably! It made sounds every time you moved during sleep. The toilet paper seemed like it was only half layered. The room was small for the price we payed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the hotel is up away from the main part of town, but is close to the brand new bridge that connects with the other side of town so is a short walk away from everything. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Breakfast is advertised as from 7am but they will make it for you whenever you would like it as they are a 24 hour reception. We left a US$5 tip for Crizzly in the tip jar and then $5 tip for the chap on reception that made us breakfast. I don't think we left a tip anywhere else in our 18 day stay.
Cons: The bed is starting to make you and your partner roll together in the middle - mattress needs replacing soon.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast in the common areas!! Great service from all the front desk staff!!
Cons: It was a short walk from the park where the bus service stops, and was a little problematic with rain.... however, it was nice and quiet being away from downtown. I did hear the neighbor's dogs occasionally, as another reviewer mentioned, but they didn't bark so much as to be a nuisance.
7,9 Good
Pros: Mountain view was beautiful, breakfast was amazing, patio space for breakfast, close to town (5-10 min walk), staff were helpful, affordable price
Cons: Rooms weren't cleaned daily (we were there for 2 nights and nothing was cleaned), noisy from all the traffic accelerating up the hill and dogs barking
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We were able to get our clothes washed really cheap. The breakfast was good and the wifi as well. Close to a lot of restaurants, really quiet.

7,5 Good
Pros: Close to everything but still quiet with a view of the mountains. Good breakfast.
Cons: Some things felt sticky in the bathroom and other rooms on the floor were having water issues.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, only 5 minutes walk away from the supermarket and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and gave us information of tours and walks. Good laundry service for 6$ and on our last morning we left around 7am and they made us a coffee and sandwich early. Rooms are comfortable and has a good hot shower.
Cons: The rooms could do with a little updating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Always a quality experience.
Cons: Better and more coffee please!

Pros: The owners are super friendly and helpful! It’s a little walk out of ‘the centre’ but it’s a super small town anyway. Clean, comfortable, the bus to David leaves from the same street. Would stay here again.

Pros: Nice garden area but it needed a good cleanup. Owner was having it cleaned the day we left. Good location and pool looked nice.
Cons: The shared kitchen was dirty, the guests are suppose to cleanup after themselves. The linens were old. The lighting very poor in the rooms. We had our room only cleaned once during our 5 day visit. The sheets were never changed. The shower constantly dripped.
