All the spaces are incomprehensibly dark, the ligths are so faint that you cannot even watch your own stuff.
The location is great as you are close to everything including the subway! I like the concept of the small space for a more affordable accommodation.
It was a bit noisier than I expected. My room was right next to the bathroom and if I were to stay again I would request a room far from the main door and the bathroom. It might be quieter.
The “rooms” cosmetically were not terrible for the price but there were bed bugs and made sleeping unbearable.
The bed bugs and not working hot water
The pictures online are incredibly inaccurate. The rooms are NOT private because they don’t have a roof, they have gardening trellises so you can hear EVERYTHING going on. Which there are 30 people to a floor and you hear all 30 of them. They essentially take one large story of a building complex and put up plywood dividers to make tiny little “semi-private” spaces. The room itself is so incredibly tiny. I am 5’4 and my feet were hanging off the bed. I only had one suitcase and one backpack and when they were on the ground there was literally no room to stand. There was what appeared to be blood on my wall. The bathroom, there is one toilet for all 30 people on the floor and only 3 showers (all with terrible creepy red lighting) NEVER STAY HERE. Not worth $100
Everything was bad, except staff - i guess they are just doing their job
The Bowery House offers guests a unique budget hotel experience in the heart of the famed Bowery.
