Room very small and cramped. No parking while checking in. Noisy neighbourhood
Everything else was awesome! The front desk and other staff was very friendly and helpful!!
The shower pressure was very low and could be better
Location and price.
1 staff member at desk didn't want to be very helpful but the rest were.
Brilliant location and kind/ helpful storage of suitcases
The rooms are, even by NYC standards, very small. Had to walk sideways to get along no the bottom of the bed The AC is really noisy, though we did discover you could turn the fan off which made it quieter. Expected street noise as others had warned, but generally for the same value could find better properties as all the furniture is pretty jaded/ scratched/ scuffed. Staff friendly and helpful, but breakfast is served in hotel foyer so space an issue - also pretty basic breakfast. Nearer to an upbeat youth hostel than a hotel.
Having read both good&lesser reviews before booking it was as expected. I called ahead w/ concerns over some neg. reviews and staff was polite, helpful, honest. Had to arrive by car so parking deal they have w/ garage is "reasonable" ($30/day) for NYC. Entire hotel is overall '80's/'90's old & worn yet generally room was clean. Private in-room bathrm more updated (in the 2000's) than expected. They say whole renovation/re-facing is about to happen. Breakfast, later-in-day cookies (tasted great!), all-the-time coffee in lobby were nice touch. Chose the "Deluxe Queen" for a little more space, was still tight, but very functional. Location is nicely hidden tucked around the corner on 47th St. SEEMS off the path BUT is actually very close to Midtown liveliness. Price was competitive (good for early July 2019) wouldn't want to pay a penny more BUT would stay here again.
Window and A/C unit have nearly ZERO soundproofing, like there's only a thin screen betw. you and the NYC noise outside. Entire hotel, all rooms face same outer wall, so applies to all. This location has A LOT of erratic come-and-go LOUD (not constant) surprise noises overnight. Light sleepers will need earplugs at least. Small lobby, breakfast can get crowded at peak. During 3nite/4day stay late-day cookies were only there 2 of the days, no matter when we checked :(
