Pros: The host, Helen was just an exceptional host. She made us feel like we were at home. The area/place was close to everything we needed. We told Helen that anytime we're in Durban, we'll be staying there.

Pros: I loved how cozy the place was, it looked like a cottage and we absolutely loved how comfortable it was for us. I loved the fact that we had our own privacy. I loved the food they served us for breakfast and the hosts were quite friendly and made us feel welcome.

Pros: Had a lovely stay at guesthouse. Breakfast was delicious, the hosts was very pleasant and made our stay feel very special. During load shedding they made sure we had some light, and was checking on us to make sure everything is good. Parking is secure and we had a lovely time at guesthouse.

Pros: Geoff and Di were very friendly and went out of their way to make the weekend perfect. They gave us beach towels and were always around . As they did not have a booking thee day we were leaving they offered the late check out without us having to ask

Pros: Breakfast was well supplied, from fresh fruit to a warm breakfast, coffee, tea and juices, even small cakes. The general comfort of the facility was outstanding and homely. We didn't use our car at all, everything was within walking distance. Our daughter stayed the evening and the extra bed was made up with no hesitation. We found the property peaceful and were able to rest, with quiet nights to get a good nights rest. Very COVID friendly, sanitizers everywhere. Thank you for the awesome stay.

Pros: This holiday was booked with the high hopes that COVID would be under control in RSA upon our booked dates. Great was our disappointment when numbers started surging at the start of 2021. When uncle Cyril announced the closing of all beaches until further notice, we felt that we have wasted our hard-earned money. Since the beach closure came six days prior to our booking, it was too late to cancel without forfeiting money. We embarked on the journey from Jozi in trepidation. Upon arrival, the Covid19 protocols at Flamingo Lodge immediately took the edge off someone who is seen as a germaphobe. Not once did we feel compromised in terms of health. The guest house is walking distance from the beach and the village. Our 10 year old easily managed the walks. Even though the sea is not visible from the guest house, the the vibe makes up for it. The pool was absolutely lovely; it’s a fairly small pool so the water is always warm. We loved that we could come back after an evening walk on the promenade and take a swim (something prohibited at most of the surrounding hotels). The bathroom was so luxurious, I wish I could have taken it home! Our room was cleaned daily. The outside of the guest house is pristine. There is a full time gardener who sweeps all paved areas every day, cleans the pool and even rinses your car for you every morning! Parking is also secure and free - unlike the additional parking fee hotels charge. The guest house is also at the end of a cul-de-sac, so no noisy traffic. The breakfast was magnificent and is on par in terms of quality with places like Garden Court hotels. If I win the lottery, I will employ Thoko full time to make breakfast for our family! A laundry facility is offered at such a reasonable price (charged per bag of laundry, not per item), so we returned to Jozi with a bag of clean clothes instead of dirty laundry! Geoff and Di really make their guests feel like family.

Cons: On my arrival, they requested that i sanitise with hand sanitiser (with the breakout of the COVID 19) - this was impressive. But was not required any of the further stays - whats the point? It was unfortunate that the TV did not work on Night 1. Eventually they got a contractor to come and fix it but this was quite late in the evening. The second morning the electricity went out. When I returned in the late afternoon - it was still out. Eventually a contractor was called out and the electricity came back on. I understand that the above is perhaps out of their control but the TV should have been checked before guests arrive. The fabric chair in the room is dirty. The cupboard doors were dirty. The lamp on the desk did not have a bulb in it. The one basin did not have a tap fitting on the tap. The other basin did not have a waste fitting - things obviously have fallen in there - visible. Some of the curtains were not completely hung on the hooks. I think that the guest house needs urgent attention.

Pros: When I made the booking, I explained that it will be a father and daughter travelling. I made it very clear that 2 beds will be required. I especially booked this room as it has a sofa couch in a separate area - I was assured by the owner that this will be prepared for my daughter. Upon arrival the bed was made in a king and the couch not prepared either. Why did I even bother to ask?

Cons: Advertised as self catering - but does not have even one dishcloth in the kitchen.

Pros: The hosts were fantastic and gave us the most memorable experience. Very comfortable accommodation. Excellent breakfast . Can highly recommend this B+B. Will be back !

Cons: We arrived during school holidays, so naturally all 11 rooms were occupied. With the rooms close to each other, it kind of reduced the privacy feel a little. But that wasn't a hinderance at all to enjoying our time there.

Next time, please ensure that the garden and Lapa lights are working for when guests would like to chill and relax by the pool area, as they were not working during the duration of our visit. A bonus was that our room was upgraded which we really appreciate. The staff would even go the extra mile to inform you that the Bolt drivers were outside and waiting for you. S'ne was exceptional and so friendly, patient, and professional. She understands her role and why she is there.

Cons: The lighting by the Lapa and the poolside. The lights were not working and we had to chill in the dark. Next time please ensure that this is fixed. Also please be more flexible regarding dietary requirements. Not everyone consumes dairy. Those are the two points which can be improved on.

Cons: The breakfast was unacceptable. The general areas had no ac. simple requests that we made was not achievable for them eg. "Please can we get some ice?" "Sorry, we don't have any". Can't blame covid as ice got nothing to do with it! asked for an iron. Sorry, can't do it. basically, we booked a bed! That's all we got. I will never book there again!

Cons: Was not a comfortable experience. aircon didn't work. Called reception for towels, none was brought. The room looked unkept and untidy. Hardly any utensils in the room. My stay Was not worth the price I paid . Disappointed in what used to be one of my favorite hotels. Standards have dropped drastically.

Cons: No soap for bathing,towels hard and almost lost original colour,no light in balcony,few lights not working in the bedroom,light not working in the toilet,safety lock at the door broken / removed.
