Location is unbeatable -literally on...

We stayed in this hotel by the end of August. The location is absolutely fantastic and unbeatable as it is directly on the beach! We had the room with sea views which were beautiful. Breakfast was nice overlooking the pool and beach area. We loved the food in Palm Beach Restaurant nearby!

Hotel needs some updating. Room was clean, but wee had ants in the room (most in the bathroom). While it was not dramatic, and it was not pleasant see few of them on the furniture in the room and bathroom floor. Also, pool is way to small for this size hotel. Overall we felt that room was overpriced.

Well located hotel. The windows unfortunately not soundproofed so facing the ocean felt a bit like sleeping in the beach - if you are sensible to noise take the room facing promenade. Very good breakfast and friendly stuff.

Outstanding location right on the beach. The handful of staff (due to covid arrangements? - hotel very quiet) were all excellent, all ran efficiently, all was spotless, the room was lovely, very fresh clean and comfortable. There was even parking available right outside. Not a pretty building but beautifully presented.

The prices in the bar and the beachfront cafe/restaurant were as high as you'd expect in this location ( but plenty of other places nearby). Internal walls seemed thin - might be a problem in a busy hotel!

The location is perfect; room with sea view gives a very good view on the sea; the hotel is situated in the center close to restaurants and coffees; the beach close to the hotel is nice. The room and bed is confortable.

The Cleaning if the room is poor; the bathroom is not cleaned every day; the towels do not smell very clean; for a 4 stars hotel these kind of services are expected and should be provided. If the breakfast is not included in the price of the room, it is advisable not to take it as it is expensive for what you get (better to go in a coffee close to the hotel). The swimming pool is way too small. The rooms are not very big; the balcony is small. The fitness centre is very small. You need to pay for the longue chairs on the beach in front of the hotel. The hotel/room is too expensive for what it offers and for Portugal

The a/c in our room was faulty but when we complained to the hotel management they dealt with the matter to my satisfaction.

Location is ideal - right on the beach, close to lots of cafes, restaurants and shops, very convenient. Free parking was helpful and staff were all very nice. Pool is lovely but small.

In one room, the A/C wasn’t working properly so it was very hot. The fridges were on but also did not work. In the Executive room, the sofa bed was very uncomfortable.

An exceptional location. Fantastic swimming pool above a spectacular beach. The staff on the whole are very good. The adjoining RAJ Indian restaurant is fantastic.

The position, the staff. We had booked two nights room only and added on a very good breakfast both days. A little pricey compared to what’s currently on offer.

Our only problem was not the fault of the hotel - guests smoking on their balconies which would reach other guests’ rooms. I understand the hotel asks guests not to smoke in rooms or on balconies, but the request appears to go unheeded.

Great location. Well organized. Comfortable. Some furniture in room was a little tired but overall good value for money.

Love the beach location and free easy parking. The rooms are a decent size and beds are comfortable. TV has English channels and all staff are pleasant. The hotel is ideal for the over 50’s as they cater well for them and the resort is pretty quiet for younger people.

We stayed for a few nights over the New Year period as we have done numerous times. Unless you pay a fortune for the ‘Gala dinner’ you struggle to get a meal in resort or at the hotel. In my mind, the adjoining Raj Indian restaurant should be open as an alternative dining option and the Boa bar menu should be fully available - which it wasn’t for the second year running on New Year’s Eve. The bar menu is very basic offering baguettes, wraps and toasties, but only the toasties were available. For a hotel of this standard, it’s not good enough and there were plenty of people ordering food in the bar to make it worthwhile. Please get this sorted for the next NYE!!

We e been visiting 5his hotel for over 30 yrs. it’s got a great location on the beach, nice facilities, very good staff and comfortable room. Unfortunately 5he resort offers Armação de Pera is extremely quiet in November, so not worth going out in the evenings. It’s much busier during summer months with lots of Portuguese families staying there. Most guests seem to stay in the hotel in the evenings and have the buffet dinner or all inclusive package. Happy hour is 25% off drinks in 5he bar from 6-8pm.

Lots of stairs, town too quiet

The buffet breakfast was very good. Just missed one ingredient that I always have in the mornings, plain yogurt. Otherwise, all was fine.

The room was big, spacious and clean. We really loved. We were actually glad, that it was not a sea view. The beach is really crowded even during September. The parking side was calm. The staff on the reception was nice, the breakfast staff too.

The bathroom looked old. It would need some renovation. Breakfasts were everyday the same. There were almos no fresh vegetables, just dry cucumber. They had some problem with the alarm during our stay. It started to make noise even in the middle of the night. And then it made noise everyday.

Location was excellent when you got there via one way streets! Breakfast was good.

It’s far too dated. The hotel needs a big refurbishment to bring it up to date with what you find elsewhere. Modern shower rooms and decor would raise this to another level. Can’t understand how Holiday Inn doesn’t demand this.

The room was spacious , stuff was always helpful and polite the place was just next to the beach and many restaurants around the place is worth the money and good to relax

Mannerism of staff, some not welcoming in their greeting especially older women at the front desk who barely smiled on arrival at the desk. The men who were at the front desk where more welcoming and seemed happier in their greetings.

The hotel was spotless the staff are very helpful, I liked that their was lots of very comfortable sun loungers around the property to chill out on and the beach was just down some steps from the pool, would definitely stay again.

The pillows weren’t the most comfortable and the drinks at the pool bar and main bar are very expensive in comparison to all the other establishments on the island I didn’t eat at the hotel I always ate out

Location, access to beach and restaurants very easy. Bar and restaurants are great with stunning view. Access to pool, confortable bed. Private terrace and garden with view of sea.

Room and bathroom rather small. Bed not entirely clean. Handle to hold shower was broken making showering not easy. Air conditioning opposite bed so cold draft in face when in bed.

The bed was very hard and squeeky. The air conditioner in 2 rooms did not work and they kept just trying to move us. Had to ask 4 times for maintenance to check the unit, they finally did at 830pm to determine it was dead and could not be fixed until after we were to check out. Front desk was very apologetic and just wanted to move us time and time again to a sub par room.

View from my sea view balcony was gorgeous. Hotel close to a small supermarket and lots of places to eat.

Breakfast not that nice, food could of been a bit more fresh. Staff were not that helpful or friendly at reception (except for the young guy at reception, I think his name was Ricardo :)

Rooms were always clean, bar area and restaurant also extremely clean, lots of comfy sun beds and you could usually find one to use

Parking spaces are limited and clearly a bit of a problem, pool didn’t seem to get cleaned very often, exterior of hotel overlooking the beach was rather run down

There was not shower gel in the shower and we had to ask for clean big towels as they had one replaced one.

Our bed was too small in first room . The manager sorted us another larger room at no extra cost

Bathrooms were a bit grubby. Not dirty but needs some attention.

Great location on beautiful beaches. Nice breakfast.
