The location was about the only positive with regards to the hotel and the staff were exceptional. So friendly and attentive
The hotel badly needs updating, albeit it is an historic hotel, doesn't forgive the fact that the decor needs attention. The walls are thin and thus creating too much noise in the corridor and from the plumbing. We could here every time somebody so much as turned a tap on, awful. The owners are clearly taking advantage of the location. Now we understand why this was the only hotel with available rooms.
It was a great hotel in a great location.
No parking included.
Room cold. Tried several times to adjust temp. Kept constant 63 degrees no matter what I adjusted temp to.
Good bar and restaurant on site
The car park party that raged until 3am outside my window
The room was cold and had to get a space heater from the front desk.
Experience more than just hospitality at The Peery Hotel. This stately hotel isn't just a place to call home for a few days; it's an important part of Salt Lake City's history. Established in 1910, The Peery Hotel was the city's first upscale hotel, designed with sophisticated clientele in mind. The design was developed by Charles Onderdonk, one of Europe's most celebrated architects at the turn of the century, showcasing Prairie-style architecture that blended classic revival elements plus some of the most luxurious amenities the state of Utah had ever seen.
The Peery Hotel's original three-story design featured gracious marble floors, tile bathrooms and showers, sublimely comfortable beds and air conditioning in every room. After nearly a century of continous operation, the hotel was renovated in 1999, still preserving its iconic exterior with many of its antique furnishings still on display in the lobby, in the two onsite restaurants and guest rooms, along with vintage-inspired modern pieces for an eclectic, loving nod to the hotel's rich history.
Rooms at The Peery Hotel are incredibly comfortable and spacious, featuring Tempur-Pedic beds dressed with triple-premium sheeting and down comforters, full bathrooms appointed with upscale, eco-friendly toiletries, flatscreen TVs, free WiFi and more. King suites are even more luxurious, with separate sleeping and lounge areas. All rooms and suites are 100 percent smoke-free, so all guests can breathe easy.
The Peery Hotel is home to two popular, highly-regarded local eateries, Christopher's Prime Tavern and Grill and the Sonoma Grill and Wine Bar. The former is one of Salt Lake's most celebrated steakhouses; the latter brings the flavors of California to the Crossroads of the West, featuring sustainably-sourced, local ingredients. The hotel also features a state-of-the-art onsite fitness center, ideal for guests eager to work off vacation-only indulgences.
