Given Keys to Two Already Occupied Rooms!

After consulting their computer, the office staff found us a room that was listed as clean and vacant. We found the room already occupied by someone who was understandably upset at our having been given a key to his room. We went back to the office where we received an apology and a new room assignment. The office staff said she knew our new room was clean and vacant. Turns out the second room was already occupied by yet another patron upset at being walked in on! The gal at the desk contacted her boss by phone and said she was having the same problem with their new computer system as had happened before! As such, she had no way of knowing which rooms were actually occupied and which were vacant. Since we were very concerned with the prospect of someone else being given a key to our room (assuming the staff could actually find a vacant room for us), we left. Motel 6 could not give us a refund because their new computer system made that impossible! We contacted the booking agent who in turn called the motel and after quite some time on the phone were offered a refund which has not yet been received. We will never again stay (or try to stay) at a Motel 6.
