An SUV or Jeep is ideal for driving on Montenegro’s mountainous roads and exploring the area’s many scenic routes. Although there may be heavy traffic in the city centre, the streets are generally not too narrow so a large vehicle will generally fare well in and around Budva. Spacious vehicles will also give you more storage, which is ideal if you plan to head off on long hikes or take a picnic out to nearby natural attractions. You will also have plenty of room for beach supplies if you plan to spend your days on Budva Beach.
If you’re driving your Budva car hire in a built-up area, the speed limit is 30 mph (50 km). In rural areas, the speed limit is 60 mph (80 km). Meanwhile, on motorways and large highways, you can go up to 80 mph (100 km). Remember that speed limit signs in Montenegro are displayed in km rather than mph.
You will not find metered car parks in Montenegro as most car parks are manned by an attendant who takes the entrance fee. Parking in Budva is generally affordable, with car park rates of around €1-2 per hour and sometimes even less than this. There are also several secure 24h car parks conveniently located inside the city centre and just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. You can also park at the street side in Montenegro but make sure you pay attention to any signage or parking rules in the vicinity.
Cons:I did not get a car, My credit card could not give them a deposit of $ 12,500. If I had not known in advance I might have been able to do something about it. I have never encountered such a thing and this is the first time I've rented a car. Right now I'm stuck without a car. Please help me. First you hurt me on vacation, without a car the vacation looks different. Of all the times I rented a car, they never asked me for a deposit like this. I ask you to cancel and return the payment, you took from me. On avis and insurance. You can check with avis that we did not take the vehicle because of this deposit. Best regards, Naor Hi Robert, I know that when you take a vehicle you have to give a certain amount for deposit. Never, have they asked me for such a high amount (12 thousand USD) I purchased $ 60 for your site. Since I did not take any car then the insurance is not valid and therefore I ask you to cancel it. Second, you made me a very big problem, I could not travel with a vehicle with this high deposit amount. I will also contact AVIS Worldwide for an answer regarding this amount. It ruined our trip. Give me back the money for the insurance. Best regards , Naor Zeitouni

Pros:They had many child seats to choose from.
Cons:Lack of selection. Green card was not included and expensive. Extremely difficult drive in
Pros:Staff at Avis pickup, Budva were friendly and some spoke very good English. Paperwork was completed efficiently and car (Dacia Sandeep) was new and in great condition. We even returned the car 10 minutes late and no eyebrows were raised.
Cons:I opted not to purchase additional cover because the price was too high. However, the staff were fine with this and didn't push me into paying for more cover.
