Cons: Not much actually. The way the room was furnished gave you a bit of a bric-à-brac impression, but that is probably part of the charm. Mattresses could be a bit harder.

Beds and pillows are excellent, and Rituals cosmetics in the bathroom. The breakfast is variated and tasty. We enjoyed staying in this hotel very much.

Pros: The staff were really polite and the breakfast a moment of history! During our breakfast we enjoyed the steamboats passing by the terrace!

Cons: There could well be a refrigerator in the room, albeit the staff took our medicine to the refrigerator of the kitchen-Thanks for that!

Pros: Fantastic location right on the waterfront, very convenient for visiting Olavinlinna castle. Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely building, especially the dining room that's used for the substantial breakfast.

Cons: Nothing really. It's a traditional family hotel so don't expect the latest in room tech or decor.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful and is still planning upgrades. The staff are super helpful and the owner just happened to be there to greet us on arrival,was so cordial and nice and even helped my wife with her luggage. That is outstanding service. We loved our “standard double room”. Breakfast is excellent and you can eat on the terrace or in the sumptuous dining room. And we used the sauna to complete our Finnish experience. Hotel Hospitz is definitely on my recommended list.

Pros: Super nice staff, very helpful. A bit outside of Savonlinna, but easy to find and to go to town in a few minutes. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, breakfast was good. Not a big variety but enough for our needs.

Cons: We had 2 beautiful rooms, but in one it was tricky to adjust the AC, and we had some noice from a ventilator during the night, even though it was switched off. Still, we slept well.

Pros: Nice clean bedrooms with really clean and spacious shared bathrooms. The beds were really comfy which was great after a 7 hour drive. The staff were awesome about a very late check in - we just paid in the morning. The included breakfast was alright too! Really close to some interesting local points to check out!

Pros: Room with games for children, and beautiful shared living room with piano. Breakfast at adults school in a great atmosphere.

Pros: Fantastic place to stay in the countryside, but with nearby supermarket and good facilities, which were easy to reach by car. The room was located in a wooden house, which was nicely decorated. The breakfast was good and varied. Good value for money.

Pros: Just finished with the lobby renovation, the rooms were also updated last winter. Exceptionally helpful staff. Have their own garage parking. Very central location with great views from the room.

Pros: First of all, the location and view are amazing. One may easily reach such sights as Olavinlinna Castle and beautiful quay by foot, not to mention the variety of restaurants and shops in Olavinkatu, just behind the corner. My family and I are completely satisfied with the design of the room and organization of breakfasts. Even though we stayed during the weekend, there was no noise or disturbance. Staff are very kind and helpful, and rooms are always kept clean.

Pros: The room is large and the host left three bedrooms open even we have only two. So we slept in two rooms which is not expected. This place is more suitable for family to stay more days.

Cons: In the hallway was a sign saying it rated 8.6 on booking. Well, it was shabby and there were weird smells, that they tried to cover with cheap perfume. It was cheap, sure. But I'd definitely NOT recommend it.

Pros: The location is perfect. And I really regret forgetting to ask the name of the young man in hotel reception. He helped me a lot. I arrived there around midnight cause there's no flight to savonlinna in August, and he was willing to show me the restaurants still open at that time. When I missed my train, he helped me to search the different way back to Helsinki. And let me to take a free sauna. I really need to go back to thank him in October.

Cons: The room is old and the lights are so dark.

Pros: The hotel appears to have been built in the 1970s and hasn't changed much since. Everything looks quite tired. Having said that, our room was spacious and comfortable and with a great balcony view. Good location.

Pros: The hostess was extremely accomodating when we hit traffic and had trouble arriving in time before the check-in closing. The location was good and gave us a great base for exploring what the town had to offer.

Pros: Only good things about it: * close to the lake and castle; * free parking. Other than this, do not recommend, especially if you’re traveling as a couple.

Cons: 1) Twin beds were separated with furniture in such a way that it was impossible to push them together in such a small room. 2) There was the same kind of smell in the room that you usually find in the rooms for sports camps or school dormitories. 3) Just small things showed that it’s a really budget place. But the prices don’t necessarily reflect this and you can pay basically the same price as you pay in a better place.

Pros: Charming staff and amazing breakfast buffet. Ideal situation for lake cruises and not so far from Railway Station, shops and the Castle. They cater for Coeliacs. Beautiful part of Suomi/Finland. Spacious apartment.

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located opposite the marina in the heart of Savonlinna. The staff were helpful. The room was a good size.

Cons: The wifi was only available in the hotel lobby. For 110 Euros p/n I would expect it throughout the hotel. The TV channels intermittently disappeared in the room. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms - there was a small fan in the room but it is not the same.

Pros: Room felt comfortable (except for power outlet positions, although there were several outlets). Staff was very nice. Refrigerator was spacious. Excellent location near the tourist's harbor. Above-average breakfast buffet.

Cons: They initially had the wrong number of nights in their records—an erroneous transfer from booking.com to their system, that they fixed after I showed them the receipt from my online reservation. No wired or wireless internet access available during my stay. Staff said it was a problem because they had just opened for the summer (in mid-June). Accessing power outlets to plug in the phone and refrigerator required crawling under tables (in a single room). Some other power outlets were too high above the furniture, so my phone's power cord did not reach them.
