the staff where all fantastic
The hotel is run down and dated, not a Hilton. The only thing keeping it going is the staff
Window handle had been broken off and window would not shut resulting in a cold nights sleep. When I hung a towel on the bathroom hook it came straight off the door. The room was definitely not worth the money and I would not stay again.
Cold and noisy
The receptionist was lovely, helpful and welcoming. Also got an upgraded room to a deluxe......
Where to start, after checking in to the room we had a quick look around, spacious however very old and tired, then noticed hairs on the pillow, bathroom was old and although clean really needs an upgrade. The shower was awful, the shower curtain didn’t stay closed so water went all over the floor. Not enough shampoo for you to wash your hands never mind your hair. So for an upgrade it was a very poor show. Decided to go down to the spa, I say Spa, but it’s not. The swimming pool is nice enough but jacuzzi wasn’t working which is what we were looking forward to most after a busy day. The staff at reception were unhelpful and unwelcoming and actually quite rude. We were given a towel that was like a hand towel which was ripped. Really really poor. Water all over the floor in the changing rooms and hairs everywhere. Not nice at all. We stayed in the so called spa for about 15 minutes before getting out and back up to the room to get ready for going out. The location is actually really good for the city and in a lovely setting and we had a really good night out. However when back at the hotel the bed is really uncomfortable you can feel every spring and is honestly one of the worst beds I have ever stayed in. If you can pay extra and stay somewhere else, Hilton should not have this as a 4 star it is closer to 2. Will never stay here again. ☹️
