Can't wait for a reason to go again
The beds were simply amazing, the bedding which was something like a sheet comforter all in one, gave an amazing night sleep. The whole room was very nice and upscale feel to it. The staff was very friendly and did everything they could to help make sure my stay was wonderful and that I had everything I needed.
When I asked about the breakfast for the next morning, was told the time, but didn't find out till after I had gotten up early and went to it that it wasn't included in the cost of the room. Not upset at the cost of the breakfast, was a good breakfast and included hot food, just wish I had known when I asked about it.

There are no positive points to note that could possibly offset any one of the many negatives experienced in my stay at the Kirkley Hotel.
LOUD, LOUD, LOUD. Prior to booking my room online, I called the hotel to verify that a room with a king bed was available. The hotel confirmed and offered to take the reservation then but they couldn't honor the online rate so I declined and booked the room with a king bed online. I arrived an hour later to check in and the room I had reserved was not available. I explained the sequence of events to the clerk and got nowhere. I requested a manager but they weren't available. I told them to cancel the reservation and was informed that since the reservation was made through a third party website the hotel didn't have the ability to assist me in that action. Having exhausted the actions I was wiling to take, with my wife standing next to me, I accepted the room with 2 double beds. When the clerk hands me the key cards for the room, he says, "you should be happy with the room you have it is in the set we have for online bookings". He went further to explain that rooms next to elevators, entry points, stairwells, and ice machines were all that are available to those bookings. Disgruntled, we headed to our room. At every elevator a large sign is posted "Shhhhh! We have students studying and other guests sleeping. We ask for quiet in the hallways". The smart choice would have been to return the cards to the front desk and leave then. Yes, the room had 2 double beds that we pushed together. On the floor where the bed had been, I picked up $1.53 in change and a condom wrapper. The smart choice would have been to return the cards to the front desk and leave then. The room itself was small and very used. The chrome plumbing fixtures werent cleaned. Paint was chipped, scrapes in the wall and we still haven't decided what the smell was in the room. We had a lovely view of the restaurant HVAC equipment directly outside our window and listened to that all night long. This was the loudest room I've ever stayed in bar none. The hallways seem to amplify voices. We heard all conversations around us in the other rooms, all of the televisions, and every toilet flush. The parking lot for the hotel is poorly lit and the number of pot holes out numbers the parking spaces. The centrally located dumpster, in two of the parking spaces, is well positioned when this business is reclassified as a tenement. Unbelievable that anyone would give this hotel anything but a less than mediocre rating. Summary- Loud, overrated, over priced, under managed and LOUD.

Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We liked the service and the food was cheap, but great! Pool was nice and warm.

Of the 2 Elevators 1 was always broke and the other didn't work very well. Our floors ice and pop machine was broke down and standing in the middle of the hall way. Ugly and unsightly.
