9,6 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast. Location.
Cons: The staff did not know about the bus tours at the Oga Peninsula. This was probably because of my very, very limited Japanese could not explain that I wanted them to make reservations for the bus tour for me.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful, very friendly and respectful. Room was modern and well equipped
Cons: Breakfast was the most disappointing of our three week stay in Japan. The accommodation was modern but the breakfast room has missed the renovations. Food was obviously prepared many hours before our arrival at breakfast at 7.30. Suggest finding somewhere else for breakfast.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. Close to everything you need from transportation, restaurants, points of interest. Staffs were courteous and helpful. Good values for the money.
Cons: Our rooms were three single beds rooms. The third bed was not a regular bed and was not as comfortable as the other two beds.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Located in front of the station
Cons: No coin laundry.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was a generous size for a Japanese hotel. And the location is perfect for getting to the main sights and the railway station.
Cons: It is hard to find the front entrance of the hotel. It is easy to see the building from the station. When you get there, go round the building in an anti-clockwise direction. You will come to a large blue portico with Japanese writing (only). That is the entrance.
7,1 Good
Pros: If you ever wondered what a hotel was like in the 80s and 90s, this is the place for you, and I don't mean it in a bad way. While the decor is dated and the upholstery looks like it belongs to grandma, the entire place is kept clean and efficient. Its quaint and antiquated design made for a fun night's stay. As expected of its rural location, the rooms are spacious.
Cons: No laundry facilities - rather inconvenient for long stayers
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location which is beside the JR station, and not far from the places for visit in the Akita City. Nice price with high valuable.

There are a lot of amenity for borrow such as bicycle, nail cutting, etc. The guest room is ok. Breakfast is nice. We stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast on the second day is very delicious, I love it so much.
Cons: As this is Akita, which mainly cold during the year so the room has no air-conditioning. We stay in May so we need to open the window to get some cold weather from outside. The weather is fine but there is traffic light nearby so traffic sound for pedestrian can leak into bedroom but no so annoy.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent and location was fine. Could have been a better view but not too important
Cons: The dinner was limited choices and small portion, but very tasty

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place was clean and the stuff was very kind. We loved the onsen. It's worth every penny.
Cons: Just one thing. The restaurant used very cheap one use chopsticks and I could taste the chopstick. It sounds picky but I think it makes a difference. Even cheap chain restaurants here don't use that kind of chopsticks. Other than this the hotel was just fantastic don't let this put you off.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful onsen only short distance from Akita city. Easy access by bus. Friendly staff and explained everything in details with the help of google translate. Onsen was nice especially the outdoor one. Room is big. Comfortable tatami. Good breakfast. Extremely good service.
Cons: None
7,9 Good
Pros: It’s a great, friendly place where the staff is extremely attentive and very helpful! While nobody could speak English, we tried our best with google translate! It was a fun experience trying local culture!
Cons: The location is about 15-20 mins away from Akita Station. This isn’t normally a problem, but bus service is a bit irregular and ends at 9pm. The location itself closes at 10pm, so you must be back at the place before then or you cannot return to your room! This means even if you wanted to take a taxi after an evening taking a few beers in town, you aren’t able to. This place really is catered for only relaxing at the Onsen and isn’t the best place for wider tourist plans.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The onsen is great to relax in. The breakfast had good portion but it is japanese style.
Cons: No wifi in the room just in the lobby
6,7 Good
Pros: Large room and rotenburo.
Cons: One hour walk from Akita station.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, challenging shared bathroom (It is Japanese traditional culture of Japan, everyone goes into a bath together nakedly), with hot spring, sauna, and fountain with enough water pressure to be able to massage tired body.) Breakfast was good
Cons: for the upgrading of the facility, it is recommended to provide shuttle bus to take guests from hotel to Akita station back and forth
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The whole immersion into japanese culture...the quality of the thermal baths and the kindness of the staff, regardless that they could only speak Japanese.
Cons: It would be good to provide transportation from Akita Station to the hotel, for sure would boost the experience....however, taking the local bus is not complicated and the walk from the bus stop to the hotel is just 2 blocks away.
3,3 Mediocre
Cons: Reserved a package for family with two kids on booking.com but when we arrived the hotel they told us that the package is invalid and tried to charge $60 for each kid, ended up paying about $240 instead of originally listed $140. The bath was great but it is also open to public. It was so crowded...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, public bath is beautiful and the food delicious. Breakfast is traditional Japanese and very good! The room was amazing and maybe the most beautiful traditional Japanese we had, in the 7 weeks we were in Japan. Staff helpful and very nice.
Cons: Not a real minus. But just to mention. It’s not located in the center of Akita. But the bus stop is very near by. And, on the other hand, the environment is beautiful for hiking.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and ready to take the time to explain things to a foreign tourist, even though they spoke little English themselves. Nice Japanese breakfast. Pleasant baths with a small outdoor area.

7,5 Good
Pros: Its Just okey
Cons: I suggest each hotel should have 2 or more staff with very good English conversation skill. We have difficulty explaining to staff our concerns.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, very small room but clean - had everything two travelers needed. Safe area, safe property.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Although this hotel is a little more difficult to get to from the train station, it is definitely worth the effort. We stayed here once before and said if we were in the area we would do so again . . . and we did!! This time we stayed two nights and were able to check out some areas nearby. We enjoyed exploring Senshu Park and the Kawabata Restaurant and Bar District, which are within walking distance. This hotel was once an onsen resort and still is. The onsen is wonderful! There is a barber shop, which I tried this time and liked the hair-cut and service I received. One of the best reasons to come here is the izakaya restaurant located on the second floor of the hotel. It doesn't have an extensive selection of food, but it is good and the service is great.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a great find for our stay in Akita. It's clean and comfortable. The onsen is great and exceeded my expectations. I loved the no shoes policy especially as we were traveling with a baby. Great location.
Cons: The room was spacious but had too much furniture.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing onsen! It has outdoor and indoor baths. It was great!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very good natural onsen
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The onsen,
9,7 Excellent
Pros: We planned to use Akita as our base for day trips to the historic samurai village of Hakunodate and to Lake Tazawa, but the Route-Inn Grantia turned out to be a destination of its own. The staff was friendly (though I was glad to be able to speak Japanese), the service impeccable, and our room small but meticulously clean and well appointed (toiletries and tea provided; towels and jinbei for the onsen changed daily). Our floor featured a coin laundry and a vending machine with cup noodles. A Japanese breakfast buffet with a range of options is available for purchase for 850 yen/day, even if you don't include it in your reservation. I also highly recommend the restaurant on the premises, which serves a delicious rendition of the Akita specialty kiritanpo. Make sure to save time for the onsen! There are a variety of baths of different temperatures, both indoors and out.
Cons: There aren't many dining options around the hotel; you may want to either eat at the hotel restaurant or closer to Akita Station.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very clean, excellent onsen facility, overall well kept business hotel, free motorbike parking
Cons: Must remove shoes at all times (even in the lobby), there is a strange "clinic" like smell all around, slightly pricier than it should be
7,9 Good
Pros: Love the onsen within the hotel. Breakfast buffet menu also delicious! I recommend to buy the breakfast ticket (only 850 yen!!).
Cons: Room is a bit small. Staff cannot speak English well.

Pros: What's there not to like? it is a new hotel; perfect location, the staff were great, the room was bigger and better designed to give you more room for this price range and great for couples. There was enough room to spread out a bit and still have room to sit at a computer.

Cons: Not flexible check-in time
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and quiet, smelled very fresh about five minutes from park and 15 minutes from station. Good value for money.
Cons: The breakfast is a bit overpriced and could be closer to station.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: managed to book at one days notice for the festival and the hotel was on the Main Street of the festival - brilliant!
Cons: English is a challenge fortunately we were travelling with our some who is fluent in Japanese
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We made a last minute reservation on a holiday weekend so were pleased to find a hotel room. We were even more pleased that it was at the Daiwa Roynet. We were able to park in the hotel's parking building and checked in without problem. As we were coming in late, we needed a few things and there was a convenience store just off the lobby so it really was convenient. We had a double room which was perfect for our needs. We had enough space and the bed was comfortable. The shower/bath was spacious and there was ample hot water. We left early the next morning and were glad we were able to stay in the Roynet Hotel.
Cons: The bed was a bit shaky, if one person moved in bed, the other person would really feel it.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good business hotel, rooms slightly bigger than Japanese standard, nice free view. Room got everything, cables etc. Very clean, very quiet. You can check in at the reception or at the machine. On the groundfloor there's a restaurant, but better get outside, there's tons of them directly in the neighbourhood, stroll the small alleys, there's great atmosphere. Coffee drip systeem, grab some at the lobby.
Cons: Breakfast was not more than average
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and comfortable room.
Cons: The air conditioner could only be switched on by calling reception and one has to do so every day. Never encountered such a practice before.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, clean, nice view, good location. The check in and out was unusual, but staff demonstrated the process.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Not near from JR station

7,1 Good
Cons: Paying 12 000 yen for 1night in a simple business hotel, offering nothing special when their normal price is 6000 as I have learned at tourist information, just because it is a festival season is a highway robbery. I even found Kanto Matsuri less interesting because of that.

Cons: I hate the smell of smoking in the room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good variety of food. Excellent location!

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Location, room, price
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: Only a 20 minute walk from the station
Cons: The whole property is old, smelly and stank of cigarettes. Pillows had weights in them and windows don't close properly so there was a noisy draft the whole time. Would recommend spending £20-30 more on a better hotel
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean and the bed comfortable, although it would have been better if it's queen size instead of double.
