Pros: Friendly welcome host. Rooms tastefully decorated. Thoughtful extra’s like a mini fridge and tea and coffee facilities and little biscuits. Spacious room with a comfortable bed. A short stroll and you are right in the old part of town.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful interior design and a warm welcome from Luc. My room was cosy but comfortable, with a desk where I could do some work. Very comfy bed! Very small kitchenette but fine for one person. The kitchenette had a microwave, small fridge and coffee and teas - perfect. Great location to explore the town but outside the hustle and bustle - very quiet which was lovely! On street parking was a huge bonus (free too!).

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Warm and charming staff, beautiful grounds, wonderful cuisine from the region. Our room was plush and comfortable and the service was excellent. We strongly recommend Moulin De Vigonac and they are well known in Brantôme for their hospitality and food.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Warm welcome, beautiful rooms, wonderful food, lovely location.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,6
Pros: What’s not to like about Moulin de Vigonac. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome, a true warm family feel. The setting is peaceful and the hotel has that French rustic appeal which makes it truly delightful. Our room was spacious and very tasteful and so very comfortable in every way. This is a family business and they can’t do enough to take care of you. The food in the hotel is wonderful and we overheard two other guests say that it was better than a 2 star Michelin restaurant they’d eaten at before their stay. We stayed a week, Brantome is around 20 mins walk but the hotel are happy to give you a lift to/from town in the evening should you wish to eat there for dinner which we did a few times. This is a very special hotel and one we will definitely be coming back to.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We had a great welcome and hospitality from the family who own and run hotel. Delightful decor, superb food and a lovely relaxing experience being beside and on the river. Well tended pretty garden and patio areas with quirky features. Decent size pool with a good deep end, not one of the shallow ones.
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This is a delightful small hotel. The family who run it are wonderful and very attentive to your comfort and needs. Their organization is fantastic. Monsieur is the chef and the dinners are exceptional. The sommelier is very knowledgeable , helpful and professional. This hotel is a gem.
Cons: We liked the whole place.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great attention from staff . Michel is a top chef , do not miss his culinary creations
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The setting is wooded with a mill stream running through the property that has been painstakingly restored. There are numerous garden areas where guests can find a quiet spot to relax outdoors. The pool is lovely and private. The food on site was spectacular and came in generous servings. We ate 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts there and looked forward to each meal. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The surroundings are tranquil and we loved the sound of the paddlewheel outside. The owners were onsite and very helpful. We were easy walking distance to the charming town of Brantôme.
Cons: The prices were slightly higher here than at our other 3 accommodations. The food was worth it, though!
Good 7,7
Pros: A warm welcome followed by excellent service and food ; it was my wife's birthday and the stay fulfilled all we both could have wanted .
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Charming family run hotel. Great food. Very friendly.
Good 7,3
Pros: The owners were delightful and most helpful with their advice about nearby villages of interest. Our meals were beautifully served and delicious and our room was comfortable and attractive..
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Beautiful relaxing setting. Elegantly refurbished buildings. Food excellent if a little pricey. Ideally located for the region and Brantome, which you can walk into during daylight. Owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Good 7,0
Pros: Very beautiful hotel run by a lovely family who make every effort to make your stay feel very special. Their restaurant is excellent the service is superb.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Great welcome and was upgraded to a better room because of limited number of guest staying at the time. I was the only diner in the restaurant, but still 3 staff members made my meal the most memorable I have every had! The food was extraordinary and the presentation was superb. Every detail was exquisite.
Cons: Property is difficult to locate on gps and because there are no signs on road into Brantome to show where it is. It is a fair distance outside the town.
Good 7,4
Pros: We found the setting very nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was first class although a little expensive.

Pros: A fantastic end to a great week. A big thank you to Oliver and his family for making our stay a great one. Great hosts and a big shout to Oliver's dad who must be one of the best chefs kicking about. It's been a long time since I ate food as good. It's not often you come across a guy who cares as much about the food he cooks. Awesome. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: A warm welcome which felt like returning to a home-away-from home; stunning surroundings and building; relaxed yet chic interiors; a delicious breakfast and wonderful facilities, including a heated pool and tennis courts. 24 hours at Le Chatenet delivered the R&R you’d usually need a few days to achieve!
Cons: Nothing not to like.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Our stay at Le Chatenet was amazing! The place is absolutely stunning - so beautiful and picturesque. The location is great - very close to the Brantome town center. It offers peace and quiet. The host, William, is very friendly and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and well looked-after. The room we had was lovely - so beautifully decorated! It was very comfortable and cosy - and remained very cool during the heat wave! Make sure you try the breakfast - it's excellent!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: So peaceful and tranquil, beautiful chateaux and fabulous breakfast. Brantome and the area are full of wonderful sights. Such a lovely, charming host.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: A hearty welcome from William and Anne set the tone for a memorable two days in Brantome. The tranquil setting and rest inducing silence provided the perfect antidote to wind down in style. A delightful night’s sleep in a comfy bed enveloped in an unpretentious bedroom followed by a healthy and sumptuous breakfast worked wonders for the soul. A five minute walk into town through a wooded path reminded us we were in the heart of the French countryside. A beautiful house full of history managed by helpful and delightful hosts means a definite return for us in the future. Thank you!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Stunningly beautiful house and grounds with wonderful hosts. Easy forest walk into picturesque Brantôme. We had a great three days here and are already planning to come back.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We stayed for a total of three days at Le Chatenet and wished we could have stayed longer. It is a stylish, charming, characterful property with a great history. The hosts, William and Anne, are simply wonderful people who take you into their home, treat you like family, and go the extra mile to make sure you have a memorable experience. Every aspect was superb and we felt that we had made two new lovely friends.I cannot recommend it more highly and will definitely be back. Flying into Limoges and driving down 1.5 hours was so easy.
Cons: Having to leave after three days!!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Loved the amazing character of the 16 th century property The hosts William and anne made us feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble And the added bonus of a heated swimming pool wonderful stay
Cons: That We had to leave and couldn’t stay longer.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Booked this place super quickly as it had great reviews and WOW is this place a gem! From the delicious homemade breakfast, to the heated pool, to the extra comfy beds and attention to detail everywhere. If they served dinner, we would have probably never left it during the day! Thank you to William and Anne for their super welcoming spirit. They really care for their guests. Highly recommended.
Good 7,0
Pros: Hospitable welcome and picturesque location
Cons: Nothing
Good 7,3
Pros: This was a beautiful place: the house, the setting, the welcome and care, the location, the food, the rooms, the decor. We thought it would require a car journey to Brantome, but it was actually within pleasant and easy walking distance.
Cons: Personally, I did not like the feel of the waterproof cover under the sheet on the bed, but I appreciate the reasons for it being there.Nothing else!
Good 6,7
Pros: This boutique hotel is in a beautiful, peaceful location with excellent grounds and lots of character, but only a 10 minute walk from the lovely town centre of Brantome. The hosts made us feel extremely welcome and did whatever they could to help with any requirements we had (umbrellas unfortunately, and torches for the walk to town were particularly helpful).
Cons: If I were to be very critical, some of the decoration in the bedroom and bathroom is getting a little tired and could soon do with refreshing. A couple of housekeeping points were overlooked too, but in no way did this spoil the stay. We will definately return.
Good 7,7
Pros: Lovely relaxing atmosphere, a real feeling of indulgence and luxury and very welcoming hosts.
Cons: I thought the charge for the extra beds for the children was a bit much as we had already paid for a family room.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Superb in every aspect!
Good 7,7
Pros: personal attention on arrival and during stay. very helpfull and interested in guest comfort. immediate response to any request.

Pros: The hotel has all the amenities that a 4 star hotel should have. It felt very clean, well maintained and the staff was helpful.
Cons: The hotel had a reconstruction going on so we heard drill during our last days, not something you want to hear on vacation. The sign saying that was in French so non French speakers were not informed. Not to mention we were put in the room right next to the construction.

Pros: The hotel is beautifully situated on the river adjacent to a garden and the historic Benedictine abbey. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the dining room delightful. There is indoor parking if you like for a very small fee. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, but it was located in the Abbott's House, not the main building
Cons: Because we booked last minute, our accommodations were in the Abbott's House which is a very short distance across the river opposite the main hotel building. Although we were upgraded to a junior suite, the room was somewhat spartan in its decor. We had a very nice dinner in one of the bistros associated with the hotel, but missed dinner in the Michelin starred gourmet restaurant again because the trip to Brantome was a last minute decision. Obviously not the fault of the hotel. Just a warning that the restaurant is popular.

Pros: The location was mesmerizing. Perfect. I can’t say enough about the staff—warm and helpful. We loved sitting in the gardens. It was fabulous and I will never forget it.

Good 7,7
Pros: the location was super.
Cons: Breakfast was overpriceed.
Good 7,3
Pros: The comfort afforded by the room was excellent as was the general standard of the hotel. The setting is superb and ideal to relax in. The staff were excellent, being friendly and informative.

Pros: On my way to Spain I stopped at three different Ibis Hotels and they are pretty similar. Everything is clean and the beds are quite new and very comfortable. Restaurants are good and the buffet breakfast is worth the money. Actually this Ibis Hotel has a restaurant that really exceeded my expectations! The hotel offers free parking for guests.
Cons: Rooms are rather small (which seems to be a typical French thing). Noise isolation in the room could be better. The overal atmosphere is quite neutral.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Staff lovely
Cons: Great staff!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Considering the current circumstances the hotel did well to make us feel all hygiene precautions had been taken. Our room was clean and well prepared. The staff who served us at dinner were excellent and we ate well.
Cons: We appreciated the need to stop the buffet breakfast. The pre-ordered trays were a good idea but we felt the choice could have been wider.
Good 6,0
Pros: Location was great
Cons: I was given a room with one bed initially despite having booked and paid for a room with 2 beds. The rooms were very bland. They felt like a hospital room rather than a comfortable hotel.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: We always stay here when in Perigueux as it's location is perfect and we think one of the best In is hotels. Always clean and comfortable. Good choice of breakfast.
Cons: As non French you now have to present your passport or other identification. Did not know this in advance so be warned.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Great breakfast, served on a tray, due to COVID restrictions.
Cons: Pets were allowed into the breakfast room, at the food counter.

Mediocre 3,8
Pros: Location and surrounding landscape was phenomenal.
Cons: The ‘Annexe’ building wasn’t fit for purpose. We just needed a good night sleep on our way south but the room failed at all the basic comforts you’d expect from any accommodation. It was extremely cold (the heating wasn’t on), damp and had an old, damp smell so not very comfortable at all. There was load banging noises throughout the night - we think it was the plumbing. As a result we didn’t sleep at all which is the basic requirement of any overnight stay. At one point we considered sleeping in the car! We were refunded 50% of the booking but that didn’t nearly make up for it. It was an exhausting start to our road trip which we wouldn’t repeat. The bathroom needed renovating. Just a bath with a hose. But clean. The bed was tiny, not big enough for two. Uncomfortable experience we wouldn’t repeat. This is for the Annexe Room. I can’t speak for the main chateau but be careful when booking this room.
Good 7,9
Pros: Very quiet location Beautiful building Nice furnishings Turret room Good views

Good 7,5
Pros: This is a breathtakingly picturesque chateau architecturally, with pleasant staff, offering an excellent breakfast and dinner, and opportunities for long country walks.
Cons: Our room was spacious but not air-conditioned; windows were not screened, and if opened for fresh air, dozens of ugly red bugs which nestled in the windows and walls entered the room, which made it unpleasant. The chateau is also very isolated, surrounded mostly by fields and in the distance by farmsteads that are generally miles apart; you really have to travel quite a few miles to Brantome for most amenities, sites and activities.
Good 7,9
Pros: Beautiful grounds that helps you disconnect from the city
Cons: We only stayed for 1 night so can’t say much about it but staff could have been more engaging.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: What a beautiful chateau. The staff were so polite and helpful and they must have an incredible chef there because the food was amazing
Cons: Nothing!
Good 6,0
Pros: It was a beautiful setting and because we stayed in the gate lodge we could come and go as we pleased.
Cons: The gate lodge has separate individual rooms to stay in and the front door has to be locked by the key at all times and all the windows downstairs have bars so it is a major concern, in the case of an emergency a key has to be used to get out and in a panic situation it would be a major concern of mine. Obviously no health and safety officer has checked it, if they even have health and safety officers in France! He who maketh the rules does not necessarily have to abide by them!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The Chateau was beautiful and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food was fantastic, noy cheap but well worth the money we paid.
Good 6,7
Pros: A lovely location. The village of Bourdeilles is about 3km away and is fabulous. The whole area is lovely and very quiet in comparison to the UK, especially on the roads. If you want hotel room with air-con and 24hr room service this part of France is not for you; though if you want to unwind, visit picturesque medieval towns here, there and everywhere then this is the place. We also try to converse in French as far as possible and haven't yet met any rude or off-hand locals in years of visiting France.
Cons: It is exactly as you would expect, as comfortable as the context would allow - ie not overly done-up and ruined but consequently no air-con or power-shower.
Good 7,3
Pros: drove through a field of sunflowers and corn, then reached this amazing castle......beautiful.Large spacious old fashioned room.Great experience.highly recomended!!!!!
Good 7,7
Pros: The whole setting was fantastic. Lovely walk to the nearest village. Great that we could take our dogs.
Cons: The day we arrived after a very long drive, all we wanted was a simple meal in the evening. Unfortunately the menu cost was 59 euros regardless of whether you only had a main course of 20 euros. I think this should be pointed out on your web site as the hotel is in a very remote area and if, like us, you have been driving all day the last thing you want to do is go out to eat. Needless to say we did not eat at the hotel again, which was a shame as the food was excellent. A bit more flexibility on the menu side would be great.
Mediocre 3,6
Pros: Staff attentive
Cons: Tatty - broken bin in bathroom. Paintwork peeling, stains on ceiling. Originally put in gatehouse which is a fair way from chateau especially in the pouring rain - but moved when we complained. Chateau in need of some TLC.
Good 6,4
Pros: Beautiful location beautiful chateau fantastic food and service staff very very helpful.Very peaceful and quiet great to get away from the stresses of life. Close to many beautiful towns in france
Cons: Website shows pool table this has been sold also shows pool but we went in may/june and pool not open very disappointed especially for our son. Heating also turned off and weather not warm enough so room was cold.Hotel did give us 2 fan heaters to use. Also although the food was superb not children food friendly.

Cons: Rail station hotel
Excellent 9,6
Pros: A good, value-for-money hotel. Breakfast was ok. Staff attentive .
Cons: Parking. The hotel facilities quite clearly state "private parking is available on site". One of the main reasons I booked this establishment was to have private, secure parking. I found this not to be the case. I arrived around 7.30pm and was told at reception that the only place to park would be either in the public road adjacent to the side of the building (I found no places available, which is not surprising at that time of the evening) or in the railway station opposite the hotel, which would incur charges. (9 euros I think for a 12 hour (overnight) stint). The local area ( close to the station) is not the most salubrious, and leaving a car unattended does give one cause for concern. I was not told about any private parking, though I did later read on the leaflet placed in the lift (see pic 1) that it is available at a cost of 3Euros - and it is also mentioned in the French version of the welcome pack in our room but NOT, surprisingly in the version translated into English. See pics 3, 2 and 1 above respectively. The possibility of parking my car on site was was never mentioned when I booked in.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Friendly staff, good location to access train and walk into town. Great walk along river into town just beyond the train station.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Friendly staff who spoke English. Excellent location beside the train station and the car rentals.
Cons: Wish the breakfast was included in the price. Or less expensive if you just want a coffee and croissant.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Helpful staff Location in front of train station Big confortable room Best value for money
Cons: Bathroom No door on shower box and flood floor.Space between toilet and wall too narrow
Okay 5,0
Pros: Not too far from the city center, 15 minute walking distance. We were able to park the car in the hotel garage paying an extra 3€.
Cons: WiFi was not available in the hotel, apparently due to maintenance works. Nevertheless, in the website it was not updated and WiFi available was the information given. Toilet very close to the wall in front (no room for legs in need to sit).
Good 7,5
Pros: Very close to the station.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The rooms were clean and quiet. The buffet was delicious.
Okay 4,0
Pros: Good breakfast, helpful staff. Relatively easy to find.
Cons: Location in a sketchy neighbourhood - did not feel comfortable going out after dark. No parking in an area with very limited over-night parking options. Elevator had no sensors on doors and was very aggressive - I had bruises all on my arm from trying to keep it from slamming shut on my friend.
Good 6,0
Pros: very good buffet breakfast, well worth the extra money.
Cons: The hallways on all floors seem to be currently undergoing major wiring, plastering and plumbing works which was a bit off-putting at first as we were not made aware of this. Our rooms, however, were fine.
Okay 5,6
Pros: Closeness to railway station
Cons: First room shawed had been used by a smoker despite smoking ban
Okay 5,0
Pros: The hotel is right at the station so very convenient if travelling by train, although a 15-20 minute walk to the main town. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The hotel offers free wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bathroom was a little squashed (the toilet is a bit close to the shower cubilcle) and there is nowhere to hang a towel. The hotel is not manned at night. It seems the hallways are in the middle of being decorated, this may be why the rate was discounted at the time of my stay, it didn't really affect the experience but was a bit messy and smelly on the walk to the rooms.
Good 6,3
Pros: Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The hallways were in a terrible state, I hope they were in the middle of renovating..?
Good 6,4
Pros: I accommodates a young family. Quiet and clean.
Cons: No complaints
Okay 5,6
Pros: The stqff Was lovely and very helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: I couldn't get the tv or phone to work properly and the room smelled very strongly of perfume, probably to cover other bad odors.

Pros: A very basic hotel . Good air conditioning. Clean comfortable bed. But no french charm at all. Good location for shops and main routes . Safe enclosed at night parking.
Okay 4,2
Pros: The staff were polite and the breakfast was average
Cons: If you like a sales reps hotel on the edge of an industrial estate far from the centre this is for you. A very poorly located hotel trying to break into the tourist market- you need a car to get there. The taxi fare from the station is 22 euros. As always look very carefully at the map
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The air-conditioning, WiFi and the separate beds.
Cons: Nothing really. Great value for money.
Excellent 8,0

Cons: Located in the commercial zone outside of the city. Difficult to find.
Okay 5,0
Pros: Secure Parking
Cons: It was completely remote on and industrial estate with absolutely nothing around. We had to drive into the city centre for restaurants
Good 6,0
Pros: While located in a shopping and industrial zone the place is very quiet at night. In room shower is at the bare minimum but clean. Breakfast is simple but ok.
Okay 5,0
Pros: The food was good for breakfast. It was good for a quick over night stay. Dinner was hard to come by and a short drive or 10 minute walk to macdonalds. Or even further to the local town. If you are travelling for business or need a budget stay this is a good hotel.
Okay 4,7
Pros: The breakfast room was pleasant, light and well presented.
Cons: The room was smaller than we expected and the bathroom was even smaller. The sound proofing was not adequate as we could hear other quests.
Good 6,0

Pros: The service and helpfulness of the staff was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and there are a lot of 5 star establishments that could take a leaf out of their book. The rooms are large, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Last but not least you are right in the centre of town but in a quiet street with very little street noise. Superb B&B!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The hotel was in an excellent position right in the heart of this beautiful tourist town. The owners were extremely helpful, friendly and charming. The room was very elegant and spacious along as were the bathroom facilities. The continental breakfast was declicious which is included in the price.I would return here again and again. I recommend this hotel very highly.
