The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, the facilities were excellent, and the decor was superb!
Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with antiques and items representing the Hobbit theme.
We did not know that you must book a table for dinner before noon, although check--in is at 2:00 pm. This booking should be an option when you make the reservation online!
Loved the homey and welcoming atmosphere. the staff was very helpfull and friendly and we all enjoyed it and will recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.
A unique, quirky concept with well designed, laid out and furnished public areas. Friendly staff.
But a disappointing stay. The whole place is faded and tired, needs a good clean and a freshen up of decor, particularly in the bedrooms. Dinner was not available unless pre-arranged on booking which had not been sufficiently flagged. Staff directed us to a restaurant nearby which was closed! Trades on a number of presidgous awards in the late 90's but did not live up to its reputation and has been allowed to go downhill.
the location; the ambience of the hotel and the family friendliness
Good location and nice ambiance
Lovely hotel with beuatiful garden, great to relax, excellent breakfast, great value for money. Especially for people who like a charming old English atmosphere.
the staff the two gentleman
atmosphere and history of hotel.staff courtesy and owner warmth.
The breakfast was great, staff attending was also sufficient & friendly. The pub is quite nice, i would have preferred the little stove to actually work, as you have such cold long winters in the Free State, the fireplace in the main lounge should also be restored.
I had a very pleasant stay.
