Pros: The food was excellent. The restaurant serves exquisite meals and our waiter Jorge went the extra mile to inform, present recommendations and take extra steps to make our celebration extra special. Maria serving at the less formal bar was also very helpful and made us feel at home and enjoy our stay. Excellent breakfast. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable, the rooms very clean. The grounds were lovely to walk around, especially beside the river. Sitting beside the open log fire in the lounge / library was a very pleasant way to end the evening.

Pros: This is a great hotel. The hotel itself is amazing. The spa is first class. The beds are very comfortable, we slept every day until 8:30. The breakfast is terrific. The antiques are very nice. The building is very beautiful and many details are exquisite. The staff is friendly and attentive, every request was fulfilled. If I can make one small suggestion: fresh flowers instead of plastic orchids in the reception area. It doesn’t look good. Everything else is excellent

Pros: Historical building with large, well equipped bedrooms, right next to the cathedral. Excellent breakfast selection.
Cons: Bedroom door(s) have gaps between the door and frame resulting in a rather loud environment at times. Staff at the restaurant, breakfast area and reception were generally unhelpful and at times appeared quite rude. Not what on would expect at a 5 star hotel,
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, toiletries amenities superb, very comfortable.
Cons: The food was not as good as expected. Some food in the breakfast buffet that I would expect hot was cold. We had to return our dinner entrees because the pork was cool while the potatoes and greens were hot. I still have it a 10 because everything else was wonderful.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Exquisite historic building!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The charm and history of the building.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful hotel surrounded by history. The Parador de Santiago de Compostela seems to be guarded by San Santiago. The renovated hotel is impeccable, its staff very professional, the rooms very comfortable. Is very large. It has several old courtyards, which can be seen from different points of the hotel. It has a lovely chapel and its bar and restaurants are excellent. It is located in the heart of the old town and from there, its famous cathedral is walking distance. It is very nice to see how the walkers of the Camino de Santiago route arrive. They arrive very tired, but if they stay at this Parador, they have a nice reward.
7,5 Good
Pros: I had a very small room. Hard to regulate heat. I thought it was expensive. Though the hotel is a landmark, it is very old.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fantastic stay in Santiago de Compostela for my husband & I at the completion of our 14-day Camino! The hotel is conveniently located in the historical downtown area (near the edge where the business/downtown area begins, but still within the historical streets & a few minutes' walk to the Cathedral & shops/restaurants/museums. It is also conveniently located about 10 min. easy walk to the train station, which we had to take back to Madrid. Located on the 3rd level of the building, there is elevator or stair access from a nice quiet lobby (the rest of the building seemed to be residential apartments?). The reception area of Mapoula is very nicely decorated with warm but modern décor, with a seating area around the reception desk, & then a dining area & kitchen/breakfast buffet area around the corner. Everything was very clean. Included in our stay was the continental breakfast buffet (it would have been well worth the 4€ I think it was listed separately for anyway): there is a selection of pastries & cakes (apple, Santiago/almond?, meats & cheeses, soft boiled eggs, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruit, etc. available at the buffet. They bring you fresh squeezed orange juice & a basket of freshly toasted breads & croissants to your table. The mugs for hot tea & coffee are in a heated carousel. Everything was immaculately clean & service was great. The only very slight negative here was they only put a small amount of fresh fruit out. My husband wanted a banana but the second day noticed someone had taken the last (only?) one (& actually ended up not finishing it!)...to their credit we didn't ask them for more, & perhaps they would have brought more out if we did. Our room was just off the reception area, through an extra door/small entry area, along with another room. The lighting was automatic & bright, which I love (some hotels are so dark & dim). In the room, everything was very modern, yet cozy (love the one stone accent wall). There was air conditioning & recessed ceiling/behind the bed lighting. The bathroom was larger than most we had stayed at throughout our Camino (we stayed in hostals & pensions, not albergues!) & everything was immaculate, comfortably decorated, great water pressure/heat in the shower, lighting overhead as well as the vanity area, etc. (Here the one small negative was their towels, white medium/large bath towels with Mapoula stiched/printed across the bottom in red letters, were a little old. You could see the fraying begin around the edges of the ones we had day 1 & 3 of our stay. Day 2 the towels they gave us were a little newer. Everything was very clean, though.) Our room window had 2 layers of shutters, inside sheer curtains & outside automatic shutters (as are customary in Spain). There were no views since we were close to other buildings, but being on the 3rd level, we could see across the small pedestrian alley to a rooftop & no windows directly across. Also, laundry service was a plus!

Pros: Our hosts were very hospitable and accommodating to all our needs. My father 79 years old and I had just finished the Camiño Santiago de Compostela. His feet blistered. Our hosts helped us take care of him medically and insured that all our needs were taken care of. I can gladly recommend these friendly people anytime. Thank you for everything!!
6,7 Good
Pros: Having freshly made coffee available was a huge bonus. Otherwise, the hotel was fine and clean, maybe just a little far from the center, but a nice walk regardless.
Cons: This is difficult and I've been avoiding writing this review, but there is clearly a serious problem with the younger male staff member. Unfortunately, I heard him yelling at another staff member, who also happened to be his father, in a violent and aggressive manner that was incredibly disturbing - not the least reason being that apparently what set him off was my asking for a restaurant recommendation and him disagreeing with his father's advice. Honestly, separate from one another, they were both very nice and helpful. But together, the tension was enormous and it was extremely uncomfortable for me after I was witness to that exchange. I sincerely hope that young man is working on his anger issues and temper. Had he worked anywhere else, yelled at any other staff person in that way, I imagine he would not have a job. He is lucky; I really hope he realizes that and controls himself in the future and shows everyone respect, especially is father. It was scary.

Pros: Wonderful place to stay before the last little bit of the Camino into Santiago. Very cozy-- sat in front of the fireplace before supper. Nice supper.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I treated myself to an overnight stay at this hotel after spending a week walking the Camino so I only had 10 kilometres to walk to Santiago Cathedral the next day. Wow what a great decision that was, it really is just a ten minute walk off the Camino but totally worth it. The host Alfronso is a wonderful man who could not have been more helpful or welcoming. I had total total joy at seeing my room complete with a jacuzzi bath for my aching legs and massive comfortable bed, and the hotel and grounds are just beautiful. I had dinner at the hotel at the hotel which was delicious and a great nights sleep. This is a beautiful hotel for Camino walkers, anyone needing a hotel near the airport (although zero airport noise) or as a base with a car to drive to the many lovely places to visit in the area at a very reasonable price
Cons: Absolutely nothing I wouldn't change a thing about this hotel.

Pros: The place is amazing! It”s like a Relais Chateou for a fraction of the price. And the owner is so kind and generous. He picked me up in the Camino and even sent to me in Santiago de Compostela earrings that I have forgotten there. Wonderful food and beautiful place

7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fine. Plenty of selection and food was replenished well. However, you had to order eggs and that was a disaster!
7,1 Good
Pros: Bed extremely comfortable and showers amazing !
Cons: For a five star hotel I was disappointed especially with the price of the room in comparison to other hotels in Santiago. Slightly dated and would rate 4 stars at a push. The breakfast had no hot food option and the coffee was poor.

Pros: Excellent breakfast, restaurant and facilities. Nice swimming pool and gardens
Cons: SOMES ISSUES WITH CLEANING.
5,0 Okay
Cons: Tries to present as a grand hotel. Doesn’t make it. Room was freezing and could not regulate from the room. Desk said they could set it between 24 and 28 C. The lower limit is over 75 F. I said you’re giving me a choice between roasting and freezing. Desk said there was nothing they could do, the system was in control. I went mildly berserk and the desk said they would check the computer. Problem was solved, but only after loudly vociferous complaining by me. There was mildew on the ceiling in our room. One of the electronic keys did not work, necessitating another trip to the desk. The towel warmer did not work—desk said none of them do. Toilet flushing mechanism had to be repaired. Hotel is a steep uphill hike 6/10 of a mile from the famous square. As pluses, the desk came to our room when our wake up call failed (our fault) and the breakfast buffet was good.

If you take a taxi from our hotel, you can access to monuments and tourist attractions full of history quickly, such as the Gais, Cidade da Cultura, the Monastery of San Martio Pinario or the Plaza del Obradoiro, which in fact is close to the hotel. Pros: Location, cleanliness, excellent facilities, polite staff, great food etc
Cons: It was a little pricey but well worth it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfy, great breakfast
Cons: Directions from booking.com website took us in the wrong direction
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is only about 15 mins from the centre and you can cut through the beautiful park there and back. The staff were really friendly - one of the waiters went out of his way to recommend places for us to visit. Everything was clean and well maintained - except a bit of mildew in the bathroom - Santiago is a very very rainy place so I think they struggle with the amount of mositure around. Breakfast was a lovely buffet with loads of choice. There is also a really nice bar which was very well priced for drinks and bar snacks.
Cons: The lights in the bar need to be dimmed a bit! For a lot of p[eople the fact that you can't use the pool all year will be disappointing - I think it is open from about May to September - but I'm not 100% sure. However this is standard in Spain - everything in done to the exact date - even if it is a blazing hot day they will close the pool on time!!
7,9 Good
Pros: The place was clean and tidy.
Cons: The staff couldn't do anything to help. It was impossible to obtain any support. Had more help from a hotel in the old town.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hello, Breakfast staff was charming when I came down late for breakfast and made me feel comfortable to stay. Housekeeper did a very good job.
Cons: Hello, I've a bad check in experience. Clearly my receptionist was still under training and 2 other senior members of the staff left her struggling to check me in while I was soaking wet, tired, dirty because have just cycled for 4 days. I was a bit embarrassed to stay at the reception poorly presentable. Apart from that everything else was very good.
6,7 Good
Cons: The Room was little and the Bathtube ridiculous.. The staff was barely able to speak in English.. The parking in front of the hotel have barely 20 spots and is an eight floor hotel.
