The roads in Netanya and highways around Israel are generally well-maintained and smooth to drive on. This means that a standard-size or compact vehicle will be fine for Netanya car hire. However, if you plan to do a lot of driving around more rural areas or if you want to head north from Netanya, where the roads may be less well-kept, a larger vehicle with 4X4 capacity will give you added peace of mind for navigating rough terrain.
The speed limits in Netanya are displayed in km/h rather than mph. If you’re driving in built-up areas, the speed limit is usually set at 50 km/h (30 mph). On single carriageways outside the city, this speed limit goes up to 80 km/h (50 mph), while on some high-speed roads, the limit is as high as 110 km/h (70 mph). Highway 6 is a highway in Israel with a speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph).
Compared with larger cities, like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, it is quite easy to find free car parks in Netanya. Parking at the roadside is also free and legal in Israel, as long as the pavement is not marked with red or white paint to signify no parking. You will also find multiple paid car parks located in central Netanya and near the beachfront. When you pay for parking in Netanya, you will usually pay around 30-80 ILS (7-17 GBP) for a 2 hour stay.

Pros:
Absolutely nothingCons:
The attempt by Sixt to charge us for insurance that was already included in our booking. We refused to pay, never hired the car, informed both Sixt & KAYAK but never received any refund. We LOST money dealing with KAYAK & Sixt. Never again! How you are still in business when you treat customers this way is beyond me2,0 Poor

Pros:
NothingCons:
It was impossible to get someone on the phone - the local shop would pick up their phone and hang it up immediately and the headquarters kept us on hold for over and hour and then all they told us is they couldn't help us since it was international and we could only deal with the local branch. The car itself smelled like awful body odor, Insurance costs more than the car itself, and they do an awful job explaining what it covers. Just an all around terrible experience that I would never go back for.2,0 Poor

Pros:
We were quoted a daily rate on the kayak website with a final total to pay with sixt. When we arrived at the sixt rental agency in Netanya we were charged over £120 more as the total we were quoted (and as stated total to pay, did not include insurance. These additional charges should have been clearly presented on the Kayak daily rate or in the total amount to be paid. There is a mention of insurance in the terms and conditions but you would have to look for this. We wasted our time and I would not use the Kaysk search engine again for car rental2,0 Poor

Pros:
Their Netanya office us pretty close to a train station, which made arrival acceptable.Cons:
You need to know that the basic insurance is charged, and that amount was as high as the rental amount. At a phone call with the rental company service, I was specifically answered that the rental amount includes basic insurance, but the rental office would not accept what their service told me, even after I played them the call recording. One location in Netanya

Pros:
A car with 101,500 km on the clock, low front true pressure, headlight not working. Made to wait 1.5 hours for the car as not clean (filthy in and out) and no fuelCons:

Pros:
The second car that was given to me (after a couple of days of struggle with the first car that was all dented and had no running lights and some wires hanging down close to the brake pedal, safety hazards galore)Cons:
The service at the place was terrible. They dont accept you as a client and do you a favor when they finally serve you. The first car that was given to me (was promised a Mazda 3 and got a 2014 Citroen) was all dented and with no running headlights. There was a wire hanging by the brake pedal which was a big safety hazard. The engine was making a load noise and when I commented on that they told me to drive in the back to their service department to get it looked after. I didnt come to rent a car and drive it to be fixed. Overall I lost two days of my trip in negotiating a replacement car which I finally got (2014 Jetta) and which was in much better condition than the first one. Most popular car type | Mini |
