They didn’t have a car reserved for me on arrival, and tried to charge a walk up rate. In the end, I lost the prepaid portion of my rental, sat in the coffee shop opposite and booked online with Avis (for cheaper than what they wanted to charge me). Really disappointed.

Nothing. The branch closed at the exact time of booking. Kayak or QEEQ didn’t ask for our flight details. The booking shouldn’t have been taken. We had to get a taxi to the resort, book an alternative rental and pay extra to drop it back at the airport.

Ace is operated by OK Rent a Car But they really work as separate companies and the OK employees want nothing to do with Ace problems. Which is what happened to me. I had a reservation with Ace that had to be paid with a credit card (not flagged by any of the emails). I have AMEX credit card. But OK did not want to take AMEX, and wouldn’t take any of my debit cards. After a long and stressful discussion (1 hour !!! after I entered the pickup booth) the situation was resolved with a financial penalty at a higher cost than originally contracted. The OK guys, at first defensive and denying any wrongdoing on their part, ended up understanding and trying to help, at a cost.

Pros:

The car was as expected.

Cons:

The drop off Station was closed during official opening hours when I wanted to give my car back. I had to spend 30 Eurostar in calls until finally someone came to open. No excuse, just rude behavior from all people involved. Never again

We arrived at 1am and were charged 60 euro for off hours pick up, even though I put in our flight number and time of pick up. Also , the car had zero (0) gas and we had to look for a gas station at 1 am

The kayak rental and what was ordered were 2 very different cars. As soon as confirmation email arrived it was different and smallsr to car that was on the kayak confirmation screen. Immediately tried contact Kayak and they told me to call Sixt. Sixt charged EU200 for a cancellation made on order that was changed, despite seeing my confirmation screen showing BMW X3 and providing me with X1. Following this, picking up the car was then left to pay for apparently mandatory insurance (despite already explaining I had comprehensive travel insurance) and then I found out later that it wasn't compulsory at all. Initial quote of EU 470 ended up being EU 1300. Never again
