Bathroom was very small Very difficult to find parking
Staff generosity when had to cancel due to Covid19. We chose the Jasper, partly as we haven’t stayed here before, and because of its proximity to public transport. We were to go to Flemington for a performance of Cirque de Solei, which was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid 19. Although our booking was non refundable, when I called to advise of our ‘no show’, the hotel offered to hold funds paid in credit should we wish to re book within 6 months. They didn’t have to do that. All working in hospitality, tourism, and the entertainment industries are doing it very tough right now. And so this gesture is very much appreciated. Jasper....I hope we get to meet up soon!
The room was quiet, spacious and clean. There was a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean with a roomy shower that had a hot and strong stream of water. The power point above the desk featured two USB outlets to charge electronic appliances. Complimentary bottled water was supplied. There was a good choice of toiletries. There was a tram stop close by.
The door to the room next door was adjacent to the door of our room and slammed loudly each time time the occupants went through it. Water leaked out of the shower where there was a gap between the door and the glass panel on the hinge side causing the floor to get quite wet in front of it. The main issue was that the WiFi strength in the room was practically non-existent. It was pointed out to a staff member who tested the strength at the door to the room and agreed that there was barely a signal.
Staff were friendly a very helpful in a difficult time (Coronavirus)
To be picky... the security card to operate the lift was clunky at times
Beds were e opened, so very comfortable. Windows could be opened. Bathroom was clean and easy to use. Fridge in room. All things you would expect for a 4 star hotel, but for an excellent price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Also location right next to the Vic market made quality coffee and snacks easily accessible.
Hard to fault anything - perhaps a microwave in the room and a couple of dishes to use would have been good, but when I bought take-away I asked for bowls and utensils at reception and they were happy to provide them.
