Clean and bed was comfortable.
I liked the fact that the hotel worked with me as I booked the for the next day instead of the night I was suppose to. The desk agent Jim I believe was a great help.
What I didn't like was the dim atmosphere inside the lobby even though it was 2 am, a alive hotel(well lit and staff appearences) is a safe hotel. I honestly believe that I should get refunded for my stay and this is why: 1. Starting at the elevator I noticed that the floors, walls and elevator tracks were absolutely filthy. As slow as houma's market is current, there is no reason as to why the hotel should not be dirty in the public areas like that. 2. Once I got into my room I started to check to make sure my room was clean, and all room lights, and accessories were in working condition for my use. I noticed first that the light on the left side of the bed did not work, and the microwave clock was not set, the alarm clock was blinking without being set. 3. Dead bugs in the light fixture above the vanity 4. High and low dust was everywhere!!!! 5. The ptac filter was so thick with dust that when I opened the compartment the a/c actually started to blow harder, colder, with a fresh smell. 4. Window tracks looked like they haven't been clean since the building opened. 5. Carpets are not being edged which caused the room to have thick dust and small debris along the sides of the room, and in between the bed and nightstands. 6. The toilet had urine on the left side base, urine spots on from t of toilet bowl. And when lifted the seat to the toilet, there was a hair on the toilet. 7. I didn't use the shower at all during my 4 hour visit to this hotel due to the mold spots and stains on the shower curtain, bath tub completely discolored on the tub floor, walls looked like they were sprayed with something but never cleaned or wiped, and there was several ,several , several pieces of hair inside the tub and around the bottom of the tub, and finally the shower head had alot of build up around the water holes. 8. The tile floors had an oily film on them, and really didn't seem like they were moped. 9. Finally let's talk about the bed. Looking at the bed it seemed amazing. A nice king bed that was simply made to perfection. It was simply a masterpiece, and whoever made it should be recognized. However when I took the duvet off the bottom.of the mattress, I noticed the condition of t he sheets, blanket, and too cover. The top cover was so dingy that it was off set yellow, and the sheets were the same way, with little balls of lint all over them from the wear and age of the linen. Not to mention there was hair all over the bed as well. For the current economic state of houma I would like to say that Baymont houma needs to get their act together. Occupancy is a hit or miss right now, and that is uncontrollable. The wear and tear on a hotel is not a controllable issue unless you have a really good manager that actually walks and inspects it's property, however cleanliness can be controlled from A-Z. I even left a note in the room listing all these issues to were hopefully someone could improve the dirty disaster this hotel has turned into.
They put me in a room booked for someone else. He arrived after me and they gave him a key and around 2 am I was awoken by someone with a key trying to enter my room. Fortunately I had the door clasp on. This could have gone terribly wrong.
