The reception staff were friendly enough and the bathroom was clean. The other breakfast items looked good(pastries etc) unfortunately we were so put off by the smell and horrible mouthful of cooked breakfast we left without trying these
Although booking.com advertise this hotel has parking, this is not the case. I stayed at the hotel with a disabled guest who really struggled walking to and from the local NCP the receptionist advised us to park at. Outside there are just 2 loading bays, badly spaced next to bollards and bike racks which made unloading our belongings really difficult. A member of the public pulled up along side us and screamed at us that we hadn't left enough room for them to get down the street while hotel cleaners I assume scowled on, smoking and said nothing! My friend is disabled with a stick bear in mind.... When I got into my room the smell was overpowering, like dirty feet! There were stains on the carpet and dust around the curtains and window sill. The water was exceptionally hot in the bathroom (we were warned of this on arrival) but this clearly needs addressing. The cold tap was basically warm so iliminated the option to have a drink in the room, I had to go to a local shop to buy a bottle of water so we could drink and brush our teeth with cold water! When we decided to visit the hotel bar we were disappointed again, absolutely no wine whatsoever (bar girl said a delivery hadn't turned up) I went for a gin and tonic which cost £9.10 and arrived in a grubby glass with odd tasting ice in :( The security guard encouraged me to throw my cigarette butt on the ground, saying "it's private ground they can't do anything about littering" when I asked where the bin was....before telling me around the hotel is a hot spot for homeless rough sleepers who are dangerous and he'd earlier witnessed a mugging outside! How off-putting. In the morning we hoped breakfast service would be better but the cooked Breakfast was horrible and remained mainly untouched by guests. I should have taken some pictures to show the vat of greying watery scrambled egg!
Central location and excellent value
Shower went hot and cold
Very comfortable rooms and spacious bathroom. Breakfast choices excellent.
Bed comfy room had heating.
No make up .mirror
Not much - very basic. Great welcome by the receptionist though
Room very basic, not in the best part of the city, parking is additional in NCP, not very good value all things considered.
