Not clean and very old furnitures and not clean the seaming pool.
A great resort, excellent service, very friendly staff. Not only we had a private pool but the common pool was big and warm. Great buffet breakfast. Very clean and well kept. The daily “end of day reflection” moment in the reception area was very nice.
The location is not for beach going. The first day we woke up to low tide with the reef totally exposed. There is no swimming in the ocean, not even during high tide. We had to take the complimentary shuttle daily to go to the beach. Wifi wasn’t working in our villa, but they provided a 3G modem that filled in.
The resort was overall very nice with an entire outdoor feel from the entrance until you reach your room. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We booked this hotel for the beach access but were not able to swim in the beach. I believe it was a low-tide season when we booked the hotel (July) and the beach seemed all washed out. You can literally walk until half the jetty or even further and you would still not be able to swim. We had to walk for 30 minutes to reach the "swimmable" Lamai beach where everyone else was. At our hotel, guests were just happy with the pool and no-one even bothered with the dried out beach. Generally however, the hotel seemed a little old which was't really a very bad thing. But a little maintenance would have presented a better impression. We booked the suite with the plunge pool, that was all ok except for the amount of mosquitoes that were all around us since the place was more of an outdoor than an indoor room. The hotel location wasn't that good either. You will need to either rent a bike/car or grab a shuttle/taxi to reach somewhere. Walking towards some place would take you a minimum of 45 minutes.
Staff very courteous and it is like a home
