The hotel was busy due to events. The staff did their very best but we felt that as hotel residents we were neglected. Service was very slow and when we light heartedly mentioned this they admitted being seriously under staffed and they were not trained. We ordered a bottle of wine. It was just dumped on the table unopened. We ran out of cutlery and we had to remove some from ha nearby table. Our bedroom appeared to be next to some kind of machinery which was operating outside our bedroom. It was intermittent but slightly annoying. But we had a good time and we would stay with you again, but not the same room 346. Kind regards. David
Superb location for Convention Hall Excellent breakfast buffet.
Coffee at breakfast.
Lovely hotel and ideally situated
Would have been nice if the single bed had been a 4ft and the heating system was extremely noisy, woke up at 5.30am each morning which wasn’t ideal
The staff were very friendly, the bar, bar food and restaurant prices were fair.
I was disappointed to find an old sock on the bedroom floor which was under a table. I discovered it three days into my stay. I was disappointed with the breakfast's as over the weekends these are buffet affairs, nothing particularly wrong with this except the hot food was tepid. The "hot" food was also tepid when waiter/waitress served on Monday/Tuesday and very small portions. Very slow about taking tea/coffee orders. Finally quite a bit of the paintwork in the corridors could do with refreshing.

The Wedgwood Restaurant or more intimate Library serve menus featuring fresh, local ingredients and afternoon tea is served in front of a log fire in the Swan Lounge and Bar. With 7 reception rooms, parking for up to 90 cars, and facilities for Harrogate conferences, weddings or private parties for up to 300 people, the Old Swan is the perfect location for events of all sizes. and on our doorstep, the elegant Spa town of Harrogate and all the beauty of Yorkshire to explore.
