Local transport is available, but getting around this island and its beaches and inland areas will be much easier by car. A larger car than the standard city runabout is best on the island, as the roads aren’t always great quality. An SUV or four-wheel drive would be a good choice, and air conditioning would be essential and probably a standard with most car hire firms in a country as hot as Greece.
