Pros: Everything in this accommodation was amazing, the staff was lovely, they even remember your name!!!. I'm gluten and lactose intolerant and they made sure everyday, they have bread, cereals and milk for me. It isn't a big restort and that is what we like the most, that they treat everyone as part of a little family. They care about you and your needs, and they do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable. I would recommend this resort 100% and as soon as we are in Rarotonga we are going to stay there again. Thank you to all the Castawst team.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Just the perfect accommodation for me and my partner.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, spacious room with big terrace or balcony. Good breakfast with a view. Also good dinner option. Location perfect for sunsets.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: We had a very nice stay at Castaway Resort. And thanks so much to the owners who did everything they could to make our stay even better. They heard we were on our honeymoon and upgraded us to a better room, that is a gesture we really appreciated.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Super friendly staff, exceptional food, great location and all for a good price. Highly highly recommend this place, will be staying here again.
Cons: Couldn't fault a thing
Excellent 8,0
Pros: All the staff are very friendly, a credit to the owners. Continental breakfast included. Can walk straight from the units onto the sandy beach, into the water. Cafe/Resturant being on the sand had a relaxed holiday vibe about it. Bus stop outside of resort. Would definitely return.
Cons: An extractor fan in the bathroom would be good as it got very hot.
Mediocre 2,5
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We had a flight to Rarotonga from Auckland. Our entry to Cook islands was denied because of the Coranavirus. We transited Indonesia in the last 14 days. When the airline said that we cannot go to Cook, I sent a msg to the hotel saying that we will not arrive. One day after they took the money for the booking and said they cannot refund. I have the proof of the flights but they do not care. They want to take the money and that’s all. They do not think of the clients. Was not my fault that their country did not leave me in, even if in that moment in Indonesia were only 2 coronavirus cases.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Where it was and the Wilson bar and restaurant was amazing. Our room had a great view of the ocean. Everyone was so helpful
Cons: Nothing :)

Pros: Despite a few cons, we all loved staying at this hotel and would recommend others to stay here. The beach outside the resort is probably one of the nicest that we saw on the island and felt very private. If you want to relax undisturbed on a hammock then this is the right place. The two pools were good sizes and very clean. The whole resort felt very well maintained. We were very impressed with the standard and amenities of our rooms in the pool side villas. The quality of food in the restaurant (a la carte) was also very good (although breakfast is quite standard) - we also found the staff in the restaurant very friendly!
Cons: Unfortunately we found a couple of the staff on reception to be quite unfriendly and unhelpful when we had questions about activities on the island. We didn't have the best check in experience as we had to wait over an hour for our transfer (knowing this we would have got a taxi which works out the same price). We stayed at Sunset over Christmas, and it was a shame that more effort wasn't made around the hotel to put it in the Christmas spirit (E.g Christmas songs/ decorations on Xmas day, or even a special morning breakfast would have been a nice touch). The pool bar was also unstaffed the whole time we were there.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The Sunset was everything we wanted plus more. Our meals including the daily continental breakfast were excellent. great cocktails made by Rua :-) very friendly helpful staff. Housekeeping ladies were fabulous even with all our questions and the unit was serviced daily apart from Sunday but the staff made sure we were substantially supplied. Facilities were fantastic, the pools were very clean and always very tidy.
Cons: The only thing we were not really happy with was the bed being two singles pushed together was not ideal, we would have preferred a complete mattress. Also the resident rooster was a pain crowing from 1.30am everyday.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Lovely staff and facilities
Cons: Rooms were quite noisy
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Room 6...the best. Excellent ocean view and access. All staff..dining room, bar, cleaning..so helpful. And front desk staff...exceptional. Great location..quiet but easy access to town and Muri area. Food excellent.
Cons: The bed!! Sooo soft. Mattress very thick but no firmness. Needs replacement!!!! My only complaint.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The very friendly hospitality.the general ambienceof the resort..
Cons: The price.far too expensive
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Loved its simplicity- not commercial, quiet, stunning location and wonderful, friendly staff. Delicious food as well.
Cons: Nothing except maybe the bed, 2 doubles pushed together with egg crate. It could have been more comfortable.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The two large and deep pools in proportion to the number of overall resort size, and beautiful garden surroundings make it an excellent place to relax and unwind.
Cons: Some improvements to the blinds could make the rooms more sound proof to keep out noises of roosters and guests that don't know how to keep their voices down outside when it's dark.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: This is our 3rd stay at the Sunset over the last 8 years and we'll keep coming back as we love it. The relaxing atmosphere, cleanliness, beautiful gardens, and fantastic pools make it the perfect place to enjoy and unwind. This we we tried another resort but only lasted two days before cancelling and booking into the sunset. The extra cost was worth it. Continental Breakfast was good with fresh local fruit and fruit salad every day.
Cons: The roosters....But that's part of life in the Cooks and you get used to them!! Maintenance on the metal window shades would help.

Pros: Location, service & view.
Cons: N/A
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Close to the Lagoon, Restaurant on-site, breakfast included and staff.
Cons: A few maintenance issues need attention........Fly screen door didn’t lock, bathroom door didn’t close properly, plug in basin leaked.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Actually changed to the sister hotel Moana Beachfront apartments when we arrived which were great and had a pool. Fantastic staff especially Chris who was lovely and went out of her way to help. Thank you! Beach and snorkelling were amazing. Great to have free use of snorkels, beach shoes and kayaks.
Cons: Didn’t realise Moana Sands has 3 locations. All great but very different. The hotel had some building work going on so we decided to move to the apartments up the road. There is also an adult only resort. This hotel was very nice and as previous reviews have stated it is a bit dated and hasn’t got a pool but it does have the perfect beach location.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Beachfront
Cons: Very poor breakfast Uncomfortable bed Only 2 tv channel’s
Good 6,0
Pros: The snorkling possibilities- just outside the hotel
Cons: How old the hotel was. Price was too high for what I offers. Toilet could use some extra cleaning. Comparing to other hotels, the possibility to choose water equipment was just poor.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The perfecto place, the silence, the local people
Cons: "the flyes in the evening"
Excellent 9,0
Pros: All rooms have an amazing view of the beach. One of the nicest beaches anywhere with amazing snorkeling. Rooms are a bit dated and basic, but very spacious and clean. Plenty of equipment to use on site such as kayaks and snorkeling gear. Staff were very helpful, and Chris from the front desk was very friendly. Property is well maintained overall.
Cons: Breakfast was OK, but could have been better. Coffee was weak, and if you wanted to add anything hot like eggs, you basically needed to order a full extra breakfast. The early check-in or late checkout fees are excessive and almost a full room night.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: This was our 3rd Christmas on Rarotonga and I'd have to say it was our best choice so far, being right on the beach with kayaks, fantastic snorkelling and really comfy beds in an air-conditioned room. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff were wonderful too. Beautiful sunsets from Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel as well! Only 5 minutes walk to Charlie's for superb fish sandwiches.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The location was amazing, The staff were fantastic. We loved it and if we are ever lucky enough to find ourselves back in Rarotonga we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Pros: Owners are very nice and helpful. Room is clean and tidy. You can access the beach within one minute.
Cons: It’s not by the beach. The owner built too many villas on a small land. no view at all, all you can see on your balcony are the other villas, roofs, and someone else’s bed.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The villa we got was perfect! The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed and more. The living room was great and comfortable. It was a very relaxed feel throughout. The beach was just a very short stroll away - hammocks and lounge chairs!!! Great to watch the sunset or just have an afternoon nap! Location: close to some very nice restaurants and a great bakery! Matt and Adele are great hosts - great knowledge handed to us as first-timers to the Island. We'll be back! THANK YOU!!!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: the new owners were wonderfull to deal with
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Adele and Matt are lovely hosts and happy to chat or help with local advice. The apartment was spacious and well equipped, except the oven wasn't working which meant cooking options were restricted. Good sized fridge. It's a short walk to the beach for beautifully warm swimming/snorkelling, and their swing seat on the beach is a perfect sunset spot. A scooter is handy for transport as it's a way from the main centre, but you need a full motorcycle license to hire. Otherwise there is a bus once an hour. Free-range (friendly) dogs on site.
Cons: Only niggle is paying top dollar for an 'Ocean View room' which wasn't as advertised. There is no ocean view, apart from a glimpse through trees. They are new owners and have since changed the listing description. The pre-arranged airport taxi is overly expensive for a ten-minute ride ($22 per person), although you get a fresh flower garland (lei) on arrival which is nice. Internet access is prohibitively expensive for this day and age.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Loved the staff/owners friendliness! Very informal settings including DVDs, laundry, small pool (we never used), water toys such as masks, snorkels, water shoes, ocean kayaks. Well landscaped alleys, private villas. Not exactly waterfront, but 50m (150') walk from the beach is still a great location!
Cons: In USA early check-in, late check-out is a common courtesy (of course based on availability) that appears to be not the case here in the Cook Islands.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts. Great location
Good 7,9
Pros: Host were great! DVD selection saved the day. Restaurants next door. Plenty of souvenirs downtown and convenience store nearby. There are two fitness centers in town that open in the AM and have showers just in case. 2 miles from the center of town. Beach access is two minute walk.
Cons: Cable news or some sort of TV programming would be great. Free AC would be even better. Tourist information and pamphlets about the island, restaurants, etc. Taxi over charge was unexpected. :-(.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The cleanliness of the property the comfort of the bed the stunning beachside’ with kayaks&beach shoes provided’.No faults thank you Cooks Oasis

Pros: Matt is a CHAMPION. Top setup. Reasonably priced. Lots of little extras to make the perfect holiday spot.

Pros: Position and privacy and loved the sound of the waves on the reef. Sheryl and John, the managers, were very helpful.
Cons: Thought room rate a little high. Pool was too cold. Wouldn't have liked to stay at a very hot time of year and had to pay for the aircon on top of room rate. We were happy with ceiling fan in July weather.

Pros: Facilitys were great, staff friendly and extremely clean. Felt peaceful tranquil
Cons: Absolutely nothing

Cons: closeness to restaurants

Cons: nothing
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Nicely situated between the main town and Muri with a regular bus stop outside the property. Good pool and free kayaks.
Cons: Restrictions on cooking in the apartment, lack of hanging space for clothes and although there is a lovely beach the rocks and coral makes swimming in the sea a challenge!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This property was kept very clean, lovely hosts. Had everything you need on a holiday, beautiful pool which we used a lot
Cons: Air Con was set on one temperature, happy to pay $2 per hour & 1/2 but would prefer to be able to increase as required, was super hot & was hard to get to sleep. Unit 6 not sure what the other units were like.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Beautiful Beachfront Bungalow on the edge of the lagoon. Very low key and friendly. A little off the road so no traffic noise. Owners & Managers were fantastic. Would definitely come again

Cons: Facility was not airconditioned
Excellent 9,0
Pros: This is a compact Resort and I loved there was no hustle and bustle with masses of people. The staff are friendly, interactive and incredibly helpful with sharing their knowledge of the "Things to do" in Rarotonga. I am looking forward to heading b ack there again in a year or so.
Cons: It took a little while to get used to the roosters that roam wild but these are a challenge all over the island and are not restricted to just this area.
Good 7,0
Pros: The quite west facing beach. The approachable staff. the sound of the sea. The live music. Suggestions and advice on tours. New local doctor
Cons: The road noise. the cockroaches, the poor wifI at times. Could have been offered 3 days wifi hotspot free.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Loved the staff , proximity to beach
Cons: Shipwreck bar which is part of the property only serves very limited food options, mostly heated in microwave. BBQ on the beach on Saturday night was cancelled, not enough people booked, very dissapointed.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Location - a few steps to the water, great spot for snorkelling, wonderful sunsets. Friendly and helpful staff - all with a sense of humour! Accomodation - spacious, well laid out - all the basics for self catering - super strong shower! Substantial breakfasts included - fresh fruit, warm muffins, toast and spreads and of course the local coffee. Welcoming hosts, Steve and Geraldine have a depth of local knowledge which they willingly shared when approached for information eg local places of interest, walks, restaurants, markets.
Excellent 9,4
Pros: Great breakfast at the Shipwreck Hut Beachside, colourful tie-dye bedspread & curtains & cute bungalows
Cons: Lots of roosters around the property that start crowing at 4:30am right outside the bungalows!!!!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great breakfast experience! Great staff and the owners are utterly lovely. Really can't fault this place one bit, the bar serves a relatively limited menu but the food itself is very good and the bar staff are friendly.

Pros: The location was excellent and the hotel grounds well maintained. We liked the restaurant: food, staff and the nightly entertainment there were very good
Cons: Reception - nothing we have asked or ordered through reception was done correctly: * Booked a table for dinner, the restaurant wasn't notified * Ordered boxed breakfasts for the next day, the restaurant knew nothing about our request. * Ordered a prepaid transfer to the airport - not a cheap option at $60 for party of three for just 4km taxi ride. The pickup time was set to 9:30 p.m. and the reception closes at 5 p.m so given the prior experience I have twice confirmed the time and got assured that the driver will be available. When we showed up for pick up there was no driver to take us to the airport, worse, the security person did not even have our name on the transfer list that night. AC Unit in the room was randomly stopping and had to be manually activated several times a night. Stray dogs and chicken were roaming freely throughout the property, roosters making loud noise all night interrupting sleep Beware - the resort charges a 3% fee for all credit card transactions. You can charge the restaurant bill to the room number, but then the hotel will add the credit card fee to it. There is no extra fee if you pay directly to the restaurant.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The Location is Paradise and in my opinion way superior to the more 5 star known resorts on Raro. The restaurant staff and food quality also superior to the Muri competitors.
Cons: This time only 8 days.
Good 6,0
Pros: Great food at restaraunt
Cons: No free WiFi. The resort is over run by wild roosters crowing at 3am in the morning very annoying
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The location is amazing, easily the best thing about Manuia. the pool area is awesome, restaurant is ok, expensive. Rooms are very spacious, love the outdoor shower.
Cons: Noisiness. Our room was beachfront and close to the restaurant. Loud pepple early in the morning and close to the sevice alley was a downer. Had to buy data that didnt work in our rooms and no real help from staff. Had to sit outside office to contact family.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Staff really nice! Great location!
Cons: The chickens walk freely for the resort woke up me very early in the morning! Every morning!
Okay 5,7
Pros: I liked the proximity to the beach
Cons: I thought the room looked average - sparse furniture, not very inviting.
Mediocre 3,7
Pros: The pool was nice and bar staff friendly.
Cons: The plumbing was inadequate with poo coming up the basin. I could not eat at the restaurant as there were lots of flies. The mattresses on the loungers were dirty and smelly.

Pros: enjoyed the consistent and high level of service, great food nice off beach private bungalow - well setup
Cons: beach not as nice as muri for general swimming activities due to the closeness of the outer reef and lack of much open area for swimming
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Staff were fantastic
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Loved our private cabana and pool, very romantic and peaceful!! Very nice cottage!!!!! Enjoyed snorkeling out front and close to getting a scooter to travel around the island!! Ordered a drink of the day and it was delivered to private cabana...very nice service!!
Cons: Breakfast would run out of a few things...sometimes short on food items...
Good 6,0
Pros: The staff were great, the size of the room was also fab.
Cons: It was nice but dated. In need of a major overhaul. Stating that it is 5 star is definitely pushing it
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Buffet breakfast was excellent, and they had eggs cooked to order.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The beachfront location is stunning and the bungalows are well designed. Access straight onto the beach was a real bonus. The staff were always happy and cheerful. Although small, the pool was perfect.
Cons: Having to pay for wifi which was narrow and severely limiting. The single channel tv was annoying when it was raining and nothing to do and 50% in Chinese. Mosquito's and Sand Flies were a real problem with no deterrent issued by the hotel. I got bitten a lot. Storm damage repairs were being carried out in front of our bungalow during our stay, but no compensation or discount was offered although the workmen were there every day in front of our beach front bungalow. They were our view.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very friendly staff always welcoming, breakfast was always well made highly recommend to try rukau, delicious. Always peaceful and quiet, felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Security, housekeeping and swimming equipment were amazing. Highly recommended.
Cons: The beach wasn’t really visible from our beachfront villa due to untamed trees. I know it would have been a lovely view.

Pros: the friendly and helpful staff
Good 7,9
Pros: The staff were great and the location was amazing! Beautiful private beach!
Okay 5,0
Pros: Location on best beach on Rarotonga is great but garden view hut was really terrible-musty & moldy smelling, sliding screen door had large holes in the screen and no latching mechanism and there are many mosquitoes. Brought to management's attention but nothing at all was done during our 2 week stay. Management very brusque when communicating with me on numerous mundane matters. Such a shame since virtually everyone else we dealt with on the island is so friendly and outgoing.
Cons: See above
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Location and lovely staff
Cons: Rooms were in need of a freshen up and repainting.
Good 7,0
Pros: Breakfast was good - fruit and cereal, bread and boiled eggs plus tea or coffee. Liked the location which was right on the beach. Restaurant was fine and staff there friendly. Cabin was island style which was attractive.
Cons: Air con not adequate for heat and did not keep pace at all. May have just been a problem in our unit. Garden lights very bright at night and hard to sleep with them. Not very private as access to the beach was close by and people wandering around even at 7am in the morning. Would ask for unit 1 to 5 if went again as they seemed more private. Thought the use of the washing machine and dryer could have been included for the price.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: They included a delicious light breakfast with plenty of fresh local fruit and hb eggs. We went to church on their free shuttle and were astounded by the amazing choir chanting in multiple part harmony. Sunday night banquet was fantastic!
Cons: Wish we never had to leave. Next time we’ll stay a month!

Pros: The staff were friendly
Cons: The fact we had asked in advance to be picked up from airport and nobody came...we had to find our own way at 2am... linen wasn't changed until the day we left...,we were there for 7 days
Good 7,5
Pros: We had a beachfront villa, lovely sea views and private beach..bus stop at gate, established gardens.
Cons: Washing machine pretty old and dated, only 1 for all the units to share. Rooms pretty basic, with AirConditioning unit above the bed being old, disconnected, so not working .
Good 7,1
Pros: Good location for the airport if you’re stopping over for a couple of nights but not the best place for long stay in Raro. Big room, well equipped, large bathroom. Short walk from the Blackrock Beach (less than 1 min).
Cons: Basic finish and expensive for the standard offered. Staff never on site so all communication done by email. Not much around apart from beautiful beach. Shower only suitable for short people (below 175cm).
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Didn’t have any so I wouldn’t know
Cons: The taxi driver ripping me off
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We stayed at the Reef Motel because of its proximity to a wedding venue we were checking out. It also is close proximity to the airport. We were very happy with the accommodation. Unfortunately the weather wasnt the best but we felt safe in our room whilst the wind blew and it poured with rain!!!
Okay 5,0
Pros: The room was nice, and close to the beach. It is a nice resort close to the Edgewater Resort, and with well kept grounds.
Cons: I was not happy to pay 3.5% fee for paying with a Debit Card (not a credit card). I was not happy to hear that the staff are paid a very low wage, and that they did not receive what they were contracted to get.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: The location of the property is a major plus, being so closed to the airport and downtown area. A local bus stop is in front of the property making it very easy to ride buses everywhere instead of having to rent a car. A small property and the owner is very considerate and helpful in every way to make my stay as enjoyable as it can be, such as early check-in and late check-out which is very important for U.S. travellers since flights usually arrive early in the morning and depart very late at night. The nice porch in the villas is very suitable to see the sunrise and sunsets. The staff was also very helpfull and friendly.
Cons: The property really needs a good fumigation because of insects inside the rooms such as ants and some other flying bugs. I even saw rodents in the property. Faucets should be replaced in some showers. A few upgrades will change the property for better since it has a nice but rocky beach. Agua socks are must to walk on the beach and also for swimming., It is cozy and basic and good for the money .
Excellent 8,3
Pros: The location was great 10 min walk to Edgewater where rest of family was staying. Has its own beach area which was very nice. The staff were very friendly and approachable and helped in any way possible to make your stay stress free .
Cons: Roosters wake you up every morning they run wild all over Rarotonga does not matter where you stay, but got used to them.

Pros: Perfect location for my work being close to town. Clean and the room was quite spacious.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Close to town and the beach. Chantelle was super friendly and helpful! Good value. Bus stop right outside. Flexible check in/check out and easy transfers to the airport.
Cons: A little lonely staying there on my own, and it was quiet, but it was a great location and close to town with a bus stop right outside so easy to get out and about.
Good 7,1
Pros: After traversing the many wonderous places on the Island of Rarotonga during the day, it was great to retreat to the paradise Inn at night. I really was surprised by the staff who make it a pleasure to stay at P.I Cookislands. They went above and beyond expectation to help make my stay an enjoyable one. Manager Chantelle & all the support staff were very understanding & always willing to facilitate assistance with travel plans or give valuable advice when it was needed. Great beach access, close to shops&town. To further explore the Island, it's easy to rent a bike or car from www.polynesianhire.co.ck My room was 3star (as advertised), but I felt like I got the 5star treatment. Considering the price I paid for the length of stay; I would look to revisit Paradise again.
Cons: The place could do with an upgrade
Excellent 8,3
Cons: Chantelle is a great host, very helpful, told me evertyhing I needed to know, where to go, where to eat, best beaches. Room was tidy, cleand ever day. Tea, coffee, refrigerator, toster in the room. Close to stores, bus stop in front of the hotel. Small beach right next to it. I loved staying there.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Chantelle and the size of the rooms were the best parts.

Pros: Great Location
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The staff were wonderful especially Mini-Rose who was super helpful. The spaghetti restaurant was exceptional in terms of island service & food quality. The cleanliness of the hotel & the accommodation was to a good standard when I was there 9yrs ago & on this visit. The hotel is looking very tired though in general & I thought the offering especially the breakfast area & offering of non-cooked food. I'm vegan & getting hot healthy vegan options was a real challenge which on an island where there is more to offer organically than most places around the world is a real challenge in fact I had to live on chips most of the time as a hot meal - thank goodness for the Spaghetti House!
Cons: The Wifi is a costly investment once you get to the island & once paid for you have to be in a hot spot, imagine my surprise having spent on yet another $50 for 3GB (or Edgewater $60 for 2GB :>0) that I couldn't use what I'd bought from BlueSky at the Edgewater. I had to work while I was away for 3.5 wks & that became almost impossible once you invest in wifi you can only use in a hotspot - few & far between places. So it definitely feels like you've been taken advantage of by the big corporate!
Okay 5,0
Pros: Nice bed, clean room, good housekeeping staff.
Cons: Room was painted right before we walked in and smelt like paint for two days, breakfast was basic and bland, kids and people walking through restaurant with bare feet, pool didn’t look like pictures, too many kids screaming and running everywhere. Definitely more of a family with young kids kinda place. Some much nicer places to stay on island.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Happy friendly staff and great value
Good 6,0
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The property is looking very tired and the rooms quite baron. they seemed very budget - did not like the soap, shampoo dispensers and the water was very silty to drink.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: I had always heard the edgewater waa quite run down and old school but the staff were very friendly, it was tidy and well presented. Food was great and amazing cocktails. The pool was nice for all ages and the coco lods club sounded great for our children. The night crab races were a hit. Unfortunately we missed the island night but will definitely do that next time. Loved our 3 bedroom villa, even had a washing machine. We would stay again with our family.
Cons: The beach itself isn't very nice, very stoney and not ideal for children. Also being a big resort it was a big walk in the heat to get breakfast. A bit of construction going on around the beach area too
Excellent 10,0
Pros: I like the relaxed friendly atmosphere
Cons: I liked everything
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Breakfast, location and people were very good. Resort giving us room at end while we waited for flight was much appreciated. Missing that place and the trip we had with our family provided great memories for us all. Thanks
Cons: Nothing to report here.

Mediocre 3,0
Pros: The Fijian staff were lovely..and the lady who taught us how to tie pareu. Room was clean.
Cons: Some of the staff at front office. Down right rude! We got no hello welcome just where's your booking..a cruise ship had come in so they took 1 st priority..I waited in line at the bar like everyone else and they kept serving everyone but me. Rude rude rude..not all..the Fijian staff very nice.as for the others rude. Will never return and will spread the word not to go their either
Excellent 9,1
Pros: The people, the views, the water, the animals and the food were all so amazing I can't recommend this island enough! Even traveling from so far away we know we will be back for our next big special celebration. An absolute must on a travel top ten list! Kia Orana!
Cons: The bed is my only complaint. It says we booked a king and the size was accurate however it was actually two twin mattresses put together and one was a very different firmness so it sank down on one side. This was very disappointing for our honeymoon as we are a snuggle to sleep type couple. But this is the only thing I can complain about, everything else was incredible.
Okay 5,0
Pros: Motel rooms were dirty and not serviced properly, however location and facilities were amazing.
Cons: Cleaning
Good 7,0
Pros: The Rarotongan beach resort was everything we expected it to be for the price we paid. Great facilities and lots to keep you entertained. The restaurant had great food options and catered well for vegans and vegetarians.
Cons: The staff at reception could have been more attentive. On several occasions we asked for a map, local knowledge and advice on trips and the staff at reception could not really help us out. If you are a couple and do not have any children I would recommend to stay in the sister hotel next door called The Sanctuary - much more relaxing and the staff took better care of us.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing with the most beautiful view of the ocean and the fishes. Could even feed the fishes while eating breakfast :)
Cons: Some of the ladies at the activity hutt could have been nicer however most of the staff were super friendly.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Everything
Cons: As a family of 9, 4 adults and 5 children everything was there for us. The kids had great fun in the pool and kids club. The kitchen and bar staff were amazing. Thanks for making our stay so great after our flight was cancelled.
Mediocre 3,0
Pros: Lovely welcome. Great facilities and location. Room was lovely and comfortable. Lovely beach and snorkelling was excellent! Great food and restaurant staff.
Cons: Falsely advertised on property description on booking.com that there is a free continental breakfast. This is not the case. We were told on check in that breakfast is not included and costs 28 NZ dollars per person per day. Illegal false advertising. Please see picture of advert. Stay was ruined at check out. We had pre-booked a transfer through the hotel to take us to the airport at 8:30pm for our international flight at 10:30pm. This was booked with more than 24 hours notice and cost 60 NZ dollars (paid directly to the hotel). When no transfer showed up at 8:30pm, we asked reception to check and were advised that it hadn't been booked. The receptionist was dismissive and said it wasn't her problem as the transfer company was separate and it was another receptionist's fault for not booking properly. We advised that we had booked the transfer through the hotel (as they advertised shuttle transport) and paid the hotel 60 dollars, so it therefore was the responsibility of the hotel to ensure that the contract was fulfilled. The receptionist phoned the transfer company, who advised that they had already left and would have to drop passengers off at the airport before coming back to us. By this stage it was approaching 9pm and we were panicking about making the international flight. The situation was even more critical because we are British, and it was the last flight we could take out of the Cook Islands to New Zealand before lock down. The receptionist didn't seem bothered by this. We asked her to arrange a taxi but she said we would have to pay for it ourselves in cash. We had no cash left and card option was not available. I asked her to refund us the 60 dollars cash that we had paid the hotel for the transfer and we would use that for the taxi but the receptionist advised she couldn't do that. I asked her to get someone who could/manager but she said no manager was available.
Good 7,7
Pros: Great
Cons: Front desk staff and old bathrooms
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The restaurant was delicious! Food was amazing, fast, and the staff were always friendly. The snorkelling was so much fun! And we enjoyed the pool every single day :)

Pros: As advertised it was beachfront Absolutely loved our stay Beautiful scenic & warm It was also very convenient to be able to have all meals here
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Friendliness of staff and quality of meals: excellent
Cons: Due to the lack of rain, the island was somewhat dusty
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Lovely lovely staff, helped us find some aloe for our sunburn!
Cons: Housekeeping was pretty quick, room often needed a sweep/vacuum due to sand. Breakfast was not allergy friendly, not alternative options available
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Great value for money and lovely helpful staff! Location was stunning and close to town
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Throughout our stay the staff were friendly and helpful specially with all the Covid 19 pandemic. When we can we would definitely come back
Excellent 9,0
Pros: This accommodation is great value for money. We stayed in the newer building which does face out onto the road but this did not disturb us at all. Staff in general were all very pleasant but the property does run on Island time, so do be prepared to wait. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, pretty much coffee and toast, but this is included free so cant complain. Snorkel gear can be signed out for the day, but is pretty worn out and the Beach/pool towels are tiny, BYO if you can. Waliing distance to Town Centre (about 1/2 an hour) All and all for the money paid we would recommend.
Good 7,0
Pros: Staff was awesome and great service. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The facility itself was awesome and spacious.
Cons: The pool wasn't as clean as I hoped it would be.
Poor 1,0
Pros: Pool only was ok by the size of the pool was too small for the number of guests
Cons: I didn't like anything, the breakfast was minimal, room was dirty and we didn't get clean towels or linen for most of our stay.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Staff is super polite and helpful. Position is good and not far from town. Anyways, if you want to explore a bit the island you'll need a scooter (or electric bikes, or cars), and a rental company's branch is inside the resort. The room is quiet large and it has kettle, fridge and TV Food is very good. Raw fish salad is excellent
Cons: Unfortunately the rooms' walls are not that thick and if you have noisy neighbours you'll hate them The room was large and quite comfortable, but let me say that cleaning is not high leveled and furniture should be refreshed. Same thing for the bathroom, which is fine, but not as clean and new as I have expected. Breakfast is not exactly a "continental" one (it doesn't include eggs or sausages or bacon for free indeed) it's more a sweet and fruity one (papaya, yogurt, bread, butter and jam, etc.).
